Unamy Control

The exclusive active ingredient Unamy Control Complex, with a base of glyoxylic acid, acts in an acidic environment providing softness and lustre by eliminating frizz. Curly hair (1), after the application of Unamy Control, is straightened with a blow dryer (2). The use of the flat iron allows the glyoxylic acid to create new bonds inside the hair in the new position (3) and to nourish and fill in the damaged areas by smoothing the hair structure with results that last up to 10/12 weeks

2. KEY INGREDIENTS

Phytokeratin

It is a mixture rich in amino acids extracted from wheat, oats and corn with a low molecular weight. Thanks to their low molecular weight they penetrate inside the hair and maintain the right degree of hydration and nourishment; as a result, the hair fibre appears healthy, elastic and perfectly hydrated

Xylitol

This is a sugar with a humectant and hydrating effect to protect the scalp and hair from dehydration.

Panthenol

Also known as provitamin B5, it is fundamental for hair, since it is directly responsible for its health. It has hydrating, emollient and soothing properties, and it provides the right degree of moisture to the hair, preventing dehydration and fragility. It also increases the resistance of the hair shaft preventing structural damage.

3. DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Stage 1 - Diagnosis

Before proceeding with the Unamy Wave service, check to see if the hair is natural, coloured or sensitised and determine its degree of porosity and degree of sensitisation. Consult with the client on any previous technical treatments performed.

Stage 2 - Cleansing with Unamy Start Shampoo

Wet the hair and distribute the product to the entire head of hair, massage gently and rinse thoroughly. The goal is to eliminate any excess sebum or the residue of previously applied styling products in order to prepare the hair to receive the technical treatment.

3 - Preparing with Unamy Wave Equalizer

Apply the equalising fluid and comb to distribute the product evenly on hair. Unamy Wave Equalizer acts selectively in the most sensitive areas; it protects the hair structure allowing the full head of hair to absorb the waving lotion evenly. Leave in place for 3 minutes and rinse. In cases of sensitised hair, it is recommended to repeat the application with a small amount of product directly in the most porous areas without rinsing.

Stage 4 - Winding the rollers

Begin winding the rollers using the desired tools and technique. The goal is to give the desired direction and movement to the hair. During winding do not pull the sections too much and use the papers to keep the ends tidy within the roller. During this phase, it is important to keep the hair damp by spraying it with water.

Stage 5 - Saturating with Unamy Wave Lotion

Once winding is complete, apply a strip of cotton along the hairline. Make the client wear a disposable cape and place a basin to gather liquid at the base of the back of the head. Apply Unamy Wave Lotion directly on the rollers starting from the back of the head. Once finished, replace the strip of cotton and apply a cap.

Stage 6 - Processing time

Coloured hair up to 20 volumes

Sensitised, coloured hair up to 30 volumes or with streaking up to 50%

Once 5 minutes have passed, check the progress of Unamy Wave by gently unrolling a roller. Being careful not to pull the sections, check the movement that has been achieved and change the processing time if necessary.

7 - Rinsing

Once the processing time has elapsed, rinse the hair for 10 minutes, going over each roller thoroughly.

8 - Applying Unamy Wave Neutralizer

Towel dry the hair well and distribute Unamy Wave Neutralizer evenly using the applicator tip and working roller by roller. Leave in place for 5 minutes. Remove the rollers carefully beginning from the nape and being careful not to pull the sections. Apply Unamy Wave Neutralizer one more time saturating the hair thoroughly. Leave in place for another 5 minutes.

Stage 9 - Rinsing

Rinse thoroughly. If necessary, apply Unamy Home Care Mask, leave in place for 5 minutes and rinse.

Stage 10: Drying

Proceed with drying.

Stage 1 - Diagnosis

Stage 2 - Cleansing with Unamy Start Shampoo

3 - Applying Unamy Liss

Divide the hair into 4 sections with a crossline running from the front hairline to the nape and from ear to ear. Using a brush begin application from the back area, creating sections of hair approximately 1 cm wide. Apply Unamy Liss starting 1 cm from the scalp, depositing it both over and under the section of hair avoiding contact with the scalp. Continue taking sections up to the centre of the head. Then move on to the side taking vertical sections and continuing up to the front hairline. Once you have finished applying the product, check that the hair is kept very straight. To do so use a wide tooth comb when the hair is no longer tangled. Apply the product quickly for a uniform result.

Stage 4 - Processing time

Once 5 minutes have passed from the start of the treatment, check the hair to establish the exact processing time. The product can be left in place for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Stage 5 - Rinsing

Rinse the hair very thoroughly for at least 10 minutes, keeping the hair very straight. Then towel dry.

Stage 6 - Applying Unamy Liss Neutralizer

Separate the hair in four sections and begin application from the nape, creating horizontal subsections. Apply the neutraliser, section by section, to the entire head of hair keeping it very straight. Leave in place for 10 minutes.

Stage 7 - Rinsing

Rinse thoroughly. If necessary, apply Unamy Home Care Mask, leave in place for 5 minutes and rinse.

Stage 8 - Drying

Dry the hair perfectly straight, if necessary use a flat iron to perfect the results. Remind the client to avoid washing or pulling his/her hair back in a ponytail, wearing clips or headbands during the 48 hours after the treatment.

Once 5 minutes have passed, check the progress of Unamy Texture by gently unrolling a roller. Being careful not to pull the sections, check the movement that has been achieved and change the processing time if necessary.

Stage 6 - Rinsing

Once the processing time has elapsed, rinse the hair for 10 minutes, going over each roller thoroughly. Remove the rollers carefully beginning from the nape and being careful not to pull the sections. Shampoo lightly with Unamy Home Care Shampoo and rinse. If necessary, apply Unamy Home Care Mask, leave in place for 5 minutes and rinse.

Stage 7 - Drying

Proceed with drying.

1. WHAT IS IT?

Semi-permanent hair taming treatment specifically designed to eliminate frizz and control, define or relax the shape of any type of hair. It is ideal for achieving lustrous, silky and manageable hair, resulting in faster and longer-lasting styling results. Unamy Control, available in 2 strengths, Intensive and Light, to use based on the hair’s degree of sensitisation.

3. DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Stage 1 - Diagnosis

Check the condition of the hair: whether natural or colour-treated, how porous it is and its degree of sensitisation.

Choose the treatment to use, Unamy Control Intensive or Unamy Control Light, depending on the type of hair.

* On colour-treated hair, the choice between Control Intensive and Control Light depends on the condition of the hair. If the hair is especially sensitised, we recommend using Control Light; if the colour-treated hair appears healthy and strong, use Control Intensive.

Stage 2 - Treating the hair with Unamy Control Pre-Treat

Distribute and massage gently. Apply 2 or 3 times depending on the condition of the hair:

Stage 3 - Processing time

Leave in place for 10 minutes only from the last application of Unamy Control Pre-Treat. You may cover the hair with a cap to add to the comfort of the service.

Stage 4 - Rinsing

Rinse thoroughly until all traces of lather are removed. After rinsing, the hair should feel very dry to the touch. Check to see if you rinsed properly by emulsifying the hair; if lather appears, rinse again. Towel dry the hair.

Stage 5 - Preparing the hair

Comb the hair. If you have difficulty detangling the hair, wear gloves and apply a small amount of the chosen treatment (Unamy Control Intensive or Light). This will ease tangles instantly and make hair easy to comb.

Stage 6

- Applying Unamy Control Intensive or Light treatment

Wear protective disposable gloves then dispense the chosen Unamy Control treatment into the bowl. The amount of product varies based on the length and amount of hair. Separate the hair into sections approximately 1.5 cm wide. Start from the nape and apply the product section by section with the brush, avoiding the scalp. Comb each section repeatedly, making sure it is completely saturated.

Stage 7 - Processing time

Leave in place for 25 minutes with a cap.

Stage 8 - Rinsing

Rinse thoroughly until all traces of product are removed. Apply Unamy Control Mask, leave in place for 3 minutes, rinse and towel dry.

Stage 9 - Drying

Blow-dry the hair completely with a paddle brush. Do not use any styling product.

Stage 10: Passing the flat iron

With Unamy Control you can achieve two results:

- slightly relaxed curls, Smooth service;

- completely relaxed hair, Straight service.

The two services differ in the number of flat iron passes, as shown in the table below.

Start from the nape and run the flat iron over each section of hair for the number of times shown in the table. The sections of hair should be very narrow (no more than 0.5 cm wide). The temperature of the flat iron varies depending on the condition of the hair.

HOME CARE KIT

1. WHAT IS IT?

At-home maintenance programme to extend the result achieved in the salon with the professional hair waving and relaxing services.

The kit contains:

UNAMY HOME CARE SHAMPOO, 250 ml shape preserve shampoo. Cleanses hair gently, making it silky and manageable with a luminous shine.

Directions for use: distribute evenly over wet hair and scalp. Massage well, rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary.

HOME CARE MASK, 200 ml shape preserve mask. Removes tangles, eliminates frizz and gives hair a silky feel without weighing down.

Directions for use: apply to freshly-washed, towel-dried hair and massage it in section by section. Leave in place for 5 to 10 minutes. Emulsify and rinse thoroughly.

FAQs

The system

How much time must pass before you can colour hair after Unamy System services?

For an oxidation colouring it is recommended to wait 48 hours before applying a colour.

Is it possible that with the Unamy System services the colour may fade?

Yes, it is possible. It has been found out that especially in case of sensitised hair the colour may fade approximately one level.

What can I use to restore the colour that was eventually lost after the Unamy service?

Yo Cond can be applied when it is necessary to restore the tone whereas Yo Green can be used if it is necessary to restore the level and tone. In both cases, the application can be done at the end of the Unamy service, to restore the colour and give shine to the hair.

Wave and Texture

Can Unamy Wave or Unamy Texture be used on all types of hair?

Yes, except for totally bleached hair or hair with more than 50% streaking.

What type of rollers can be used with Unamy Wave and Unamy Texture?

Any type of roller designed specifically for waving can be used.

The day of the service with Unamy Wave or Unamy Texture, can styling products be used?

Yes, every type of styling product can be used to complete and define the created shape.

After Unamy Wave or Unamy Texture service, can the hair be dried with a blow dryer? Can rollers be used or hair dried under a hood dryer?

Yes, hair can be dried in any way on the same day as the waving service, although it is preferable to dry hair naturally with a diffuser since it contributes to making hair more elastic and curls more uniform.

To create waving with Unamy Wave or Unamy Texture when the hair is long, can the hair be saturated before winding the rollers?

That is not recommended. In long hair we recommend using a winding technique that makes it possible to saturate the hair along the mid-shaft, like the double or spiral winding techniques for example.

What can determine how long the movement lasts in hair treated with Unamy Texture?

The initial sensitivity of the hair is important for determining the duration of the service. If the hair is natural, it will last approximately 4/6 weeks. If the hair is sensitised, it will last longer.

Liss and Control

Can Unamy Liss be used on all types of hair?

No, it cannot be used on colour-treated or sensitised hair. On these types of hair we recommend the Unamy Control service. Unamy Liss is used only on natural hair.

If the client has had the Unamy Liss service a couple of months before and wants to make or recreate the movement in her hair, which waving product is recommended?

It is recommended in this case, and for the first application, to use Unamy Texture. Unamy Texture is a product that does not break the bonds but adds them.

Is it necessary to use a fine-tooth comb for the application of Unamy Control Light or Intensive?

Yes. It helps to better distribute the product.

What happens in the Unamy Control service if the flat iron is run a fewer number of times than that indicated in the table?

The degree of relaxation and its duration will be reduced.

Is it possible to provide a colouring service and a Unamy Control service on the same day?

Yes. First colour the hair, then provide the Unamy Control service.

Is it possible that with the Unamy Control treatment the colour may fade?

Yes, it can in very rare cases. It usually happens with weak hair colours, such as those resulting from a darkening without repigmentation or those on permed hair. Usually, the treatment will not lift the colour by more than a level and will give a very lustrous result.

Can I use Unamy Control on permed hair?

Yes. The product works in an acidic environment so it is possible to apply it on hair that has already been treated.
