This job entails covering several Monadnock region towns and includes a bit of everything: government and education reporting, breaking news, features and sports.

The ideal candidate has a willingness to learn new skills and likes moving at a quick pace, has good news judgment and a desire to know what’s happening in the region. The ideal candidate is organized with good time management skills, some writing experience, proficiency with social media and basic photo skills.

The position will require some evening hours and some weekend work. Must have a valid driver’s license and properly insured motor vehicle.

We are seeking candidates to fill two positions in the Department of Public Works:

Light Equipment Operator – Grounds Maintenance – Full-time

The person in this position is focused on maintenance of grounds. Other responsibilities include truck driving and operation of equipment to accomplish the regular and recurring installation, repair, and maintenance work in maintaining roads and other duties as assigned. Preferred candidate has knowledge of and experience with operating dump trucks, front end loader, backhoe and a variety of hand and power tools. Solid Waste Facility Attendant – Part-time

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the operation of the Transfer Station and for all recycling processing. This is a part-time position (30 hrs./wk.) and hours worked include weekend days and some holidays. Overtime may be required.\

Successful applicant will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have or be able to obtain within one year a State of New Hampshire Weigh master’s license and New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Solid Waste Facility Level II certification.

The salary range is $14.93-$20.91 per hour depending on experience. This position includes holiday, sick, and vacation time.
