Top. The members of the Joseph C. Fox Latin School enjoyed WITNESS Day on October 7. This annual day of spirituality and fun included games, field activities, faith talks, and some friendly homeroom rivalry. Tyros Zachary Stennett ’27, Nick Signora ’27, and Bryce Valls ’27 take a break from the festivities to smile for the camera. 2. Congratulations to Squire Matthew Ippolito ’26 (right) and Tyro Gabriel Garo ’27 (left) on placing first and second in the annual Latin School Spelling Bee on October 26! On October 12, the Latin School Cadets went on the annual Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Island Shrine in Manorville, NY. The shrine, which is situated on one of the highest points on Long Island, was established by the Missionaries of the Company of Mary. The shrine represents the powerful renewal of the spirit of Christianity in the hearts of the faithful. Mass was celebrated outdoors at the Rock of Our Lady by Father Daniel Griffin, S.M. ’02, where the Cadets gather for a group photo. 4. The annual Latin School Thanksgiving Food Drive, which took place from November 15 to 18, was the most successful in history with nearly 9,000 non-perishable food items being collected. The food was donated to those in need at St. Brigid’s Parish Outreach in Westbury. Assistant Principal for the Brother Joseph C. Fox Latin School Ms. Maria Korzekwinski noted in an interview with The Phoenix’s Grace Garcia ’23, “It is important for us to realize that what we have has been given to us by God. We, in return, need to pay it forward. If we have received blessings, it is up to us to decide how to use what we have to help those less fortunate.” Tyro Elena Michel ’27 carries food donations to be brought to St. Brigid’s. LS Food Drive. 5. Cadet Christian Morrissey ’28 is all smiles under his mask as he loads soup onto the bus. 6. The Latin School celebrated its annual Halloween Party outdoors on October 29. The creative costumes included full-body inflatables, bumblebees, Harry Potter, detectives, professional athletes, the Grinch, Disney characters, and lifeguards. A ghoulishly good time was had by all! Vincent Castrofilippo ’27, it was just another day at The Office dressed as Dwight Schrute. 7. Tyros Julia Anderson ’27, Isabella D’Agostino ’27, and Veronica Braut ’27 brought home the gold as Team USA.
