CAPELET 6 & 7

~ BATHING SUIT ~ This bathing suit is a modern take on the undergarments during Ancient Rome. The bandeau top is related to the strophium Roman women wore in the gymnasium. As for the high waist bottom, it is an on trend silhouette. On the back of the bottom are petal appliques made of brocade. It is an ode to the decorative aspect that many men and women styled themselves with during the 18th century.

covering

This covering is based off the of the Ancient Egyptian kalasiris. Instead of a rectangular shape, I altered it to an inverted triangle, tapering at the ankles. This piece is sheer just like the sheath gowns of Ancient Egypt. The wide neck opening allows for the off the shoulder look, or even a low back or low front. The silhouette can also be altered if tied at the waist with a belt or more fabric.

~ cAPELET ~

This capelet is inspired by the capes worn by men and women during the Renaissance time period. The brocade fabric is also reminescent of the women’s dresses that used brocade fabric. In this capelet it is more of an understated quality.

The capelet can also worn like the European then it was worn off you can see in the

be styled to be mandeville. Back the shoulder as sketch above.
