Personal Statement : I believe that our industry goes beyond floorplans and visual renderings. The extent of effect that architecture has, impacts the way we live and perceive the world, how the spaces we design and create constantly changes people’s lives. I believe preserving and embracing our architectural heritage whilst challenging what we have previously perceive as reality. The phenomenology in our spaces defines who we are as designers, not only in the utility and aesthetics. Work experience : Nov 2020 - Jan 2021

KwongTong Cemetery Funeral Parlour and Management
Design Intention : The site is located at the KwongTong Cemetery, the main programmes for this building includes two funeral parlours, prayer spaces, columbariums and crematorium. Design Concept : The juxtaposition of the building creates quartiers around. This also creates a centralized spatial experience where the building is surrounded by the lake, cemetery, forest and city views. The disperse positioning of the spaces provides an explorative journey of different sets of moods at different spaces. This goes back to phenomenology and philosophical factors of architecture.
