THE ROLE OF THE QPA YEAR REP Each Year Group has a number of volunteer representatives who support the School by welcoming new families to Queenwood and promoting friendly, supportive and inclusive relationships between families within each year group. In performing this role, the Year Representative will: •

create opportunities for parents and guardians to meet by organising social activities;

support, promote and attend QPA and school events where possible;

welcome new parents to their year group (eg a phone call, meeting for coffee or an invitation to lunch);

recruit others to assist with class and QPA functions during the year, and

act as an ambassador for the School.

The Year Rep sends a weekly email to all parents in the year group with details and reminders about the week and upcoming events. The Year Reps K-12 meet once a term at the Lawrance Seminar Room (Senior campus). In 2016 the meetings are at 8:40am on 4 March, 20 May, 19 August and 25 November. The Principal and senior staff usually attend these meetings and make themselves available to answer questions. Mothers, fathers and guardians of Queenwood students are warmly encouraged to consider taking on the role of Year Rep. If you would like to know more, please contact: qpa@queenwood.nsw.edu.au
