Greetings and Happy June!

You did it! Many congrats as you close out another school year or are in your final days before summer. We want to wish you a blessed and joyous time to reconnect with yourself, family, and friends! Thanks for all you have done! We know the sacrifices you have made over the past year and you are looking forward to time outdoors, enjoying the weather, and working in some fun family excursions.

Knowing this time of year has so many other demands for teachers time, we decided to do something a little different as we close out the academic year. If you are looking for some summer learning opportunities we have a wide array of options available to you. See page two for a list of our summer workshops. During our summer tech academies we will not be producing our regular monthly installment of Technology Bytes. We will produce a Back to School issue once again come mid-August and pick up with all new resources you may have missed over the summer months. Host Site: Wisconsin Rapids School District Join us for a day that allows participants to pick and choose their own learning adventure, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and time to collaborate and create through each session. Explore topics including Google, iPads, Makerspaces, assessments, and much much more!

June 16 - 17 Summer Tech Splash

Host Site: Iowa-Grant School District This innovative technology event will offer dynamic learning opportunities to focus on building a collaborative culture to learn and lead in the digital age. The technology infused sessions will inspire team collaboration, sharing of digital resources, and investigating and tinkering with new ideas.

July 7 - 8 Get Your Google On Technology Academy Host Site: Madison School District

Join us for a two day event that allows participants to explore the wide variety of Google tools available. Attendees will be able to select topics that meet their needs and designed to support them at their level. All Google topics are on the docket to allow you to collaborate and deliver classroom learning opportunities in an all new way.

July 9 Mastering the Google Apps Admin Console Host Site: Waunakee School District

The Google Apps Admin Console gives you interactive and cloud-based control over how Google Apps services are administered and implemented across your district’s GAFE domain. This hands-on and interactive workshop will cover all the ins and outs of mastering the Google Admin Console, while demonstrating many best practices in managing and maintaining your GAFE domain,including managing users, organizational units and groups; core Google Apps, additional Google services, and Google Marketplace Apps; as well as Admin roles and auditing & reporting.

July 21 - 22 The K-12 Learning Space Symposium

WEMTA and ICE members receive a discounted rate!

Host Site: Arrowhead School District This exciting event will enable participants and school teams to explore the design of 21st Century learning spaces and how they support a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including personalized and brain-based learning.

Participants will have the opportunity to vision and plan spaces through a design challenge that will be supported by a lineup of thought-provoking sessions facilitated by five widely recognized speakers and industry partners.

July 28 - 29 Get Your Google On Technology Academy Host Site: Medford School District

Join us as we cover a broad topic of all things Google.

Multiple sessions will run to allow attendees choice in their own learning and cover topics for all levels of users. A few of the topics will include, but are not limited to Google Apps for Education (GAFE), Flipped Teaching using Chrome Apps and YouTube Video Assignments, Visual Literacy Trips using Google Lit Trips and Google Maps, as well as student multimedia creation projects using Chrome Apps.

August 4 - 5 Summer Tech Splash

Host Site: Medford School District This two day tech splash event will cover a variety of topics to change your classroom instruction, engage student learning, and bring the fun back into classroom teaching and learning. Multiple sessions will run to allow attendees choice in their own learning and cover topics for all levels of users. A few of the topics will include, but are not limited to makerspaces, programming and robotics in the classroom, iPad creation sessions, personalizing student learning, and Global Collaboration Projects.

August 11 - 12 Summer Tech Splash

Host Site: Portage School District This innovative technology event will offer dynamic learning opportunities to focus on building a collaborative culture to learn and lead in the digital age. The technology infused sessions will inspire team collaboration, sharing of digital resources, and investigating and tinkering with new ideas.
