Galileo’s Key club has had a great start of the school year! Starting with our club fair, recruitment has gone amazing and we’ve hosted our biggest meeting to date! Our first volunteer event is coming up soon and we are pumped for FRN!

During club rush, the El Camino Keyclub office promotes the club. showcasing our pride and enthusiasm to motivate students to begin the new school year joining us, while highlighting our service waves!
On Thursday, August 29th, some 100 members of volunteering clubs from different schools were invited by Lion Dance ME (LDM) Workforce to help out at the North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament (NACIVT). The NACIVT is an annual event which takes place in major cities across the United States and Canada. This year, it was held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco marking their 79th anniversary.

Volunteers were tasked with setting up volleyball courts to prepare for the highly anticipated tournament. The NACIVT was set to take place over Labor Day Weekend. It held matches for volleyball teams from around the U.S. and Canada.
Some volunteers provided additional assistance with the event by helping with clean-up after the Lion Dance closing ceremony, which spanned over the weekend.

What is SOSP?
The Spotlight on Service Program is a CNH program designed to promote the service goalsoftheCNHDistrict. By focusing on different themes each month, clubs are able to host a varietyofservice,social, and fundraising events that all go towards important causes in the community.
❖ UNICEF Awareness
➢ You can create posters and posts of social media telling more people about UNICEF
❖ Make Hand Warmers
➢ You can organize a service event to make warmers as it gets chillier
❖ Make Candy Bags With Kids
➢ Work with a youth organization to make candy bags in time for Halloween.
In order to receive recognition, clubs can submit on the SOSP form. This can be found under the “Spotlight on Service Program” page under the “Projects” tab on the CNH CyberKey or at https://tinyurl.com/SOSP2425. All submissions are due on the fifth of the following month by 6:00 PM (PST) or 3:00 PM (HST). One or more clubs are featured every month in the District Newsletter in recognition of any outstanding service project!
