2020-21 COLLECTION VOLUME TWO
Hello, I am writing this as we all are having to deal with, in our own way, the events of the time. Two major occurrences of historic proportions have disrupted the flow of what has been “normal” for most of us. A major pandemic, plus social unrest in our streets to the extent that most of us have never experienced, is taking place. This has had a profound effect on our personal and business lives. We at Socksmith cannot look the other way when these things happen. We are in the business of designing socks, but our company is inclusive of many people of various backgrounds and ethnicities that represent the whole of our country. It is a natural flow for this to be reflected in the designs of some of the socks in our collections. We celebrate diversity, and we celebrate the peaceful efforts that might take place in support of this. Over a decade ago, Eric and Ellen Gil created Socksmith Design. I met the Gils years before this in the late 80’s when they opened their original tiny little sock store across the street from where their flagship store is now located in downtown Santa Cruz, California. I was a sock and legwear sales representative at the time, and the three of us shared a passion for the sock business. When they came up with the concept of Socksmith Design, the three of us became partners, and Socksmith, with the help of some tremendously talented and creative people that were brought on board, soon began to flourish. This is indeed a very somber time. We constantly hear people say that we are all in this together, and we are. Just as importantly though, at this time, is how we move forward together. We can all do our part in our own way to make this happen. We at Socksmith are determined to do our part to work with each of you to help get your sock business thriving again. Our warehouse, as always, is ready to promptly ship your orders. Our wonderful new display fixtures are ready to go. Our sales representatives are ready to meet with you and show you our new Spring 2021 collection, and our Customer Service Associates are here to help you in any way they can.
