To achieve in Olympic house you must work hard every day and listen to what people tell you because if you do it will help you in real life when you leave school. You need many skills to achieve in life because achieving what you want isn’t easy at all so you need to work hard and learn everything you can and finish your work. Our teachers in Olympic House make it easy for us to achieve. Achieving is only hard if you don’t do your best at learning because if you don’t you will find yourself in a complicated position later in life as you will not be able to achieve anything and will not have a good life. There are lots of types of achievements there are game achievements which you get in things like Xbox’s and play stations but there are also achievements that you might get if you do something good like the achievement of being a knight if the queen thinks you deserve it and also badges if you are a scout or cadet. Achievement is recognised by all countries around the world because achievement is something most people want in life regardless of nationality. You can see the word ‘achievement’ written in many different languages below.

Believing is something everyone must do in Olympic House because this leads to success. You can have religious belief or have a strong passion for what you believe in. Everyone should have a dream and believe that they can achieve this. If you follow your dreams you can believe in yourself and your dreams can come true. Famous people had a dream and because they followed their heart and their dreams they could do the impossible. For example Albert Einstein was a Jewish German at the time when Adolf Hitler reined with an iron fist. But Albert was a genius, so he set off to accomplish everything he believed and he became one of the most famous scientists ever known. In times of darkness everyone gets scared, but religious people make the impossible possible. Olympic house has to believe in everything they do because if our house doesn’t then we won’t have the strength to be the house we are today! Every Friday we believe that we can do our best to make every Friday fun but still productive. In house time we have to believe that we can do our very best to find the best way to get everything done.

The word I have chosen means imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing or using some other medium. There are many ways of communicating such as texting, social networking, emails , verbal talk , letters and also postcards. We use communication in everyday life so we are able to survive in the big world . We negotiate and discus to achieve our goals. Communication is really special to our school because we are a Communication Academy and BT are our sponsors so they help make us the best communicators we can be. For instance we communicate in sports such as football, we communicate and work hard to score a goal like our house OLYMPIC we are a great house and we constantly communicate and discuss so we reach our goals. We use communication for many reasons such as to achieve a purpose, we talk and talk until we achieve. Sometimes we can communicate without even opening our mouths like in a silent debate where our teacher gives us a question and we all write down our thoughts in complete silence.

Προσδιορισμός- prosdiorismós Greek.

Demeter, in Greek mythology, was the Goddess of corn and the harvest. When her daughter Persephone was abducted by Hades, God of the underworld, Demeter’s grief was so great that she refused to be goddess of the grain any longer. Her neglect of the land meant no plants grew, and famine devastated the earth. She neither ate nor slept, she roamed land and sea and refused to give her up for lost – her dedication to the search devastating herself and the earth. In this example Demeter was determined to find her even though she was told she had no hope. One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat – Napoleon Hill You need to be determined in school. For example, if you get a question wrong you can’t just give up or you’ll never get anywhere in life. Even if someone tells you that you can’t do something, you shouldn’t listen to them; if you think you can do it then you can. For example the Olympic and the Paralymics are not very easy to be involved in it but Olympians and Paralymians are determined to be do the best they can and sometimes it pays off.

In Olympic House, we complete evaluations almost every day. Olympic House is about PE and cookery which are different to a lot of subjects in school because they are practical subjects. Students realise that to become better in cookery or PE they need to evaluate their dish/performance and make plans to improve it. Sometimes we evaluate by WWW-what went well and EBI-even better if. We can either evaluate our own work or a friends. Sometimes our evaluations are more detailed than WWW and EBI. If we didn’t do evaluations, we wouldn’t get better at our activity as it allows us to take time to think.

Going for gold is MCA’s student’s biggest goal. There is bronze, silver and gold, bronze is good, silver is better and gold is amazing. To get gold it takes lots of skills and hard work such as leadership, teamwork, communication, risk taking and more. If you were a hardworking student and had super attitude towards learning it would be no problem to get gold. If you get all gold, you will get a certificate to show your parents all your hard work you’ve done in school. Lots of athletes in Olympic try going for common goals such as career achievements and health gains. They inspire other people to also go for their goals. This includes all of us so if we try to go for our goals and try our best we might get gold and silver but if you don’t even try, you might get bronze or maybe nothing and you won’t be able to succeed with your dreams. Some famous athletes in Olympic tried to go for their goals and succeeded such as Mohamed Farah, who is the British and European record holder, made his marathon debut in 2014 in London, placing eighth, and setting a new English record of 2 hours, 8 minutes, 21 seconds. Mohamed Farah got 13 gold medals in about 26 races, 5 silvers and only one bronze. Even though he got a 6th or 9th place he still didn’t give up and tried to aim for gold medals and he succeeded because he believed in his ability and it was his dream to be a famous racer so this teaches us to never give up always try your best and if you lose it doesn’t matter because you still had fun and it’s not like the end of the world you can still try again and again until you succeed. So going for Gold is all about achieving your goal or succeeding with your dreams.

Health is how you feel when you wake up in the morning – whether you feel good and full of energy or whether you feel poorly. Health is very important in Olympic House because all our PE lessons and Cookery lessons include health and you need to have energy every day in these subjects to succeed. In PE we walk, run, skip, hop, do gymnastics, dance, play football, rugby and rounders and all of these things need healthy energetic people to carry them out. When we feel poorly, we don’t feel like being active. In cookery, we need to feel healthy so we can taste food without feeling sick by the food smells and tastes. Sometimes when people feel sick they lose their appetite which means they feel so sick that they don’t want to eat any food because it will just make them feel horrible.

My mum inspires me because she is the best mum you could ever ask for and she always gets me things but I don’t want her to do that I want her to by herself things and nice things instead of things for me. And she inspires because she tries her best to provide for me and my sister and that’s the best thing about it because my mum is my whole world she gave me life and she always will be there for me because my mum is the best mum you could ever ask for. Since I got to MCA it inspired me to do a lot of things and its gave me confidence to do clubs and make new friends and not be afraid to make new friends. I am so glad that I came to this school I love MCA and if you’re wondering about what MCA means it means Manchester Communication Academy. So if you are coming to MCA just be excited and if you’re coming to Olympic be extra excited.

Knowledge is facts, information and skills acquired through experience or education. Knowledge is an understanding of someone or something. Knowledge is linked to Olympic by being friendly, being helpful showing people where to go for lessons, helping them put money on their finger. The word knowledgeable is linked with Olympic in many ways because everyone in Olympic is full with lots of knowledge. The people in Olympic have lots of knowledge because they know about lots of things including about fitness, cooking and all about the body they know all these things because it is linked with Olympic. Knowledge is about sharing ideas, getting engaged in work, discussing things with each other, having questions so knowing you want to learn more, to reflect on things and also about the world and finding out about other cultures. Parents will always be more knowledgeable than their children, and children are always smarter than their parents.

In Olympic we have 5 different forms. 01, 02 , 03 , 04 and 05. Every Friday morning year 7s & 8s get together and share their knowledge with each other to help each other get more knowledge. All the teachers in Olympic house help all the students to get more knowledge. People in Olympic house are always keen to learn more. Sharing knowledge is a big part of life because if years eights know where everything it then they can help year seven and that is sharing knowledge. Reading can make your knowledge better by reading non-fiction book which is all about facts and isn’t a story but real life, it can increase your knowledge.

Leadership is taking charge and being fair with everyone. You will have to be committed and have passion for what you’re doing. You need respect strategy, responsibility and determination. Listen to what people have to say and be able to communicate back with an honest opinion or answer. Studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situation, interaction, function, behaviour, power and intelligence amongst others. To be a leader, you have to be able to take charge of a large group. Leadership has been described as “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task. For example, some understand a leader simply as somebody who people follow, or as somebody who guides and directs others, while others define leadership as “organising a group of people to achieve a goal”. In Olympic House, we sometimes get asked by our teachers to be leaders in either PE or cookery lessons.

is for Definition: “motivation is a reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way! Motivation is a part of life, you use motivation to get out of bed in the morning, an example of how we use motivation in Olympic house is: in communication curriculum, we do tasks to help us get to be leaders and also to get motivated and have fun! We have done the pipe race where you have to get a ball down 6 pipes all the way to the other side of the room without dropping the ball. In life you may want to become a famous footballer but you have to be motivated to become it! Even scientists have to be motivated to find cures and medicines and even scientific explanations. In Olympic house all the teachers keep us motivated to have great attendance, punctuality and to work as hard as you can!

All of these people had to be motivated to become what they are otherwise they would be unsuccessful. Companies can motivate employees to do a better job than they otherwise would. Incentives that can be offered to staff include increased pay or improved working conditions. In Olympic house we all keep each other motivated never letting one another down or disrespecting each other, we all respect each other’s opinions and keep people motivated to do what they want to do. Many people say that you can only use motivation in P.E lessons but motivation can be used anywhere and when doing anything you can even be motivated to write a long paragraph in and English lesson. Motivation in other languages:

is for National is relating to or belonging to a nation or country. The meaning of national is a person who Owes allegiance to that nation! In the Olympics before 1908, there were no national teams like there are today. Only a few countries could participate. All competitors entered individually, or were entered by the club they play for. For most competitors it is clear which country they were from, but there were some problems with countries sending more than one person for each event. Some of these teams were of mixed nationality, which is not allowed at the Olympics today. National is something which belongs to a country or nation, in Olympic we like to belong and work together. Olympic house welcomes new people in each year and we feel like a big family.

Olympic House is the best of all the five houses in Manchester Communication Academy. The early Olympic Games were celebrated as a religious festival. Olympic means : Relating to ancient Olympia or the Olympic Games. The five Olympic rings represent the five major regions of the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceana, and every national flag in the world includes one of the five colors, which are (from left to right) blue, yellow, black, green, and red.

A record 202 countries participated in the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens. Up until 1994 the Olympics were held every four years. Since then, the Winter and Summer games have alternated every two years. First place winners in the 1900 Paris Olympics received paintings instead of gold medals because they were considered to be more valuable. Every two years the Olympic flame is lit at Olympia, Greece by women clad in traditional Greek clothing. Lit through use concave mirror and the sun’s rays, the flame then begins a journey from Greece to the host nation where it is paraded around for months until the opening ceremonies. The gold medals are not actually made entirely out of gold anymore, they are 92.5% silver and have just been covered in gold.

Respiration is a process in living organisms involving the production of energy, typically with the intake of oxygen and the release of carbon dioxide from the oxidation of complex organic substances. Respiration is something that we use every day it is a reaction that happens in the living cells. Respiration is a big part of Olympic House because we do PE and if we didn’t know how to breathe properly we wouldn’t be able to take part in PE lessons. Rugby players have to use respiration when the warm up before a game so they feel confident and get enough oxygen into their lungs because rugby is a very rough and breathtaking sport.

It’s how your team define teamwork that can make all the difference between a definition that works, and one that is irrelevant. That’s because when you define teamwork together, it’s more likely to become a shared definition, and one that encourages commitment. With this in mind, the article finishes with a link to our teamwork definition tool, designed to help your team define teamwork. This is the real basis for agreeing a definition that is both relevant, and one that works.

We think that Olympic house is not in the middle, or at the bottom, we think our house is at the top and we try to make this the best it can be. Our house gets involved in all kinds of sports and games, this is something that we love and we feel passionately about. There are also all kinds of extreme sports which our house likes to watch in our house time. Extreme can sometimes mean taking a risk in life. Everybody working in the field of sports knows that one critical factor to develop and perform is understanding the psychological components that help with optimal athletic performance is a key priority for applied sport. Sportspeople often talk about being ‘in the zone’, but I’m sure many are unaware of what this. One means ‘being in the zone’ that means feeling really good and hyped up. Only you can stop yourself from doing. Only you can stop from doing achieving your goals. Only you could achieve great success. We in Olympic house like to make sure that we achieve great success. We even have a teacher from the Olympics in our house, she inspires us to be the best and she must have been “in the zone” plenty of times during her sports.
