01. Renderings 02. Models 03. Construction 04. Personal Works

01. Stair Section Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Watercolor, Prismacolor colored pencil After studying a stair on the University of Cincinnati’s campus I built it to scale in Rhino. After exporting the line work I rendered over the linework with colored pencil, pen, and watercolor and then added scale figures on photoshop. I Also rendered the stair in marker to explore new mediums.

01. Interior Space Photoshop, Hand Drawing, Colored Pencil, Watercolor The rendering on the left was a perspective drawing, the rendering is loose to show the relaxed feeling of the space. The drawings below are two seperate studies of the space. Both were explorations of how the red, yellow and orange lights affected the space. The left shows how the lights become a focal point where the one on the right shows how the colors still blend in with the coffee colors.

01. Emblematic Drawing Illustrator, Sketching, Diagram Making, Gouache First I investigated a stair, looking into the circulation, materials, massing, vertical and horizontal components, and natural lighting. I then made diagrams on top of plans and elevations. I sketched the stair, and then combined the sketches and the diagrams into the final emblematic drawing.

02. Habitable Space Rhino, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Model making First I made individual section models based off of different body measurements. I then combined all 5 models into one section model using the verb nested. I iterated the model so it was more cohesive and more accessible on the human scale. In full scale it would act as an outdoor area for walking, sitting, laying, and shade.

02. Balance Block Woodshop, Gouache I started with study models composed of only lines, planes and then lines and planes combined. I abstractly showed threshold in my final line and plane block. I then made a model of the volumes created in the line and plane model. Then we had to make the model balance on less than 4 sq.in., creating a balance block. The painting was an abstraction I made off of the axonometric of the balance block.

02. Armature Casting Plaster, Woodshop, Collage, Watercolor First I cast a simple plaster model. I made an armature to wrap around and hold the plaster. From one corner the armature reiterates the angles in the plaster. From the opposite corner the armature reiterates the volume of the plaster. In the same way, the final drawing was a collage, showing the elevations and the axonometric, showing the angles and the volume reiterated in the armature.

03. Spatial Construction Rhino, Woodshop, MDF, 2x4 The spatial construction was a group project. Each studio of about twenty people helped develop their section’s own 8ft by 8ft space, which then all were integrated together. My section started with sketch models, which were iterated multiple times. Then those small models were placed next to the rest of the models. Our final construction was integrated into the whole, and worked as the entrance to the chain of space. We built the final construction as a team in a limited amount of time, and it remained there on campus for students to interact with for about a week.

04. Bathroom Remodel Drywall, Drywall mud, tiling, paiting, finishes Over the summer I remodeled our small 5’ x 5’ 6” powder room. With help from my Dad I ripped out all the drywall and installed new drywall. On my own I then did the drywall mudding and sanding. I layed the tile and grouted. I painted the walls, ceiling, door and base boards. I designed the bathroom on an extremely small budget, spending about $800. The colors of the bathroom were chosen off the mosaic tiling detail.

04. Artwork Watercolor, Colored Pencil, Pen
