Letter from Your Lieutenant Governor Hello Division 25W! On the last weekend of February, I travelled down to Irving, Texas for Lt.G training with Region 2 and 3 Lt.Gs-elects. It was really nice meeting everyone and planning for the year. It’s a bit sad to think this is going to be my last year but I’m excited for another term! We are looking to have a Spring Training Conference on April 28th. Nothing is finalized yet but be on the lookout! Here’s a reminder to have your officer elections before DCON so your incoming officers can shadow you and learn from you. I know Jenks and Edison already had their elections and TSAS will have theirs in March. I will also be finishing up my club visits in March. DCON is in 40 days!!! Early registration ends March 9th so make sure you register on time or the price will go up to $175. Encourage your incoming club officers to attend DCON as this is the perfect place for them to get trained for their duties. We have so many exciting things in store for DCON from a variety of fun welcoming activities to interesting forums and talent shows. We are also having a convention app for DCON where you can find all the information, set your own agenda, post pictures and find maps of the hotel. It looks really cool (I’ve already downloaded it during training :) Keep on pushing guys! March is going to be your last month before a new key club year! Yours in Caring and Service, Kathryn Aung Volume 1 | Issue 11 | Region 3 | Division 25W | Texas-Oklahoma District

6 skills every leader needs to succeed These skills can be applied anywhere: a sports field, in the classroom and in your home life. It’s a mindset and understanding of the overall role you play. You don’t need a “title” to be a leader. Many of these can be applied to your everyday life. 1.

Passion. When you truly care about something, others can tell. You make it a priority.

2.

Set the example. If you expect guidelines to be followed, you must pave the way.

3.

Talk less, listen more. When you listen, you’re more likely to hear and understand the underlying issues.

4.

Motivation. It’s one thing to have ideas; it’s another thing to take action and follow through. When morale gets low, be the one who keeps people going.

5.

Trustworthiness. Your team members must know they can depend on you to have their best interest at heart. Building trust takes time and can be hard to earn back once it’s lost.

6.

Flexibility. Things happen. Plans change. Being opened minded and accepting the idea of taking a different path show adaptability.
