Why does my video have t o be on? Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual training was not an option for receiving recertifi cation points. Since we’ve all had to make adjustments this year in order to provide training opportunities for the water sector, the Georgia

Board of Examiners for the Certifi cation of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators and

Laboratory Analysts has made an allowance for virtual training; however, in order to receive your points, we need to physically see you attending the sessions so your video camera must be on and you must be visible on camera. Please do not aim the camera at the ceiling, off to the side, etc. If you need to step away for moment that is fi ne but you do need to be present and visible on camera.

Do you really have to see my face on screen? Yes, we really do! If your video isn’t on, or you aren’t visible in the video screen, we cannot award you points for the session(s). What if I am viewing the session with others at my facility, who have registered? Can we have multiple people logged in on one account? If you have a group of attendees at your location, who will be sharing a room (or rooms) to participate in sessions for the Virtual Fall Conference Series, please visit the conference registration page (www.gawp.org/events), click on the Annual Conference registration link, and scroll down the page to fi nd the ‘Groups’ option to fi ll out the group participation form. Is there a recertifi cation points form? No, there isn’t a form that you need to fi ll out. We will have a record of everyone that signed on to watch the session, including how long you were online, so you need to be there for the full two-hour session (there will be no partial points awarded).

How do you know what sessions I attend?

We are using the Zoom platform for our conference and will have a record of everyone who attends each session. We will compare this list with session registrations and attendees who registered and were visible online for the session will get a points certifi cate (two points per two-hour session). You will get a separate certifi cate for each session you register for and attend.

GAWP staff will be monitoring the sessions to make sure you are visible on camera and will record the gallery view of attendees, in case there is any dispute about points being awarded.

What will you do with the recorded sessions? The session recordings will be saved and only used as a reference if we need to confi rm attendance for recertifi cation points.

Will you be mailing my points certifi cate? We will not be sending certifi cates in the mail; they will be emailed to you at the email address you provided when you registered.

When will I get my points certifi cate(s)?

GAWP staff will work to provide you with your certifi cate(s) within two weeks of each session you attend. If you attended multiple sessions, you will get the certifi cates in multiple emails.

What if I think the points certifi cate is wrong? If you did not receive a points certifi cate for a session you attended, please contact us via email at memberservices@gawp.org. We will reference staff session notes and the session recording to verify/investigate.
