These yearling bulls may not be as big as others yearling bulls. They were grazed alongside their dams until late December. They were then weaned and put on a growing ration until sale day. The benefits of growing and raising these bulls this way is these bulls foraged with there mothers for 10 months, thus insuring proper development of there rumin and real world growth on forage. These bulls know how to forage and have a good set of wheels under them. We see no need to turn out a 1,400 lb. yearling in the summer and bring back a 700 lb. long yearling in the fall.

Effective is a low birthweight bull that does well in a multitude of other traits; moderate milk, high docility and heifer pregnancy especially. He lies in the top 15% of the breed for $EN.

Starting off the yearling bulls with a really nice bull by Schiefelbein

J6 Effective 0164

An efficient bull that’s smooth with lots of rib. His Absolute sired dam has perfect udder structure. Lot 30’s maternal grandam produced into her late teens, with 8 daughters being retained in the herd. Impressive 112 nursing ratio on this bull. Can be used on heifers.

With nearly identical growth levels to his sire, he offers enhanced Calving Ease, Rib Eye Area and Beef Value. High accuracy, sure-bet calving ease with solid growth, moderate mature size and outstanding scrotal circumference. Elevated In Focus Genetics. His daughters set him apart from the crowd - they are deep bodied and easy fleshing with fault free structure and udder quality.

J6 Focus 0127

A larger framed Focus son, that will pass on the In Focus type in his progeny. Take the time to study his sire’s numbers, he is very complete across the board. Backed by a nice uddered female with conservative milk, which is just right for the dry arid west.

J6 Focus 0116

Same story as lot 31. Bull has a shorter tail, a coyote possibly got a hold of him as a calf; he had an ear that was bit up pretty bad as well.

Lots of rear end in this bull - reminds me of the Super Bowl halftime. Bull comes with a lot juice on top and bottom of pedigree for growth. If you’re after more growth and power this will be a bull to consider. Not recomended for heifers.

Charlo has worked very well in commercial heifer projects, with reports of calving easily, and explosive growth on the calves. Charlo’s calves look a lot like him, very wide-based, big-topped, lots of muscle expression and long-sided. Charlo is very long, has a big foot, walks like a cat and has a lot of depth and width to him. His flush sisters in production have beautiful udders, extremely easy fleshing, and like Charlo, are very wide-based and deep-sided.

Lot 34 goes from a modest BW of 67 lbs. to almost 700 lbs. of weaning weight. Charlo has been a favorite sire for the last four years with 42 sons averaging almost $4,500. Lot 34’s dam is a small, black cow with lots of milk, maybe too much, but she has a good udder. There is such a thing as too much milk, especially in the desert. Lot 34 is from early gestation genetics.

7/8 Angus bull with a 700 lb. weaning weight. Bull carries 1/8 BM. Lot 35 is very attractive in his design. Dam is a very nice cow, backed by J6 877 who is really making a name for herself. Last year her bull calf brought $5,250, selling to our good friends, the Banks Family of Chesterfield, Idaho.

Charlo sired bull, with tons of rib in an attractive package. Dam of lot 36 has tremendous length, with excellent mothering ability.

Really like this big, gentle, Panda bear. Nothing better than baldy face cattle. This bull will cover all the bases, as far as being a big time curvebender. His dam, is a sweet cow by Charlo, with a super build and udder. Gotta love these good SimAngus cattle. Weaning Value on this calve will be in top 10% of breed.

J6 Special Focus 0114

Early gestation genetics in a very smooth made package. We have been tickled with Special Focus he has done a very good job with this calf crop. They have all been very consistent, for type and kind. Maternal grandam still in production at 9 years with a 107 weaning ratio on 7 head of calves.

J6 Special Focus 043

Very similar to his brother, in lot 38 with a shorter tail. I’ve never noticed much of a difference in breeding ability in short tailed vs. long tailed bulls, but I’m sure the succes percentage is similar. Bull can be used on heifers.

J6 Ribeye 946

Lots 40-42 are peas in a pod, backed by young, good footed, good uddered productive cows. J6 Ribeye will leave his mark in the females he has produced, and his good easy doing sons. Never had a ill tempered one sired by him. All three of these Ribeye sons will do a good job for their new owners. All three of them can be used on heifers with a little caution. Get some Hereford genetics in a black package.

1,000 lb. dam and grandam is a Redemption. Lots of cow power behind this bull.

J6 27c 962

Lot 43 will be a cow maker, with a very attractive phenotype. His dam is nearly perfect in her design and this bull’s great grandam is the often talked about J6 920 that produced 19 calves in 21 years. Bull can be used on heifers.

27c 9020

Lot 42 has that striped face that so many of us like. His dam is a cute, halfblood, Fleckvieh cow that is ideal in her structure, with good mothering ability. Bull will sire tremendous replacement heifers and steer calves that your Superior rep will love to film.

Long and attractive much like a D.C. politicians time in Congress. Unbelievable how long these jackasses can stay in office. Have you ever noticed that it doesn’t really matter, Democrat or Republican, they all end up taking us to the same place? The only difference in the parties is in the speed in which they take us. Bull has a 670 lb. weaning weight.

J6 Special Focus 0177

Nice calving ease bull for heifers out of a outstanding BWF cow. Maternal value index in the top 5% of the breed with carcass EPDs in the top 10%.

Terminally oriented genetics, what I’m suggesting is this dude is made to produce pounds of calves, that all should go on to the plate. You’ll love this guys calves come weaning time. Not for heifer use.

J6 Effective 046

Curve bender spread on this very attractive bull. J6 046 is perfect sized cow, and his maternal grandam has produced several high sellers one for $4,900 going to Cody Miller of Idaho. Early gestation genetics. CE in top 3% of the breed.

J6 Special Focus 049

Very gentle with the In Focus phenotype and kind. Dam is a very good cow out hustling for a living on the Winnemucca desert where the cows haven’t been fed any hay all winter.

Very good post-weaning performance on this bull. Maternal grandam produced up to her 16th year. We encourage you to find other pedigrees that will consistently, advertise teenage cows. Maternal brother sold in last year’s sale for $6,000 to our good friend Zan Sharp.

J6 Focus 0128

Calving ease in a purebred Angus package. This bull’s sire, Schiefelbein Effective, has sired thousands of offspring working all over the country. Effective has all the positive EPDs we need out here in the arid West, being +10 for energy and - for mature height and mature cow weight. Bid with confidence on these more moderate for performance genetics. Remember, the best genetics you can get is MOISTURE, which comes from God, so repent and pray for His blessings.

A three-way cross that won’t put you in jail. Lot 52 stems from one of my favorite SimAngus x Beefmaster cows, that’s sweet for disposition and type. Maternal grandam, J6 7121, is damn near perfect and doesn’t weigh much over 1,000 lbs. Bull has just a tint of roan, that shouldn’t pass on to progeny. A really good bull here, that can be used on heifers.

Calving ease, combined with unmatched fleshing ability on grass. Superior carcass quality. Dam produced into her teens. Daughter by Roberts will be unsurpassed for longevity and fertility.

Super excited to offer lots 54 & 55 they offer some new, outcross genetics that can really help improve a herd of cows on the maternal side of the equation. Their sire, Roberts, is a full blood South Poll, a breed that was created by Alabama country singer Teddy Gentry. The South Poll was created by taking the best of Hereford, Red Angus, Senepol, and Barzona to create this true hybrid breed of cattle that excel in all forage situations. This bull looks like a really cool Red Angus and will increase fertility, with ability to forage and thrive on the most rugged ranges. Lots 54 & 55 can be used with confidence on heifers. Will not throw many reds as their dams are both purebred black angus cows. To find out more on the South Poll bred search: Teddy Gentry South Poll Cattle or Bent Tree Farm.

Lots of red meat on this higher growth Charlo son. This a bull Grand pa Doug would be proud of, a meat and ‘tators type of bull, and like Grandpa Doug, this bull should only be used on mature cows. Just a side note: my Grandpa Doug’s BW was a little north of 12 lbs. Thank fully, for my Grandma Roche, he was the 7th or 8th kid of 13.

J6 Charlo 068

Another higher growth Charlo son with over 700 lbs. of weaning weight. Dam has a nursing ratio of over 110% on this guy, weaning approximately 70% of her body weight.

J6 Focus 0154

Larger framed with performance. Lot 58’s grandam, J6 607, is a cow that is popping up in a lot of these bulls pedigrees. Power in the blood here.

J6 Effective 096

Extreme CE and early gestation genetics, in this 1/4 BM bull. If you still need a heifer bull at this point in the sale jump on board with this guy. Lots 59-61 are all 1/4 BM and can be used on heifers. These 1/4 BM genetics are perfect for incorporating just a smidge of the Beefmaster breed without anybody knowing, kind of like being a Democrat.

Very similar to previous two lots. This bull’s mother has a little slope to her hip, which enables ease of calving. If you ever take time to notice God’s creations for example; deer, elk, antelope. You will notice they all have a slope to their hip. Why is that? Maybe its because nature, or God in his wisdom, Adam and Eve couldn’t travel around and babysit the animals in the birthing process with a come-a-long and chains. Point here is a little slope to the hip is how God intended animals to be constructed, but what does he know?
