Friendship Blooms Show your appreciation for a fellow member of the community; it may be a friend, a family member or maybe someone you’ve come into contact with who provides a wonderful service Beverley Kennedy or who works hard to make a difference. Let All Things Local surprise them with a fresh bouquet of flowers. All Things Local has joined forces with Beverley Kennedy (pictured) from Floraline, Gregory’s Way in Belper, to offer readers the chance to show their appreciation for a fellow member of the community. The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Frances St Lawrence from Belper, who was nominated her friend Sue Smith, also from Belper. Here’s what Sue wrote: “Can I please nominate my friend Frances St Lawrence. I am a new resident to Belper and I got to know Frances through a mutual contact, 8 years down the line she was and continues to be my supportive ear when my mother died last year suddenly through the dreaded virus. She is also Treasurer of the local project ‘Sharing Not Wasting’, and she has risen to the role with admirable gusto and also calm. She deals beautifully with crazy banks and their odd ways! As Chair of the project without her input these last few months, life would have been a challenge. She works hard for all the various organisations she is involved with including the Unitarian Chapel as a reader and general sorter outer. I do hope you will consider Frances for a bloom gift, it would make her month.” Sue Smith Nominate someone to receive the next bouquet. All you have to do is state, in no more than 100 words, who you are nominating. Include their address and the reasons why you are nominating them. You can nominate more than one person if they are living/working at the same address… and remember – flowers don’t just have to be for women! The only rule is that the person receiving the flowers must live or work in the distribution area of All Things Local, Belper Edition (listed on front cover).
