Hello! Katy and Rhiannon, directors of Bright Boxes are also the directors of Bright Shadow, a charity which enables people with dementia and those that love and care for them to live well and to thrive. Bright Shadow uses creativity to provide brighter quality dementia care which is mood-boosting, invigorating and relationship enhancing. Bright Shadow achieves brighter quality care through the delivery of their Zest workshops: themed, participatory and multi-activity sessions. Their Zest approach has been tried, tested and evaluated and has proven to improve the wellbeing of people with dementia-as well as those delivering the care. We would love to see everyone working in care applying the Zest approach to activities! However, lots of people have told us that there isn’t always the time, space or energy to keep thinking of new ideas as well as finding all the resources needed to deliver meaningful group activities that will engage a number of diverse individuals. This is why we created Bright Boxes! In each Bright Box resource you will find all the ideas, step-bystep guides and materials that you need to deliver creative and meaninful activities with people with dementia. Our Activity Kits also provide all of the physical resources so all you need to do is lift off the lid! All our resources are inspired by Bright Shadow’s tried, tested and evaluated Zest workshop model, so you can rest assured that you are in safe hands. 2

Bright Boxes for groups Bright Boxes For Groups are resources that enable anyone, anywhere to run themed, sensory and multi activity sessions with older people and those with dementia, inspired by Bright Shadow’s tried, tested and evaluated activity approach.
Bright Boxes Activity Kits Our themed Bright Boxes Activity Kits provide everything you need to run a themed activity session, including all physical resources and an Activity Booklet which contains workshop plans, guidance notes, scripts and prompts for activities such as warm-ups or dance routines. They come in two sizes: Starter Kits: Available in all three themes, the Starter Kit contains a collection of basic items common to all themes. It also contains a collection of items specific to the theme of your Starter Kit which you use along with the basic items. Extension Kits: After buying your first theme as a Starter Kit, you can purchase additional themes as Extension Kits which simply provide the themed items which you can use along with the basic items you have previously bought in the Starter Kit.
Bright Boxes Activity Booklets If you have all the resources and just want the ideas, workshop plans and guidance notes then you can purchase the Activity Booklet separately. These come both Printed and PDF formats and include a list of resources that you will need.

Bright Boxes One to One Bright Boxes One to One are resources to help you spend meaningful time with a person with dementia in a one to one setting. Designed to be dipped in and out of and providing various levels of activities, these resources can be used by anyone, whether are an activities co-ordinator, manager, carer, hospitality/domestic staff or visiting relatives.
Whats in the Box? All our Bright Boxes One to One kits include a variety of activity types including: dance and exercise DVDs, creative writing, conversation starters, sensory stimulation, games, quizzes, cooking, music, craft, things to do when out and about and a party plan. Each One to One kit contains over 42 separate activities and over 70 opportunities for conversation and interaction.
Bright Boxes Activity Kits The Bright Boxes Activity Kits provide both an Activity Booklet which contains all the ideas and activity instructions, as well as some of the physical resources you need.
Bright Boxes Activity Booklets The Activity Booklet is available separately and also includes any worksheets such as crosswords and scoresheets. They also come with the dance and exercise videos as a DVD with the Printed format or online access with the PDF format.
