ACT 2: Acting in Performance

Ages 4+ Session 1: Selections from Oliver Session 2: Selections from Mary Poppins Explore the world of musical theatre through developmentally appropriate, age-based instruction in singing, acting and dancing through songs and scenes from a musical! Building ensemble and technique in character work, voice, stylized movement, and storytelling will culminate with a cabaret-style showcase for friends and family. All sessions include a T-shirt. Showcase for Session 1 is Oct. 22. Showcase for Session 2 is Dec. 16.

Grades 4-8 For students who currently are in or who are planning to participate in a play or musical production, this class focuses on meeting the needs of each actor, and working to get to the next level of performing for an audience. Through learning and application of techniques, this program works on setting each actor’s goals and finding and fixing performance gaps through individualized coaching on techniques and methods for performance. The second half hour will focus on extension of the craft by digging deeper into character work, objectives, relationships, and putting the words to action to develop a scene or monologue that engages the audience in the world of the character. This class concludes with a monologue showcase on the last day of class. . Showcase is on Dec. 16.

ACT 1: Acting Fundamentals Grades K-3 For new or beginning acting students who want to participate in the next play or musical, Beginning Acting covers the fundamentals of acting through sensory, observation and relaxation exercises and games. Persons living outside the park district boundaries may be required to pay an additional fee to register for programs.

Depending on the particular activity, certain risks and dangers may exist due to inclement weather, slips and falls, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, lack of safety equipment, inadequate or defective equipment, failure in supervision and instruction or officiating, and premises defects. It is impossible for the Park District to guarantee absolute safety.

I further agree to waive and relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may have (accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in this program/activity against the Park District, including its official, agents, volunteers and employees (hereinafter collectively referred as “Parties”). I do hereby fully release and forever discharge the parties from any and all claims for injuries, damages, or loss that my minor child/ward or I may have or which may accrue to me to my minor child/ ward in any way associated with the programs(s)/ activity(ies). I acknowledge I (or my minor child/ward) will abide by local, state and federal guidelines regarding COVID-19, as well as facility/program policies, rules, safety directives, etc. I acknowledge if I (or my minor child/ ward) fail to abide by these, my access to Batavia Park District facilities and programs may be revoked at any time and at the Batavia Park District’s sole discretion. I acknowledge and agree federal, state and local guidelines regarding COVID-19 are subject to change and the Batavia Park District may, at its sole discretion, revoke the effectiveness of this document to manage facility capacity, participation in programming and/or use of facilities as well as safety. I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk and waiver and release of all claims. TRI-CITIES SOCCER TEAM

COMMUNITY

SUCCESS

The Tri-Cities Soccer Association (TCSA) was founded in 1977 to provide a fun and healthy environment for area youth, from 4-18 years old, to play soccer. Today, it has grown to be one of the largest independent youth soccer organizations in Northern Illinois with great support from the local park districts. We offer families three levels of participation: ReCReATionAl, ClASSiC and PRemieR. Get started in early childhood by joining our Hand in Hand program, TCSA’s pre-school recreational program for 4-5 year old participants. RECREaTiOnaL team play begins in our U6 division (kindergarten) where small sided games ensure a positive learning experience and lots of time with the ball.

For more information on TCSA’s offerings, please visit our website at www.tcsa.net, or call 630.377.1101.
