Denovo Practice Success & Investing in Our Future
Craig Murray
Vice President of Real Estate & Strategic Initiatives
As we close out 2019 I look back at the amount of work that has been done across all regions and affi liations and am amazed at what our team has accomplished with the help of many outside of the Support Center.
WE HAVE COMPLETED FIVE DE NOVOS AND MULTIPLE RENOVATIONS:
BAYSTATE DENTAL OF SPRINGFIELD, MA TIOGA DENTAL IN GAINESVILLE, FL GENTLE DENTAL OF JENKINTOWN, PA KONIKOFF DENTAL IN LITTLENECK, VA BAYSTATE DENTAL OF HOLYOKE, MA
# 2 VITAL FEW
As of writing this, we have completed and are fi nishing up 89 offi ce refresh projects. We have another 21 that we are waiting on quotes or approvals. We will continue this momentum into 2020 with our planning. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you feel you have not been heard on the needs of your location. We need to prioritize them all, but all our offi ces need to be heard.
As we look ahead to 2020, we have two de novos looking to open in the fi rst quarter. Those are Advanced Dental Care of Daytona Beach with Dr. Melissa Colon, Tioga Dental at Celebration Pointe with Dr. Busch, Dr. Craighead and Dr. Potter.
Forever Family Dental of New Lennox with Dr. Courtney Botica, Klar Voorhees in Littleneck with Neal Klar, Marni Voorhees and Patrick Holmes, and Konikoff Dental in Edinburg all look to open in the 2nd quarter of 2020.
DCA is also planning to relocate a number of locations due to the lease being expired and a need to create a best in class environment for our teams. With the 2020 de novos, relocations, and expansions, we are looking at close to 20 large projects. This will be our biggest year yet. With our added team concentrating on our facilities and the ever growing footprint, we have kicked off some important programs.
The fi rst is a national partnership with Lennox HVAC. They will slowly become our national preferred contractor for all Preventative Maintenance (PM) and repair work. In many cases, we are legally obligated to have a PM program in place for the landlord. Under the leadership of Chuck Aldrich, we will be making sure we are compliant.
The second initiative will be to have all of our practices evaluated on the aesthetic appeal of the location. This is not to have a critical eye, but a way for us to prioritize the refresh program. A big factor I believe in becoming patient centric are the aesthetics of our practices.
To that end, we are exploring to identify a Facilities Management program that will best fi t our needs and goal to serve you better in response time, reporting and capital forecasting. We are getting close and we will have a robust training program prior to going live.
I look forward to what the end of 2019 brings and what 2020 holds. Please let us know what we can do to help.
Focusing on Successful New Partnerships
As the Dental Care Alliance family of affi liated practices continues to expand in sophistication and geography, the support and operations leadership teams are more committed than ever to creating value, unlocking growth opportunities and putting the practice fi rst. Earlier this year, Craig Murray was named as DCA’s dedicated point of contact for newly affi liated practices. Additional support and infrastructure in 2020 is expected to help lead new affi liation relations and assimilation eff orts, ensure operational success and drive team and doctor engagement and support.
