I've admired Architecture & Design for as long as I can remember. I always knew this was the field that I wanted to pursue and I am lucky to have made a career out of something that I enjoy so much. I have spent the past 10 years learning the ins and outs of corporate retail. As a result, I offer a unique blend of talents that range from marketing, space planning, furniture design, digital rendering, to project management. I get excited about evolving my technical skillset and learning new techniques.

Southpark Shoe Remodel Furniture Design, Store Layout, Modeling, Rendering
The challenge: Belk was newly rebranded and was seeking a clean, bold look. For the flagship stores, the shoe department was an opportunity to highlight through a renovation. The pilot program for this test was for Belk Southpark Mall. The solution: The goal was to reduce the amount of wood grain in the space, lighten the fixtures, and allow the product to really shine. My team and I designed a cube series that was interlocking and had an interchangeable layout that allowed flexibility on the store floor. The metals were switched from chrome to a black powder coated meal with brushed nickel accents. The renovation would include the removal of a center wall and several lighting additions throughout the space. The renovation was not completed as the company had to move in another direction. However, I completed all furniture design, store layout, 3D modeling, and rendering shown in the following photos.

Lightning Bug
Furniture Design & Procurement, Store Layout, Modeling, Rendering
The challenge:
Belk launched a kids private brand clothing line called Lightning Bug and was looking for a pop up shop experience in store. The shop
included all furniture design and procurement, store layouts for 70 stores, and created a kid-friendly / family vibe. The solution:
The design was based around a "playhouse" that housed smaller products and a bookshelf that created a backdrop to the space.
Other furniture designed for this shop included a bed, a picnic style nested table, a gondola and a branded sign. It was important to
create fixtures that were kid safe, asumming kids may try to climb on these fun pieces. The house and gondola were flexible in that they
could be shelved or hung depending on the merchandise need that season. I worked with a vendor on prototyping and manufacturing
all furniture items in this series, purchasing them, and having them distributed to 70 stores.

2019 NIKE ALLSTAR CHARLOTTE Store Layout, Scrim design & Procurement, Modeling, Rendering
The challenge:
After unveiling the 2019 Jordan Brand NBA All-Star uniform and
footwear collections, Nike and Jordan Brand invited the community
to get in volved in NBA All-Star Weekend to celebrate the launch of
"Own The Game," a film tribute to basketball legends who've owned their game on and off the court. The solution:
To celebrate this, we took the center stairwell and key store focal
points as an opportunity to showcase the Nike product, highlighting the areas with Nike branded floor tape. For the main pop up shop,
we designed the space to look similar to a basketball court and hung transparent skrims behind the mannequins and product. While the event was only 3 days long, it generated an increase in foot traffic resulting in positive sales for the Nike product. All preliminary
modeling and rendering for this pop-up shop was completed by myself and pitched to our CEO for approval prior to the event.

Open Sell Shoes
Furniture Design & Procurement, Store Layout, Modeling, Rendering
The challenge:
As the headcount in Belk stores was reduced, the shoe department attendant was covering multiple areas of the store leaving them
unavailable for customers needing to try on shoes. As a result, our merchants and buying office launched an open sell shoe strategy
where customers could self serve their shoe size prior to purchase. The solution:
After partnering with the teams on the merchandising need, I de-
signed a shoe gondola and end cap that held standard shoe boxes. The gondola had flexibility to adjust to larger boot boxes during the
Holiday season. After design was finalized, I partnered with a vendor to have the fixture prototyped and manufactured. We had the
fixtures shipped to 120 stores for launch, but later rolled out the program to all 293 stores. The program resulted in an 8% lift to Belk's company shoe sales.

The new fixtures, identified in red are what was delivered to stores. The gondolas
had casters on the base of the fixture so that installation that required entry and exit through a freight elevator was achievable.
