LO G O

minimum size Do not go smaller than 1.5 in. Use mark for anything smaller than this. (see mark use on pg. 4.)

DO Use the logo with a transparent background. Place it over photos, textures, and other backgrounds as long as the type is still clearly legible. If a situation arises when the type is no longer legible, substitute the original logo file out for the logo_rev.eps file, which has white type (far right). If the logo is still illegible, consider changing its position, changing the background, or possibly using the mark (see pg. 4).

DON’T Do not resize the logo without preserving its original proportions. Do not allow it to become distorted. Do not rotate the logo. Do not place the logo in a setting without ample surrounding margins. Do not place it where the type becomes illegible. Do not change the original colors, change the original type faces, or omit elements of the logo.

function The purpose of the mark is to stand in the logo’s place when the logo becomes illegible or unrecognizable. The mark functions as an extension of the logo, to be used when circumstances (typically limited space, complex backgrounds, etc.) make it difficult to use the original logo, but an element of the ministry’s identity still needs to be present. Think of it as the ministry’s stamp or emblem - the logo in its most simplistic form. It is often reserved for use exclusively in small scale, as the logo is reserved for medium to large scale.

MARK

DO Use the mark with a transparent background. Place it over photos, textures, and other backgrounds as long as the type is still clearly legible. If a situation arises when the type is no longer legible, substitute the original mark file out for the mark_rev.eps file, which has white type (center). If the mark is still illegible, consider changing its position, changing the background, or possibly using the mark_FullRev.eps (right). This mark should only be used in rare instances when both versions of the colored mark are unsuccessful.

DON’T Do not resize the mark without preserving its original proportions. Do not allow it to become distorted. Do not rotate the mark. Do not place the mark in a setting without ample surrounding margins. Do not place it where the type becomes illegible. Do not change the original colors, change the original type faces, or omit elements of the mark. Do not use the mark in situations where the logo will suffice.

Headings and subheadings can use any of these colors, given the proper visual context.

PA N T O N E

The green tones (especially 167-3U) are mainly meant for accent elements, such as graphics. These tones can be used (within reason) in body text to emphasize elements, or occasionally an important section of type, such as a photo caption or block quote. Body text and most other text should be kept to the grey tones, usually black.

subbrand function

events / ministry functions

These files should only be used for internal ministry materials (ie: powerpoint slides, forms, printed materials, etc.) that pertain to the respective specific area of ministry. The same rules listed earlier for the original logo and mark also apply to the logos and marks for these subbrands.

Events or ministry functions that require additional designed materials (ie: bible study, Coffee with Carmen, etc.) can have a relatively unique look, but they still must be identifiable with the ministry look as a whole and often times inclusive of the respective logo or subbrand logo. Materials for larger functions should come through the graphics department for developement.

SUBBRANDS

profile picture

cover picture

Use the mark, as this icon becomes rather small when shown beside posts..

This photo can be changed out from time to time with preference. It can feature a photo and quote like the one above, a verse, or possibly even function as promotion for an event.

photo usage Unsplash is a website that offers royalty free stock photos. There is a collection titled “Chapel Green Womens” that is full of photos that would work very well with the style laid out in this design guide. The designer will work to keep this updated as best as is possible, but this site adds new content fairly frequently, so it’s possible potentially usable photos may slip through undetected. This being said, photo usage is not strictly limited to this collection of photos on this particular site, but it is encouraged to search here first. If a desirable photo is not found in the collection, try typing something in the search bar of the site. If you’re still coming up empty, try rewording the search or checking Pexels.com (a similar site, also royalty free) instead.
