Our Programmes
Foundation Year Courses
Our Foundation Year Course is ideal for students who need to achieve a certain level of English in order to be accepted.
Foundation Year will help to integrate students into the first year of the Bachelor's programme.
The main purpose of the Foundation Year is to prepare students to enter our Bachelor programs. Students will gain the necessary skills to be independent, within an English-speaking environment.
The course aims to provide students with the English language and study skills that they need in order to be successful at university. It is important to note that completion of the course does not guarantee students entrance into the university. It is necessary for students to show during t h e co u rs e t h at t h ey h ave understood the information and skills they have been taught, and can incorporate it into their work. Foundation Year at SIST will benefit from: · · · ·
Individual support and tutorials Regular guest lecturers The use of the Academy's study and recreational facilities, including the Language Library, the computer suite, and the academy's sports facilities. A varied social programme including evening entertainments and weekend excursions to popular tourist attractions.
The course offers a holistic approach to learning, and covers reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. During the course, students will receive
s e m i n a rs a n d m a k e p re s e ntat i o n s . instruction on important techniques such as summary-writing, analysing essay titles, organising writing, note-taking in lectures. 5
Students will gain experience in working both individually and in groups. As part of the course, all students will work towards a 5000 words project in their own field of study. Students will receive guidance from their tutors on how best to conduct research and write it up effectively. Students will also work towards a presentation on the same subject.
There is no final examination. Students are assessed continuously, taking into account their attendance, successful completion of assignments and participation in class. Students will be given a full report on their progress at the end of the course. The course involves a great deal of course work, which will require students to manage their time effectively.

The most recent figures for the National Student Survey (2011) showed a satisfaction rate of over 80% . It is particularly strong in tourism, with the department not only being ranked fourth in the UK by The Guardian in 2011, but also with staff research being graded as 'worldleading' and 'internationally excellent' in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.
Courses delivered at study centres share the same ethos, material and approach as those delivered at Cardiff Metropolitan University itself. COURSE OVERVIEW The aim of this course is to provide you with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the craft and technological skills required for print, the internet, moving image and multimedia combined with the intelligence, imagination and originality to have a successful career in graphic design. BA (HONS) INTERIOR DESIGN COURSE OVERVIEW Interior Design is in increasing demand as a professional discipline. The course is carefully postioned to provide a preparation for careers in design for retail, domestic, commercial exhibition and entertainment environments, as well as for transport and automotive interiors. Interior Design is a spatial activity that links architecture and design, with an emphasis on the quality of materials.

This is a taught postgraduate programme leading to the award of the degree of Master of Arts Education (MA Ed). The awarding body is Cardiff Metropolitan University. The programme is designed for teachers and educators who have an interest in continuing their career development. AIMS To produce educators capable of operating at the highest levels within schools and other educational contexts.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS A bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent; An IELTS score of 6.0 or above. STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME To cater for the changing professional development needs of local educators and related professionals, the programme comprises four taught modules and a dissertation. MODE OF DELIVERY This Master's degree will be delivered over a minimum of 2 years and maximum of 3 years.

English communication skills for Global Managers (pre-MBA) This course has 9 weeks of tuition and is for Managers who wish to enhance their language and communication skills in order to study successfully at MBA level and carry out their jobs more effectively in an international context. The course aims to develop your written and spoken communication skills in English in an MBA study context, and develop some of the communication skills that you need as a Global Manager. MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION The MBA is an internationally recognised and respected qualification for managers. Applicants are from both the public and private sectors in the UK and abroad. The teaching programme is aimed at those who are looking to develop their careers and at ‘high flyers’ that need an understanding of all the major functions of business providing generalist knowledge for prospective leaders. In addition to enhancing successful students’ career prospects, the course aims to encourage independent and creative thinkers. This is done by following the UK Quality Assurance Agency guidelines in giving students a ‘strong practical and professional orientation’ differentiating it from other masters programmes.

It is designed to be an intellectually challenging piece of individual management research. Students are allocated a supervisor who will provide constructive comment on their work as it develops. Students have access to online as well as standard library facilities. Cardiff Metropolitan University is proud to be coordinating the Tempus Leadership in Higher Education Management project. The project partners come from Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy and Greece including the support of four Arab Ministries, Magna Charta Observatory, UK Leadership Foundation, Arab Network for Quality Assurance Agencies, Association of Arab Universities and WHEEL. Tempus is the European Union’s programme which supports the modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region, mainly through university cooperation projects. Projects Sunderland Smile is a charity club created by our students to help Operation Smile fulfill some of its missions and raise funds. Operation Smile Morocco is part of a global alliance of Operation Smile dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults suffering from cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. Operation Smile Morocco operates under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meriam, the organization's Honorary Chairperson.

Trips SIST Students Exploring Morocco SIST regularly organizes trips all around Morocco - Merzouga, Agadir etc. For example, the Merzouga trip started in Errachidia with a visit to the Blue Source - Meski, the abandoned palace and continued to the Ziz valley (the higher valley of Africa). Students had a chance to participate in a workshop of Fossil and Marble Erfoud, watch the sunset from the top of the dune Khemlya on camels and visit the Palace of Elfida (Errissani) Gorges Todra. These trips enable students of SIST to explore our beautiful country and places that enrich their experience.
