It is that time of year again that most of us are heading back school. Oh boy- where did our summer go??? Many of you spent the summer learning with the Innovative Educator Consulting team, many of you spent time in your districts teaching and learning about those “new initiatives” you have underway to support student achievement and its impact, and many of you took a mental health break to rejuvenate and refresh to make for a fresh start for August- good for you! We are adding to that fresh start of the new school year by providing you a “Back To School” edition of the Tech Bytes eNewsletter to add inspirational ideas and activities to build a community of learners in your classroom and with your staff. We have carefully chosen credible back to school, building a community of learners, and brain-based teaching resources that you can use tomorrow in your teaching and learning environment, which will also allow you to put your own digital creation spin on the final productions to share with your students. Don’t forget to check out the latest additions in the Intel Education section of the Tech Bytes newsletter from Deb Norton and Naomi Harm on must have Fall gadgets, must have apps to aid in your productivity and efficiency, and a brand new global collaboration project on selfie sticks. Yes, selfie sticks- how you can use them for educational good to build a visual literacy community of learners to provide students choice and voice in their learning. Additional bonus - we have also included our dynamic Fall lineup of professional development workshops on classroom redesigns, brain-based teaching and learning, everything Google and iPad digital creation, coding in the classroom, makerspaces and so much more. We hope you can join us, and/or request to be a Fall hosting site to bring the teaching and learning to you! We have also added a great collection of educational grants to help support and fund materials needed to redesign your classroom learning spaces, and provide supportive resources to promote math, reading and science literacy for the months of August and September. Welcome back everyone and enjoy the start of the new school year! Naomi Harm and the Innovative Educator Consulting Team
