February is our celebration birthday month for Innovative Educator Consulting (IEC). This month IEC is celebrating its 6th year of business in the edtech sector. As many of you know, this edtech company grew out of a personal and professional passion driven by Naomi Harm - to inspire technology leadership to transform teaching and learning in the K-16 educational space. There is and always will be a high need for professional development for educators and administrators, but Naomi and her team strive to offer innovative and hands-on edtech learning opportunities that are purposeful and empowering to ALL educators. These edtech trainings have led to documented transformations of improving a teacher’s instructional delivery approach with students, strategies to improve classroom management techniques, enhancements to an educator’s technology literacy skill set, and exemplar lesson ideas to motivate and personalize student learning to ultimately impact student achievement. Collaboration, communication, and a shared vision from all stakeholders are the key principles to drive change in our educational world and in our organization, and IEC is here to partner with you to inspire lifelong technology leadership to transform your mobile teaching and learning environments.

There is a lot of discussion over Future Ready schools lately. From an event with the POTUS at the White House to discussions, chats, and even a Pledge ~ the Future Ready conversation is bouncing around the US! This movement is set to maximize opportunities for school

The Allegiance for Excellent Education and the U.S. Department of Education have shared that less than 30% of U.S. schools have the bandwidth they need to teach using the technology tools of today. Federal and state efforts are focused to ensure that 99% of our nation’s students have access to high-speed internet in their schools within the next five years!

the following: the Future Ready School District Pledge; what constitutes a future ready school; the “ConnectED to the Future” Superintendent Summit kickoff event at the White House; various roles educators play in a Future Ready School; and how school districts and educators can become part of the Future Ready effort. Have the conversation in your district and be sure to invite your Superintendent to sign the Future Ready School District Pledge!
