Manchester Communication Academy Subject: GCSE Resistant Materials GCSE Graphic Products Exam Board: AQA Written Exam: Exam dates: Graphics 17/6/15 Resistant Materials 8/6/15 1 X 2hr exam worth a total of 120 marks. Exams are presented as a series of short answer and longer answer questions. Extended writing questions are worth 6 marks and there may be two on the paper. Each paper is worth a total of 60 marks. Exams will also test some practical investigations covered. Practical- What %age of overall grade? Practical assessment is worth 60% of the overall grade and is worth a total of 90 marks. The practical consists of a single design and make activity which is selected from a set range of tasks. This activity should take approximately 45 hours to complete and will be completed during school time. This includes teaching in small focus groups and the use of online lessons targeted at specific groups of students. Students are also encouraged to visit The Workshop where they can study independently or book in with a teacher for one to one sessions. Students will also be assessed every two weeks to inform them of their strengths and areas for development. What students should be doing at home? Students need to complete their revision based on the revision schedule below. They should also be completing the exam questions in their workbook.
