We would like to present you the photo gallery – exhibition of the Erasmus+ youth exchange project “Capture The Moment” that took place in Lithuania between 25th October – 3rd November 2023, during which the participants from four countries: Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Estonia explored the topics of photography and entrepreneurship. Our project consisted of facing the problem of low employability in youth and inspire young people’s active involvement in entrepreneurial activities by developing skills in photography and raising awareness of this field as a solution for employment and self-employment. Objectives of the project were to introduce participants to all creative stages of photography, to increase the confidence of participants to engage in entrepreneurial activities using photography and to raise the awareness of participants to entrepreneurial activities they can engage in by having photography skills. During 10 days together the participants explored the topics of entrepreneurship and photography, got a chance to have a hands on experience on photography, including planning, shooting and editing. They also discovered the Erasmus+ programme and its opportunities. The effort of the participants was crowned with the public event at the end of the project during which the participants presented the results of their final project – the photo exhibition, which was broadcasted live! The project made a great impact for the participants allowing them to broaden their horizons, explore different cultures, find new friends and increase their future opportunities of employability. CYBER BULLYING
Everybody has a feeling of safety and anonymity on the internet and so did Lily. She was a wellliked person at school and brave. But one night she made a horrifying discovery. She was being exposed and cyberbullied by a complete stranger that leaked her private photos and somehow knew everything about her. So, she decided to request help on social media on how to handle this situation. She didn't know how to take down her photos so she decided to ask for help but as always people on the internet weren't so nice as in real life. Since she didn't find any support on the internet, she decided to take things into her own hands because she solved all of her problems on her own and the first thing that sprung to her mind was meeting the person in real life since she knows how to handle social interactions. She confronted him in real life because he cannot hide behind his anonymity. She sat on a bench, all nervous her hands were sweating she could barely breathe when suddenly her hearth stopped someone tapped her on the shoulder!!! She turned around, and there he was, this ugly fat dude who was a definition for a cyberbully. He looked like a total creep, and Lily couldn't believe it. She gave it to him bluntly and fought him off. After the meeting the girl began to seek help and a therapist. Even with the help the girl was struggling and one night she decided to disappear and not be seen on the internet for a long time. Till this day we do not know what has happened to her.
BODY POSITIVITY
The story started 12 years ago on the playground. Thomas Burger and Kat were childhood best friends. But once they reach teenage years, everything has changed. Now Kat doesn’t like the reflection in the mirror she sees everyday and Thomas started getting bullied for his last name and looks. Out of desperation Kat decides to become friends with two guys: Jacob, who lives only with his mother and doesn’t get enough attention from her, tries to get it from picking on others, and Kaur, who is a short guy and tries to get his strength from always showing up his fists. Kat left Thomas all by himself. In general, he didn’t have good time at school. He felt humiliated, betrayed and lonely like never before.
One day the bullies find out about Kat's friendship with Thomas and start laughing at Kat. Now she thinks she is a betrayer and because of that she feels depressed guilty for her actions and for leaving Thomas. Kat asks him for his forgiveness. Thomas decides to forgive her, so they reunite. The next time bullies start picking on Kat, Thomas steps up to protect her. Time by time they started healing together and are coping with it for now, but unfortunately we’ll never know, will they recover entirely or will their insecurities reappear.
CULTURAL DIFFERENCES
The company had arranged a holiday in a remote cottage for its employment, a chance for them to relax and bound. Jake, Brigita and Dragos had arrived first. They like to party and spend time with each other. While they were partying, smoking and drinking, their Muslim colleague Michael arrived. He doesn't like to party because of his religious background. The colleagues weren't excited about his arrival. They always thought that this group of people are less smart and don't deserve to be treated well. The culture of Jake and his colleagues couldn't have been more different from Michael's, so they really disrespected him. After they met one of the workers, they suggested Michael to drink some alcohol, but after his refusal, they threw the Muslim to the floor and broke a bottle on his head. The wound on his head started bleeding and the group of men were making fun of it. Michael felt really scared and disappointed. He had never thought that cultural differences would be a reason for bullying. On the next day, Jake and his friends continued to offend him. They poured coffee on his clothes on purpose, made jokes about him and tried to suffocate him with a pillow. Michael no longer had the strength to endure the abuse, but he couldn't go home, because the abusers said they would kill him, so he decided to commit suicide. Everyone is different, but everyone is equal.
SUICIDAL PREVENTION
In a heart of bustling city there was boy called Adam. He sadly grew up in family consisting of abusive, alcoholic father and mentally unstable mother. Adam had hard time at home and always wanted to have normal life. At another site of city there was his sad classmate Andrei. There wasn’t a single day when Andrei wasn’t bullied by Adam. He felt alone and always stuck in corner without anyone that can help him. The school trip was announced and everybody were excited about it but unfortunately Andrei couldn’t afford it and Adam made fun of him. Andrei wanted so bad to go on trip that he found a job in neighbors garden. Eventually he earned money for the trip and his hope was renewed. Meanwhile at Adams home there was breathtaking argument about his parents not giving him money for the trip. Because of that he stole jewelry from their drawer, sold it and went to the trip. At the camp, there was girl named Sofia. She was pretty, smart but she didn’t know what she wants in life. Rivalry between Adam and Andrei grew up because they both fell in love with her. Few days later at camp, Sofia fell in love with Adam. Sadly, Andrei notice it and his heart felt emptier than ever. When they came back from the camp Adam`s father took his phone away, despite this action Sofia was upset and angry so she broke up with him. Both broken hearts of Adam and Andrei brought them at the same spot in exact same moment to do one of the worst things in life. But because they stumbled upon each other they discovered their problems and swallowed the anger.
POWER OF VOICE
It all started on the first day of high school. Arianda was a shy girl with a good heart but unfortunately she was too easy to influence and with a low self esteem but she had two really good friends Maggi who was a lovely girl and Gabija who was a supportive friend. Iulian was selfish and disrespectful guy who thought he was so cool and superior. And now it’s me, I was a shy and quiet girl who didn’t want to get involved in the story at first. On the first day of school in the vibrant hallway, we buzzed with joy and anticipation. There was a lot of fun. A lot of amazing people and me Gabija and Arianda were so excited. Until Iulian’s arrival that atmosphere was peaceful, but when he arrived and began teasing Arianda, the unexpected turn when we wanted to be as a popular as Iulian started teaching here as well I was profoundly affected the next day at school, Iulian, and my former friends spread damaging humour about me, and their power of voice lead to wine, spread belief. My life took a sober after that moment, and they plugged into a profound sadness. Arianda appeared upset. Her silence and distress were so obvious and noticeable. That was the moment when I realised that I have to do something I have to help her. I have to be brave and face Iulian. After Elena confronted me, I realised how much bad influence I had to Arianda and promised myself that I will change for better. My profound sorrow drew me to contemplate, leaving town, seeking solace and a fresh start elsewhere. Before Arianda left town I went to her and made an apology. She understood that I’ve changed and accepted my apologies After this, we all became friends.
EATING DISORDER
Marie was pretty and friendly girl but she did not love herself. She started to compare herself to others. She wanted to have smaller waist, bigger hips and rounder butt. Her body was changing and a little girl was becoming a woman. At that point in her life the voice appeared in her mind. The voice in her mind said that the best decision was to stop eating. She started to eat less and constantly thinking about food and how she looked. The mental anorexia completely consumed her. The mirror in her mind was showing her how fat she was. She listened to him and thought she would be happy. People around her began to notice her body. She was broken. Food has became the enemy. She had to eat during the weekend because her family didn’t know that she stopped eating. She vomited all the food she ate. That’s when it started - Anorexia nervosa began to alternate with bulimia nervosa. In the end her mind and Marie herself learned to live together and became friends. She trusted her inner voice now.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
*Kid's pov: Hi,it's me, Iustin, and this is my story. My mom, a kind-hearted optimistic family person, and my dad... a self absorbed drunk. Me and my mom got scared because my father didn't come home last night, after promising to come home early to play some chess with me. When he came home, he was holding a beer in his hand and went straight to the couch to watch some hockey on TV. Didn't say a single word... My mom sent me to my room and I immediately started crying, I could feel the anxiety pumping through my veins, knowing what's about to go on... *Mom's pov: He started hitting me and I could feel how much my child was frightened because of my screams and shouts. Iustin came to the kitchen and tried to protect me as much as possible, but he is just a small boy and couldn't do much. My husband pushed him to the floor. At that moment I felt so much anger and rage along with fear, so I grabbed the closest thing... a pan and I hit him... He passed out *Kid's pov: I then called the police to denounce him. I was so scared and I also felt guilty... but it was the right thing to do, because of his behavior. The police came and handcuffed him right in front of me, just a little child... And then he got under arrest and it was enough for us to pack our things and this time... Leave for good! BRUISES NOT ONLY ON OUR SKIN, BUT ALSO IN OUR HEARTS!
GENDER INEQUALITY
Once upon a time, there was a hardworking woman named Emily. She worked in a big office where Mr. Henderson was her boss. Mr. Henderson was never happy with anyone’s work. She wanted to show to everyone that she was really good at her job. Emily believed that men and women should be treated the same. Her best friend since childhood - Peter, was also working in the same office as her. He always encouraged Emily to fight for what she wants, until they got the news that one of them will be promoted. For Peter it was just about getting more money, while for Emily it was her dream coming true. In this moment, they started to realise that they have to go against each other. Emily stayed long hours in the office working hard at her presentation, while Peter was going out clubbing with their mutual friends. On the announcement day Emily was sure that she would get the job. But it was Peter instead. Her dream crashed. Emily asked her boss why she didn't get the promotion. Her boss reasoning was that she is only a woman and women can't be good leaders. After that Emily realised that no matter how much she tries her hard work will be for nothing because of the stereotype that men are better leaders.
