THE LAUNCH PARTY The DPLUSBOWIE Launch Party Event at Somerset House; showcasing both collections via catwalk inside the venue, and as a static exhibition inside the location after. Presented by style guru herself Alexa Chung, and sponsored by NME and BBC Radio 1, the DPLUSBOWIE Launch Party will be broadcasted by means of webcams online on the Diesel, BBC Radio 1 and NME websites, and also through readily available Facebook and Twitter DPLUSBOWIE platforms. A mirrored repeat tile covers the vast floor space, reflecting the soft lighting that bounces off the matte pale grey walls and grand orange and magenta shaded ombrĂŠ drapes. Steel bars, scaffolding and beams are left uncovered, and plush burgundy leather corner seating areas provide guests with superlative viewing space for the Bowie music videos projected across all expanses of the venue. In the centre of the space is a raised circular stage, with identical mirrored tiles encasing the circumference.
Here is where the static exhibition is to be held subsequent to the catwalk show. Garments from both DPLUSBOWIE collections will be unveiled and suspended by an intricate labyrinth of heavy rope and LED lit coat hangers. Walking the catwalk includes the beautiful Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, Dudley O’Shaughnessy, Ed Westwick and of course British super model Kate Moss, who is also the overall face of the promotional campaign. After the live show, the stage evolves into a night of music in honour of David Bowie. Live renditions of The Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop, Blondie, The Smiths or David Bowie will be performed by the likes of Lorde, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, CHVRCHES, Ladyhawke and The Killers. Bowie himself will make a guest appearance during the night and perform a number of tracks from the Aladdin Sane [1973] album, a huge source of inspiration for the whole DPLUSBOWIE campaign.
The famous Aladdin portrait on the album cover, and the song The Jean Genie from the album being the centre of DPLUSBOWIE campaign. With entry to this prestigious event only allowed through means of personalised invitation, there are only a single pair of tickets that will allow public admission to the DPLUSBOWIE Launch Party, of which can only be won. Random selection from competition applicants, (competition found online and inside the DPLUSBOWIE LOOKBOOK publication). Invitees to DPLUSBOWIE include Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, David Bailey, John Galliano and Naomi Campbell. Various seating areas, a bar, the catwalk/stage area, circular exhibition space, the public viewer interaction booth and promotional merchandise shop will also be available throughout the space when evolved into a static exhibition.

THE EXHIBITION SPACE PROJECTIONS Campaign advertisements, DPLUSBOWIE motifs/ logos, David Bowie music videos, and promotional GIF’s will be projected across vast expanses of matte wall inside the venue via projections.

THE MODELS
Models are essential to any campaign;“The Face”, they often become a recognisable part of the enterprise. Whether it be the striking ‘of-the-moment’ beauty who has just been discovered, or a timeless supermodel, the right model provides the right look and impression. Diesel currently market themselves towards a younger generation; those who ooze individuality, confidence and attitude, all of which I think my versatile selection of models will achieve. I wanted to use famous faces, to reflect the man himself.
Although I will also use other catwalk faces I purposefully chose these 5 as I know they each have a specific audience, and look. Each will attract their own fandom, creating more hysteria and social media awareness surrounding the DPLUSBOWIE campaign. By using these noted and influential people as blank canvases - the hair and makeup team will successfully be able to transalte the DPLUSBOWIE trend, conveniently reaching an excessively diverse assemblage.

HAIR MAKE-UP
A necessity and influential factor to any collection launch, the hair & make-up styling of the models helps to push the looks further and create a dramatic impact. The DPLUSBOWIE catwalk is an immediate reflection of Ziggy Stardust, translated into our contemporary climate.
Bold and striking colour palettes have always held a place on the runway. Whether it be a slick bold eye, or vibrant red lip, colour always helps to make the look ‘pop’. By projecting Ziggy’s costume make-up iconic behaviour onto the models, the DPLUSBOWIE concept is weaved and injected furthermore into the campaign. Keeping colour rather light if there is a lot of coverarage, or highly vibrant if only a single feature is being showcased. By controlling the amount of colour across the faces, I will avoid my models looking like clowns, and will keep the media slander and mockery at bay.

To create plenty of attention from potential consumers and visitors, I have devised a competition to run 3 months before the initial Launch of DPLUSBOWIE and the party itself. I have given the general public the chance to win the only pair of tickets that allow admission into the party.
To enter the competition, possible winners have to take a photograph of a DPLUSBOWIE styled outfit and share this via social median platform using the tag #DPLUSBOWIE. The outfit has to be influenced by 70’s denim fashion. By creating this competition, the media and public will already be looking into the theme behind the DPLUSBOWIE initial concept.

THE DPLUSBOWIE PHOTO BOOTH A photo booth provides a fun entertainment factor to any event, party or social gathering. The chance to cherish photographs and memories is always welcomed at such events. At the DPLUSBOWIE Launch Party, and following Exhibition, the photo booth will provide guests with not only a printed keepsake, but also a virtual version which can be posted via an array of social media platforms.
To further carry the 70’s theme that weaves throughout the entirity of the Diesel and Bwie collaboration, the printed photos will be in a vintage format. A single-strip style and a ‘worn’ look. Sepia, or Black & White, the photo booth is sure to create major awareness, enhanced by the Celebrity guests photographs once shared via Twitter etc. The immediate live share to such media platforms enhances the chance to reach the target of 500,000 DPLUSBOWIE dedicated hashtags, and to reach as many potential consumers as possible.
