Ever since wellness became incorporated into our way of understanding beauty, we have begun to place increasing importance on comfort, well-being, balance and health: being beautiful is no longer a question of appearance, but a question of feeling. All of this has led to genuine sensory revolution in the beauty industry: beauty is an enjoyable, satisfying and holistic experience, and can no longer be separated from the concept of wellness. Products have changed, procedures have been transformed into rituals, certain beauty norms have disappeared completely and there has been an explosion of spas; but nonetheless even today a number of beauty treatments considered disagreeable remain part of the market. KEY INGREDIENTS Velian Complex In 2006, in the hills of Umbria – not far from our plant – we converted 20 hectares of land to organic farming. This is how we started a long and intense period of experimentation with the plants in our “open-air laboratory”, a research activity that still goes on today and has led us to achieve unprecedented results for cosmetics. After a long period of studies, we selected four plants for their emollient and soothing properties. These plants, native to the area, hardy and resistant, do not need a lot of water and are grown in accordance with organic farming techniques in our Kemon Open Lab. Velian Complex is the result of a combination of: • Mullein (Verbascum densiflorum): with soothing powers. • Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum): with calming and refreshing powers. • Flax (Linum usitatissimum): with protective and emollient powers. • Dyer’s Chamomile (Anthemis tinctoria): with antioxidant powers. The result is a patented blend of plant extracts, the fruit of extensive scientific research conducted by Kemon in collaboration with Vivacell Biotechnology (Denzlingen, Germany) and the University of Ferrara.

The patent Scientific studies have demonstrated that “specific blends of extracts of mullein, helichrysum, flax and dyer’s chamomile, produced using plants grown in accordance with organic farming techniques in our Kemon Open Lab, possess noteworthy anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant characteristics”, and that the patented Velian Complex blend produces an important synergistic effect, with results greater than those expected from the sum of the individual extracts.

Yoghurt extract
Yoghurt is produced by the breakdown of milk attacked by bacteria from the Lactobacillus strain. Conditions favouring its creation include a temperature of about 40°C and stirring or mixing. Its discovery was probably by chance: 4,000 years ago, nomadic peoples in the Middle East observed that milk stored in saddlebags made of animal hide (therefore contaminated with lactobacilli) and transported on the backs of camels (supplying constant motion) under the blazing sun of those regions (daytime temperatures of around and above 40°C) was broken down, while remaining nonetheless edible. The earliest writings on the subject date back to Pliny the Elder (100 AD), who referred specifically to the custom of these peoples of “thickening the milk into a substance with an agreeable acidity”. It was given its name, however, by the Turkish, derived from the word yogurmak (“to knead”). It was also the Turkish who, in 1000 AD, formalised the medical and aesthetic uses of the foodstuff, listing its benefits for both the digestive tract and the skin: as a cleanser, beauty lotion or for sunburn.

Benefits Today, yoghurt is a foodstuff listed by the FAO and considered by many to be a super food thanks to its countless beneficial properties and nutritional advantages: it promotes the absorption of many vitamins and calcium, feeds gut flora to counter digestive system disorders, and strengthens immune defences (for this reason it is also described as a “natural antibiotic”). The use of yoghurt in cosmetics is less well known, despite having a long history; the various components of this powerful foodstuff exert different effects on the scalp and hair. • Lipids: provide an emollient, soothing and shine-enhancing action on dry hair and scalp. • Probiotics: feed the healthy bacterial flora of the scalp, promoting its natural balance. • Proteins: nourishing and protective, they exert a restoring and strengthening effect on hair that undergoes the treatment.

A colour treatment inspired by wellness is inextricable from hair health. Hand massage ritual Apply a walnut-sized amount of Yo Hand Cream on the back of one hand and distribute throughout the entire surface with a light massage.
1. pressures on the back of the hand Position both thumbs on the back of the hand and create sliding pressures starting from the knuckles to the wrist.
2. circular rubs Keep the client's hand open and rub the fingers with circular motions, using medium pressure. Work one finger at a time, starting with the pinkie and ending with the thumb.
3. sliding down the fingers Slide down every finger, using medium pressure, starting from the knuckles and working towards the tips.

4. finger pressures on the palm of the hand Rotate the hand and start to work on the inner part. Massage the entire area with deep, circular motions using the thumbs. Use the fingertips to press energetically, especially in the thicker areas like the base of the thumb.
5. finger pressures on the forearm Encircle the wrist with both hands, keeping the thumbs spread and alongside each other, positioned on the inner part. Do three finger pressures with both thumbs on three points: end of the wrist, mid forearm and forearm.
6. pinching the fingers Rotate the hand again and, squeezing one finger at a time between the index and middle fingers, slide a few times towards the outside. Pull each finger gently, from the base to the tip. This stroke helps release negative energy.
7. wrist rotations Cross your hand with the client’s, hold his/her wrist with the other hand and guide some wrist rotations, first clockwise, then counter-clockwise (3 to 6 times).

THE ACTIVATOR
What is it?
NaYo Cream Activator is the activating cream that works synergistically with NaYo. An essential complement for a perfect colour result.
NaYo Cream Activator in a 25 ml packet has been developed to offer a highly customised service carried out right before the client’s eyes, allowing the product to be mixed quickly and easily without using a scale or measuring scoop.
NaYo Cream Activator in the 1000 ml bottle, with the help of NaYo Fastation, allows the product to be measured out immediately. The rotating caddy has been designed for back bar use; it holds 4 bottles upside down to make it simple and quick to dispense the product and comes with an electronic scale on the base. Top-down bottle to make it easier to dispense the cream activator. Level indicator line to show the amount of product available. Flip-top cap with drip protector for perfect dispensing and no accidental product leakage. Ergonomic side grip for easier hold.

Rules for grey/white coverage
Direct coverage The shades of the following series cover grey/white hair 100% with no need for mixing: Naturals, Golds (.3), Mahogany Naturals (.06) and Copper Naturals (.04). Mixed coverage With the other tonal series, 50% grey/white coverage can be achieved. To obtain maximum coverage mix: 2/3 of the desired shade with 1/3 of the most appropriate shade from the Natural, Gold (.3), Mahogany Natural (.06) or Copper Natural (.04) series.

Tone-on-tone hair colour in gel cream with an essentially neutral pH, in a 60 ml tube. DIRECTIONS FOR USE
The average amount of product to be used is 30 ml. After shampooing the hair, wear protective gloves and distribute the product evenly using a comb. Use Yo Cond every 3 to 5 shampoos. Processing time: 3 minutes. The processing time for natural hair varies from 3 to 10 minutes, depending on the hair’s porosity and the desired tone intensity. Once the processing time is up, emulsify and rinse thoroughly.
Yo Cond Clear
Special series
Neutral conditioner (same base as Yo Cond but without pigment) that in just 3 minutes leaves hair brilliant, nourished and protected. Apply after every shampoo like a normal conditioner. Processing time: 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
