2-YEAR-OLD BULLS
Lots 1-20 Represent one of the best sets of 2-year-old bulls, that we have ever offered. We are very excited for you all to go through and evaluate this tremendous set of bulls. All bulls have been trich and semen tested by Dr. Ira Mickelsen. All bulls worked as yearlings, mostly in the Nevada desert, and Utah ranch. Bulls will all be able to handle a tremendous workload, and I would not hesitate to use these bulls at a 40:1 ratio. They’re all hard footed, know how to travel and breed cows. I cannot overestimate the importance of know-how; these bulls gain by working as yearlings. These bulls are not the leftovers from the previous year’s sale, on the contrary, these are some of my favorite bulls, of the 2021 calf crop. Bulls were grazed outside until the 1st of January before getting any harvested feed in the yard. For that reason, they will not be as big as other sales 2-year-old bulls, but they will be sounder and able to service more cows. If you’re into tons of numbers and EPDs you might be a little disappointed, but we try to put as much info as possible on their sires’ EPDs, but for the most part, EPD’S are at best an educated guess. Bid with confidence on these good 2-year-olds.

If you’re after a true CE bull, that will have your heifers thanking you, look no further than lot 4. Backed by the early calving genetics of his Connealy Comrade mother that always calves two weeks early, this bull is sure to carry the same genetics. Bull has a little Beefmaster, but you wouldn’t know it. He also carries just a little slope to his hip, which also ensures him to pass on his CE genetics to his daughters.

This bull will make more friends on sale day than a 10 year old at a pedophile conference. Dam weaned off over 60% of her body weight, on one of the driest years on record. Bull will also pass on early hair shedding genetics. Early shedding cows, will always be some of your most fertile cows.

What our customers have to say:
“We love to go to the Roche bull sale every year. The sale is always run professionally and they always stand behind their bulls. The bulls are great quality animals. They are gentle, built stocky and produce great calves that are born with ease. They stay with the cows well and make calves that are of weight in the fall.”
- Craig & Susan Fisher (Fisher Ranch)
“The main reason I take my dads check book and go by J6 bulls is mostly because I have a major crush on Hootie and Justin’s mom. But the other reason is the females we retain from J6 bulls are consistently the very best cows we have! You know if they are J6 bred they are going to perform in any conditions we can possibly put them in.”
- Rhett Munns (Slash M Ranch)
“Roche bulls we have bought aren’t scared to travel they don’t act like pasture pansies and live at the water trough they travel out and the cows come home pregnant! You know how it is you can buy the fanciest bull available and cows don’t get bred or bred up tight that bull ain’t worth much.”
- Josh Munns (Slash M Ranch)
Brown JYJ Redemption Y1334
This bull is as solid as they come both on paper and phenotypically speaking. Redemption is a household name in all aspects of the cattle industry. Whether for calving ease in heifers, moderate cow size or reeling in a herd’s inputs, or in elite donor nucleus programs, Redemption is still your go-to sire. He offers instant name recognition and calving ease for heifers and is ideal for putting downward pressure on feed inputs.
J6 Redemption 9053
Lots of performance but not too much to produce hard doing females. Take a chance to study his sire’s numbers as they cover all the bases for commercial cattle production. I’ve never had a black bull by Redemption, so I doubt this bull will throw much red, even though his perfect built dam is cherry red.
J6 Redemption 9035
You’re really going to like these Redemption sired cattle, this guy goes from a 60 lb. BW to 670 lb. weaning weight. Calving ease, performance and the ability to sire daughters that will thrive on minimal inputs.

Lots 9-14 represent the opportunity to take a step back in time and acquire some really neat genetics that can really move a herd of cattle in the right direction. Trask, the sire of lots 9-14 was born in 1961 and stems from the world famous herd of Neil Trask, who focused on cattle with ability to thrive in an all grazing environment, while maintaining fertility and longevity. The paternal grandam of these bulls produced to 18-years of age. These bulls will produce some of the very best replacement females, while siring bull calves that will perform on the ranch and in the feedyard. Additionally, they will hang a very nice carcass; Trask cattle excel for carcass quality. These brothers will impress and I’m excited for you to see them. Trask is a polled hereford. Lot 9 is not CE, but the rest of the brothers can be used on heifers.
