In October, Korea celebrates two national holidays. Gaecheon-jeol, or National Foundation Day in Korea, is at October 3, and Haneul-nal or Hangeul Day, is at 9. Gaecheon-jeol is the day for celebrating the creation of the country. Hanguel is the name of Korean alphabet and writings in Korean, promulgated by King Sejong the Great, the fourth king of the Joseon Dynasty. In Hangeul day, people take a moment to celebrate the invention of Hangeul, and the beauty and originality it has.
