It is that time of year again that most of us are heading back school. Oh boy- where did our summer go??? Many of you spent the summer learning with the Innovative Educator Consulting team, many of you spent time in your districts teaching and learning about those “new initiatives” you have underway to support student achievement and its impact, and many of you took a mental health break to rejuvenate and refresh to make for a fresh start for August- good for you! Tap into the latest Digital Buzz Radio Show and listen and learn about the “Global Selfie Stick Project” and find out how you and your students can join in, and actively participate to build a community of global learners through visual literacy projects and utilizing a selfie stick for educational good.
Many ideas will be shared of how to model and implement digital literacy best practices with your students and with grade level sections of Prek-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Naomi will incorporate the ISTE Student Standards and Student Profiles to compliment the grade level student learning experiences and projects you can use tomorrow in your classroom. During this global collaboration selfie stick project, we will explore 7 online quests composed of game-based learning challenges to have each of you and your students critically think, problem solve and discover educational and purposeful ways to utilize selfie sticks in your classroom, in your school or in your home environment to empower student and teacher learning.
In Naomi’s “back to school” radio show at the end of August, she will be sharing inspiring ideas of building a community of global learners with a selfie stick project.
