KCC UPCOMING EVENTS KOREAN TRADITIONAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE “우리소리 우리가락” 발표회 How far do you know about Korean music performance? Do Taepyungmu, Geommu, or Pansori sound familiar to you? If not, you might want to visit Korean Cultural Center on November 23, 2013 to check the Korean Traditional Music Performance. On November 23, Korean traditional music performance by King and Queen of Joseon Dynasty, or warriors armed with swords and courage, will be presented in the stage at Korean Wave Hall, Korean Cultural Center.
Hanbit Performing Arts Company 2013 concert tour in the Philippines
Warm melodies played by the brightest orchestra, percussion ensemble, and violin will warm your heart on a chilly day! On November 26, Hanbit Performing Art Company will present the elegant musical performances at Henry Lee Erwin Theater, Ateneo University. Hanbit Performing Art Company is composed of the professional musical performance teams which consist of very talented blind musicians including Hanbit Orchestra, BRASS Ensembles. 2013 KOREAN FILM FESTIVAL
How was your Korean movie night? For a last few weeks, Korean Cultural Center’s 2013 Korean Film Festival had been showing six overwhelming Korean films including Green Days (소중한 날의 꿈), Masquerade (광해), Sunny (써니), A Werewolf Boy (늑대소년), Deranged (연가시), and Dancing Queen (댄싱퀸) in Manila, Iloilo, Sebu, and Davao. More than twenty thousand people came to enjoy this year’s Korean film festival.
TOPIK Congratulations for all that your exam is over! The test result will be published about a month later, and the certificate for 32nd TOPIK will be available after another month after then. For now, let’s wait for the result, and have some fun!
RECENT EVENTS Hangeul Day Celebration: The KCC Golden Bell Challenge
Korean Cultural Center held a special event, KCC Golden Bell Challenge, to celebrate the Hangeul Day on the last October 9. As following the format of a well-known TV show in Korea, the 50 selected participants were given the questions about Korea which were randomly chosen among the 60 questions which were given prior to the event. Participants had to answers all the questions in Korean, which could be difficult, but it has been said that KCC staffs had a hard time choosing next question since everyone was so well-prepared. Great job everyone, and congratulations for the winner!
Winter Snacks in Korea: jinppang (Steamed Bread), bungeoppang (Fish Bread), and hotteok (Sweet stuffed pancake) At this point of the year in Korea, the autumn slowly goes away as the winter is coming. There are a lot of things to say about the winter in Korea, but one of the greatest things is the winter snacks in this season of Korea!
