Narrative: This’s my favourite building in San Francisco. It’s a nice house located at the corner of University Ave and Bacon St. It’s also my first homework.

Multiview drawing of favourite building.

Front of the house 6

Left of the house

Weaknesses: What I think most difficult is make the same scale of each view.

Strengths: Drawing the multiview helped me understand how highly regular geometry can increase structural strength.

⅛”=1’ scale 7

Plans and section that I imagined of my favourite building.

⅛”=1’ scale

Opportunities: I think I would draw much better and easier in the future. And give more exactly scale and more details as possible as I could. 8

Group tiny house plan Narrative: Our tiny house is a 15 ft length by 10 ft wide and 13 ft height wood house. It includes 1 and half floors.

⅛”=1’ scale

Plans of our group sketch

This is the sketch we discussed before. 9

Weakness: When we build the huge living room, we found that would make our bedroom small. Plans we taped

Full scale

Section we taped

Strengths: We have a small glass porch outside the house for someone changing the shoes. There’s a 13 ft height ceiling when the guests enter the house. 10

Array Tools ------ 3D Cube exercise Strengths: It’s so convenient to build and change a mount of same objects in the same time.

PERSPECTIVE

Weakness: It’s difficult to make some difference between some of them. And if I make group for them, when I want to select any part of them, it would automatically select all the group for me. AXON 11

TOP VIEW OF SOME PATTERNS Strengths: It’s easy to make different kinds of shapes, and it’s useful when you are making a floor.

Weakness: When I was creating the patterns, it’s easy to make a mistake that make it double. We need to pay attention of double sides. PERSPECTIVE FROM ONE POINT 16

Tiny house sketchup project

18

Narrative: Here’s my earliest sketch and plans that based on our group’s opinion.

Strengths: There’s total over 240 ft^2 in my tiny house. It has six windows on each wall and the roof, and two see-through glass door in the east and the south. It can solve the problems that too narrow and lightness.

3/8”=1’ scale

19

NORTH EAST ELEVATION

Weakness: there’s not so much storage space in the bedroom. Like the wardrobe, or it ‘s not enough space to put a desk.

Risk: I have tried to change the roof of the house like a normal house, but it is less useful than the original design. Finally, I keep the original design.

Opportunities: If I build it in the future, I think I will make one more door to the backyard. And there will be a garage for a car. 21

Improved tool project

24

Original tool Narrative: This is a hammer model of the household tool. I choose it as my original tool because we often use it to fix something broken.

Weaknesses: At this project, I think the most difficult thing is modeling the detail of the ham. Because it’s an old hammer, I can’t imagine what it looks like original.

25

Improved tool

Strengths: After model this improved hammer, I actually know how to use the Follow me and the soften edges. And I know when I model a small tool, in order to get the Axon, I need to make it part by part.

SECTION 1

Narrative: The Eames House is the mid-century architecture. I choose it for its special style and its structure. It’s so clearly that the first time, people look at it and then they can easily know what it is made of.

SECTION 2

Strengths: At the part 2 of this project, I think it is good to make it in the group job. Because we can help and teach each other. And I know all of the big projects can not be done by one architect, they must work as a team. Only when every teammate do their best to the project, the project could be better. SECTION 3

29

IMPROVED EAMES HOUSE

Narrative: This is my improved Eames House. Because the old house is closed to the hill, maybe it’s fine for that time, but for now, I want it could get more nature, I move the studio a little out, then the both sides of the studio can get light. In order to connect the house and studio again, I made a interior passageway. I also add a big bedroom on the roof. Because the trees in front of the house is too high, so if the master want a good view in the bedroom, they have to make it higher. 30

WEST ELEVATION

2ND FLOOR PLAN

Strengths: For moving the studio, it’s better to get more light and nature, and get more space for parking. The main bedroom at the 2nd floor can get more good view and it has a very high ceiling, it can make people feel more comfortable.

SECTION 1

SECTION 2 32

Weakness: Because the original model is made by our group, the bad communication so that when I was improving the house, I made something that not so match to the old version, like the steels and the windows of the passageway and the main bedroom.
