INTRODUCTION Boston Design Week is new to the city, following many cities in their quest for a successful festival centered around design. Design Week here in Boston started in 2014 and runs for about twelve days every year in the spring.

The goal of Boston Design Week is to educate those who are not necessarily aware that design is a big part of our world.

Also, it gives the chance for the professionals of the industry and aspiring students to come together to open a dialogue about what is happening in today’s design innovation around the city. Events include lectures, studio tours, and more.

Boston Design Week is a non - profit with many partners.

AIGA Boston, Design Museum Boston, Harvard University, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design are some of the organizations involved in the support of Boston Design Week.

BRAINSTORMING With my research, I started to brainstorm in the form of a mind map. Forming connections helped create a list of 20 words that encapsulated the essence of Boston Design Week. With the fundamental ideas in mind, now I could start sketching.

MOOD BOARD For inspiration, I looked at what design in Boston looks like. I felt it was important to understand the designers here and what they were doing. I also looked at branding from a wider point of view, exploring fashion brands and other areas of design.

SKE TC HES I wanted to express the future of Boston design in a simple and geometric form. I did exploration with letter forms and also symbols that represent Boston and design.

DIGI TAL DEVELOPMENT In the digital environment, I started again with simple forms. I explored how dimensionality can play a role in the structure of design. Mainly I was drawn to the intersections of geometric forms to create something else within.
