Police volunteers: Independent Custody Visitors

Page 1

“Volunteers are invaluable to the success of the Independent Custody Visiting Scheme, people giving their time to check upon the welfare of detained people in our custody suites”.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Lloyd is calling for volunteers across Greater Manchester to become Independent Custody Visitors. Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs) are people who make random visits in pairs, to police stations, to check on the welfare of the people who are in police custody. Without local people willing to give up their time, we wouldn’t be able to provide this important service. So if you’ve got a little time to spare and want to make a difference then apply to become an Independent Custody Visitor. Full training will be given.
