We have used NMBDT to board our 2 boys a few times now. Having a senior dog and young adolescent dog, they both have very different daily needs in terms of exercise and medication. I am so grateful to Helen and Jake for providing a safe and fun-filled environment for both of my dogs!

Helen at NMBDT knew the history our family had with an aggressive dog. Having had dogs my whole life, that experience broke me and made the whole family not want another dog. She took time, calls, messages all no charge, to help us heal. She helped us find the perfect breed, with the right temperament, and energy level. We did all training through NMBDT and have the best family member. NMBDT is a true caring, fully supportive business. With laughs too! The best.

NMBDT is so much more than a dog training facility. I learned far more about myself and proper ways to understand Sherman then I ever knew possible. Helen and her whole crew have listened, helped, understood, and supported Sherman in his journey since we adopted him. But they taught me to listen to him communicating with me more then anything. Reactive rover was one of our best courses on learning how to comfort him in times of stress. Thank you all for all your dedication and hard work! Sherman’s looking forward to his first sleep over too!

By offering private consults Helen helped integrate Stevie into the family. She was patient with all of us and helped intro Stevie to his brother and sister (Jack Russell rescues with huge personalities). She patiently explained how to make Stevie feel at ease and the cues to use for a blind dog. She even ran over and carried him down the stairs when I couldn’t get him to budge. Stevie is now so happy here and fits right in. Many thanks to Helen and NMBDT.

Roxy and Dembe have participated in several classes, and have been attending the day training program once a week for the past year. Dembe has improved his impulse control, and Roxy has become significantly more confident and less reactive. Our dogs are happier because of NMBDT!

“Learn him - his behavior patterns, his likes and dislikes, his way of interacting with the world. We’re not here to change Lenny, we need to set him up for success by knowing him and what he needs.”

Those are some of the words Helen said to me as I cried in her office following some reactivity incidents within our 3-dog household. This advice changed our lives. Instead of trying to change Lenny, we embraced everything about him and started to predict what he would do and when. Shifting the way we thought about dog training showed us that we could live with and improve his reactivity. Helen helped us to not be scared and unsure. She gave us confidence in our ability to live together happily and healthily - and now we do.

Helen St. Pierre helped normalize muzzle wearing. Allowed our reactive boy to enjoy things he might not have otherwise been able to.

NMBDT saved my sanity with my beautiful Belgian Tervuren, Clark. He was a tough, reactive, highly anxious puppy/adolescent, now, after consults, many group classes, and a lot of hard work, he’s amazing. I’m so proud of him but couldn’t have done it with the NMBDT team!!

Baxter has come a long way from Puppy Kindergarten, level 1, level 2, day training and looking forward to off leash training soon! He has had many compliments on his manners in all situations.

Oliver has come such a long way, we could not have done it without Helen and her wonderful Staff at NMBDT. He was such a tough reactive puppy/adolescent and Adult dog. Some days I did not think we would be able to handle him, but with much love and encouragement and hard work from Helen and her Staff he is such a sweet gentle good boy, who now helps us take care of my 88 year old Dad at home

Two rescue weimaraners, Bella and Buddy, benefitted greatly from NMBDT, especially Buddy. He was emaciated when we adopted him from an abuse situation when he was 2.5 years old, and extremely reactive to dogs, people, bikes…I couldn’t even walk him properly because he would chase trucks! For over two years we worked with Helen and the transformation in both me and Buddy was amazing. We walked everywhere and his reactivity decreased by 10 fold. He got to the point that when he saw a truck moving toward him he would sit automatically. He lived almost 12 more years as a wonderful companion and family member - couldn’t have done this without Helen and her team.
