Exponential growth in scientific knowledge over the last few decades continue to drive exciting discoveries in the lab and innovative advances in the marketplace. From the mapping of the human genome to the creation of biological cocktails to cleanup after environmental disasters, science—and biology in particular—has limitless potential
“On the NOAA research vessel Henry Bigelow, I’m using the knowledge and skills I learned about in classes at GCU every day. I work with researchers and government officials who are directly responsible for creating environmental policy and regulations on fisheries and doing cutting-edge science on topics ranging from ocean acidification to marine mammal protection. These are the same policies and regulations I studied while attending GCU.”

“Georgian Court was exactly what I needed. A few years ago, I had a student-teacher from GCU in my classroom. I was so impressed with how prepared she was and how seriously she took her work. It wasn’t like having a student-teacher; it was more like having a team teacher. A lot of that has to do with the coursework and expectations at Georgian Court.”

Clinical Mental Health Counseling About one in four American adults suffers from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year. And mental illness accounts for over 15 percent of the disease burden on health and productivity in the United States—more than the burden caused by all cancers. Yet most mental disorders are highly treatable, fueling the need for highly trained psychology professionals. Georgian Court University’s M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is intended for those who desire to provide counseling for people in challenging emotional situations. The M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is a 60-credit program that equips you with the tools to apply psychological and behavioral sciences to real-life situations, working through emotional, behavioral, and mental challenges to help others make healthy changes. You’ll be prepared to enter doctoral programs or to work in community mental health agencies, college counseling centers, government agencies, and similar settings. Graduates of this program are eligible to apply for a license as a New Jersey Licensed Professional Counselor after successfully completing an examination and 4,000 hours of supervised experience.
