General Club Rules

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS REQUIRES OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR GUESTS TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING POLICIES OF THE CLUB. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Dress Code: The following clothing is Not Permitted:

Cargo shorts or cargo pants

Halter tops, tank tops, bare midriffs

Golf shoes or cleats of any type, pool flip-flops, and, for men only, no open-toed shoes in the clubhouse

Men may wear hats on the Veranda until 6 p m ; otherwise they must be removed while in the Clubhouse

Untucked shirts, unless specifically styled to be worn as such

Short-shorts or skirts (higher than mid-thigh)

Spandex, cut-off shorts or skirts

Tee shirts or collarless shirts (mock turtlenecks are acceptable)

Warm-up outfits, Sports jerseys

Denim Policy: Tasteful denim is permitted in the clubhouse for dining; not for special events unless specifically noted as appropriate. Permissible denim must not show appreciable wear.

Smoking Policy: After much thought and discussion, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to eliminate smoking in the Clubhouse and at the Pool’s Tiki Bar The Cigar Room, an area outside the 19th Hole, as well as an area outside the pool deck will be designated smoking areas

Cell Phone Policy: Please refrain from using your cell phone while dining at the club. Permissible areas inside the clubhouse are the 19th Hole, Ladies Card Room, Golf Shop, and Locker Rooms.

Grievances & Complaints: Any issues or complaints regarding a fellow member or Club employee shall be addressed with the General Manager At no time should a member attempt to discuss such issues with the other party Additional information on the Club’s Grievance Policy is included in the Rules and Regulations

Dining & Events

Dining Information: The Golfer’s Lounge/Wine Bar, located on the second floor of the Clubhouse, provides members an indoor and outdoor casual environment with fullservice menu 6 days per week (in season). Reservations are encouraged for dining. It is also the perfect gathering place for grabbing a quick cocktail with your friends, meeting before or after dinner it is “the meeting place” at the Club Reservations are required at The Grille, and members are asked to please call at least twenty-four (24) hours prior To ensure the highest level of service, parties with more than twelve (12) people will have a select a la carte menu and should contact the manager in advance to make the proper arrangements

Seating: In order to accommodate all members equally, specific seating requests for dining rooms or tables will be noted but cannot be guaranteed.

Reservations for dining will be held for fifteen (15) minutes after the reserved time

Children twelve (12) years of age and under will be seated with adults when dining at the Club

Corkage Fee: Members may bring their own wine to the Grille. A $25 Corkage Fee will be applied.

Events at The Club: The Club hosts numerous social events throughout the year for members and their guests to enjoy A summarized listing for the year follows in this book and event flyers are e-mailed and posted throughout the Clubhouse, as well as being posted on the website

Cancellation and change notices must be given forty-eight (48) hours prior to the event to avoid being charged

Private Events: One of the many privileges of being a member of the Country Club of St. Albans is that members may utilize the Clubhouse for their private parties. Members simply need to contact the Director of Special Events to make arrangements for a private function The Club is the perfect venue for business meetings, weddings, corporate retreats, not to mention client entertaining on the courses, culminating with an elegant dinner prepared especially for your group and served in the elegance and privacy of our banquet rooms

Guest Policy

Members are encouraged to bring guests to the Club It is imperative you provide your guest(s) name(s) and correct e-mail(s) when making a tee time (or at least 24 hours in advance)

Guests are not permitted prior to 11:00 a m on weekends or holidays April – October

Guests may play golf only 6 times in any calendar year. Family guests may play any time

Dependents under the age of 16 are not permitted to bring guests unless accompanied by the member or member spouse/ dependent partner.

It is the member’s responsibility to make sure their guests are aware of the Club policies and procedures and the required dress code

Dependents over age 24 are considered family guests for the purpose of tee times

The same family guest is permitted to golf 10 times in a calendar year It is the member’s responsibility to make sure their guests are aware of the Club policies and procedures and the required dress code

To play Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - or - After 12:00 PM Saturday or Sunday Book up to seven (7) days in advance using one of the following methods:

To play Before 12:00 PM Saturday or Sunday, the Club uses a Weekend Lottery System. This is the ONLY method available for tee times on Saturday and Sunday mornings before noon

Signing up as a foursome is strongly suggested Partial foursomes may have additional players added. The first member's name on the request is responsible for the group.

If there are any No Shows that a member’s account may be charged for the tee time(s) unless the Golf Shop was given at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notice

Ladies 18-Hole & 9-Hole Golf Associations: Tuesday mornings are reserved for members of the Ladies Eighteen-Hole Golf Association and Thursday mornings for the Nine-Hole Ladies Golf Association The Associations have exclusive rights to one of the courses the first 2-3 hours of the morning.

Junior Play Day: From June-July, members of the program begin play each Wednesday morning between 7:30-11 am

Junior golfers under the age of 18 years may, at the discretion of the Golf Shop Staff, utilize the practice area and play the golf courses without supervision Parental supervision is required always for those juniors the Golf Shop Staff feel are not ready to meet the Club’s etiquette expectations on the practice facility or golf courses

Golf Carts

Required: After Noon on Fridays -and- Before 2:00 PM Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays

Carts are assigned in advance by the Golf Staff, and limited to two (2) people each

Extreme caution should be used at all times. Members are responsible for any damage caused by the negligent operation of a cart either by them or their guest(s). For additional information, refer to the Club’s Rules & Regulations

The Golf Staff may restrict carts to certain areas such as the rough only Anyone operating a golf cart is expected to ascertain what/ if any restrictions are in place and proceed appropriately Taking a golf cart off the property at any time is strictly prohibited

At any time walking is allowed, it must not impede the required pace of play,

When Operating a Golf Cart:

STAY ON THE PATHS, WHERE AVAILABLE, AND AVOID DRIVING ACROSS STEEP HILLS OBSERVE SIGNS, STAKES, AND ANY ROPED OFF AREAS KEEP HANDS AND FEET INSIDE THE CART AND USE THE PARKING BRAKE WHEN STOPPED PARK ON THE SIDE OR THE BACK OF THE PUTTING GREEN, AT LEAST 30 FT AWAY

Restrictions: Operators of a golf cart must have a valid driver’s license Anyone operating a cart that is under eighteen (18) years of age must submit a signed parental release form

Processes & Rules

Check-In Process

Players are asked to register in the Golf Shop or with the Starter, and unless otherwise noted, must not tee off prior to the opening of the shop or the arrival of the Starter The Hours of Operation for the golf course, golf shop, bag room and driving range are set by the Director of Golf and are subject to change throughout the season. The most up to date information will be posted at the Golf Shop and on the website.

Starting Times

All players should report to the Starter a minimum of ten (10) minutes before their scheduled tee time. Play will only begin on the first (1st) and/or tenth (10th) Tee, unless otherwise noted by the Starter and/or the Director of Golf

All Golfers must play with their own set of Golf Clubs*

Driving Range

The Driving Range will open fifteen (15) minutes before the first scheduled tee time and close thirty (30) minutes before dark. The Director of Golf reserves the right to change this schedule.

Bag

Storage

Full Golf Members may store up to two (2) sets of clubs on property The bag storage facility is available from March 12 – December 12, 2021, and also offers members Shoe Cleaning and Repair Services. It opens at least fifteen (15) minutes before the first scheduled tee time and closes at dusk (weather permitting).

Lockers

Lockers are available for seasonal rentals at no charge to Golf Members Units are located in the Men’s and Women’s locker rooms above The Grille and are on a first come first serve basis For more information, contact the Director of Golf at email@website com

Dress Code

Proper attire is required on the golf course, driving range, and practice areas The Club’s dress code, as outlined below, is mandatory for all players and is intended to maintain the standards desired by the membership.

For Men: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required The shirts are to be tucked in Walking shorts are also acceptable Hats must be worn with the visor pointing forward Cargo shorts are not allowed

For Women: Dresses, skirts, slacks, golf shorts, mid-length shorts Sleeveless shirts should have collars, and any non-collared shirts should have sleeves

All members and guests must wear soft spikes. Tank tops, T-shirts, mesh tops, halter tops, bathing suits, sweatpants, tennis attire, athletic shorts, cut-offs, blue jeans, or denim of any kind are NOT permitted

Golf Shop Apparel & Equipment

The Golf Shop offers the latest apparel, equipment, and accessories at competitive prices

A wide selection of products is in stock, and others are available to order Members receive a 25% discount on all in-stock sportswear. Additional discounts and promotions may be offered throughout the season.

Behavior

All members shall conduct themselves in such a manner as not to interfere with the playing enjoyment of others The Golf Staff is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the golf rules and course regulations, as adopted by Cloverbank Country Club. Players must be respectful of members, guests, and employees at all times. Any complaints regarding a member, guest, or Club employee, should be addressed with the Director of Golf and/or the General Manager only

Course Rules & Etiquette

Except where modified by local rules, USGA regulations will govern all play A copy of the USGA Rules Book is available for purchase in the Golf Shop

Cell Phones should be silenced while on the golf course, and players are asked to step away when making or receiving calls Additional information regarding the cell phone policy can be found in the Club’s Rules and Regulations Cell phone use is not allowed if it impedes the pace of play.

Handicaps

The Director of Golf is responsible for maintaining Handicaps in accordance with the current USGA handicap system Players shall contact Golf Staff to establish a handicap

Only members who maintain an approved USGA handicap may participate in tournaments These members must post all completed scores to maintain an up to date handicap in a timely fashion.

General Rules

Practicing: Practice is to be confined to the designated areas The removal of practice balls from any of these areas is prohibited, and may result in a $150 fine and a temporary suspension of privileges. The golf course tees, greens, fairways, or bunkers should not be used as practice areas. Play on any hole after the course is closed is not permitted.

Pairings: No group shall consist of more than four players When a single, twosome or threesome exists, the Starter has the discretion to pair them with other players

Bunkers: Please leave rakes outside the bunker parallel to the line of play

Closings/ Signage: The course, or any part of it, may be closed to play at any time upon the authority of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Director of Golf, and/or the General Manager. The staff will post signs and/or provide instructions as required, to help prevent damage to the course Players are asked to comply with all instructions

Weather Evacuation: The Club is equipped with the STRIKE GUARD Lightning detection system. When there is a lightning strike within five (5) miles the alarm will sound, and the Golf course, including all practice facilities are immediately closed

Members and guests should seek shelter in one of the designated areas on property An “all-clear” alarm will sound if and when it is safe to reopen the course and resume play.

Evacuation areas include: the Golf Shop, The Grille, the Pool Facility (located by the Harbor), the Maintenance Barn (next to the guard booth), the Restroom on the 6th Tee, and the Rain Shelter (located behind the 8th green)

Non-Golf Activity: The Club restricts the use of the golf course for any activity other than playing golf This includes, but is not limited to, use of the cart paths for exercise such as walking, jogging, bicycling, skating, or rollerblading, even when the course is closed

Animals are prohibited on Club grounds, with the exception of registered service animals and dogs that have been designated to help disperse the geese Any costs to repair damages resulting from such activities, either by the member, or by a guest of the member will be the sole responsibility of the member

General Rules

Children of members or guests are only permitted to be on the driving range or any of the practice areas only if playing and practicing supervised, participating in the junior golf program or taking a private lesson, under the direct supervision of a golf professional.

Coolers: Beverage coolers are not permitted on the golf course A small container is provided for beverages on the back of each Golf Cart and may be utilized

Spectators and non-players are not allowed on the golf course, with the exception of the Club Championship finals

Events: Member tournaments will receive priority over “regular” member tee times However, whenever possible, the Club will hold specific times for members not participating in the event. Matches, including PGA Jr. League matches shall receive priority over “regular” member tee times as well

No-Show & Cancellation Fees: Members are required to call the Golf Shop and provide at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notice when cancelling a tee time or private lesson. If advance notification is not given, a “No Show” fee will be charged to the member’s account for either the full cart fee or the cost of the lesson

If a member books an advance tee time for another member, who then fails to show up, the booking member will be charged for the full amount. The Club reserves the right to refuse advance tee times to members who have previously been a “No Show”

Five-somes: Member five-somes are allowed on weekdays April – October after 12:00 (no guests). This policy is relaxed during the off season. The Golf Professionals may join any group as a fifth player

Reservations

Courts may be reserved forty-eight (48) hours in advance at www cloverbankcc com and are assigned on a first come first served basis beginning at 7:00am

The Tennis staff has the discretion to assign courts based on availability. All players must be present and listed on the reservation sheet before a court will be assigned

Doubles play for 2 hours and Singles play for 1 hour

Team practices and team matches will take priority over social play during the week Weekend singles pools are in effect from 8:00am-9:00am Doubles pools are in effect from 9:00am-11:00am Weekend tennis "pools" will take priority over social games

Weekend Doubles are in effect from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM and Doubles Play takes priority. Weekend Tennis “pools” will take priority over social games

Juniors will be permitted to play on weekends after 12:00 PM Under twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Tournament play will take priority over all other play However, the Club will reserve at least one court for non-participants

Members are required to check in with any guests prior to play, and may bring up to three (3) guests at one time. Guests must be accompanied by the member at all times.

Guests are not permitted to play on weekends and holidays during Prime Time, which is 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM during the season (May-Sept)

Guest fees are $15 per person, per day Overnight guests at the Mansion may play for $20 per person (based on availability). Non-member guests do not have access to any other facilities If courts are available, guests may play after a lesson for $20 per person, per hour, or $10 per person, per hour for Leisure Members

General Rules

Dress Code: Tennis sneakers or cross trainers with smooth soles must be worn on all courts Running sneakers are not permitted on the Har-Tru courts Appropriate attire includes a collared shirt or tennis tee-shirt with tennis shorts or a skirt. No blue jeans or cutoffs No tank tops for men

Behavior: Players shall conduct themselves in such a manner so as not to interfere with the enjoyment of others.

Cell Phones: Phones should be silenced while on the court Players are asked to step away when making and/or receiving a call

Weather Conditions: When lightning is detected, an alarm will sound & courts will close, effective immediately An “all-clear” siren will sound if/when it is safe to resume play

Closings: When a court has been designated as closed, it shall not be used until opened by the tennis staff.

Special events: Advance approval is required for all special events Written requests must be submitted to the Director of Racquet Sports and the General Manager

Cancellations: Members are required to notify the Club at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance to cancel a Lesson, and a minimum of three (3) days’ notice to cancel a tennis social event Failure to do so, may result in a “no show” charge for the full amount of the lesson and/or tournament fee

Pool Operations

Changing Rooms: The restrooms will be open, and face coverings are required

Lounge Chairs: Seating is limited and will be pre-arranged into small groups to accommodate social distancing requirements A family of four (4) will be allowed two (2) chairs, and a family greater than four (4) will be given a maximum of three (3) chairs

Entering and Exiting: All members should use the main entrance when they arrive and exit through the south gate. Signs will be placed at both locations. Face coverings are required when entering, exiting, and waiting in line

Life Guards

Members shall not use the pool or be inside the pool area unless a lifeguard is on duty The decisions of the lifeguards, who are under the jurisdiction of the Director, are final in all matters pertaining to the safety of the bathers

General Rules

Attire: All persons swimming in the pool must be in a swimsuit

Behavior: Running, disrobing, or horseplay of any kind is not permitted in the pool area Diving is permitted only in the area of the pool that is marked 9 feet deep.

Pool Toys: Permitting accessories such as toys, small floats, and noodles in the pool is at the discretion of the Director and/or Lifeguard in charge No balls, except for basketballs are allowed. The use of water guns or other water shooting devices are prohibited. Other games may be permitted in the designated areas outside the gates.

Personal Items: Members are responsible for personal items The Club is not liable for any broken or lost articles

Glass Containers: There are no glass containers of any kind permitted on the pool deck

All Accidents, even if minor, must be reported to the Director and Lifeguard in charge *

Children

Children who are not fully potty trained must wear a swim diaper in the pool In the event of a fecal contamination, the member may be assessed a five-hundred-dollar ($500) cleaning fee. Strollers on the pool deck may not block entrances, exits or aisles.

Children five (5) years of age and younger are not permitted in the pool unless closely supervised by a parent or responsible adult The Director and/or Lifeguard in charge may use their discretion to require a swim test to determine if a child is qualified to swim in the deep end of the pool and/or use the diving board.

Children seven (7) years of age & older must use the restroom of the gender they identify with

The Pool staff is not permitted to babysit children at any time or under any circumstances while at the pool

Billing Information

Statements & Payment

You will receive your statement electronically the first week of every month. That statement will be due in full no later than the last day of that month. A Member shall be in default when he/she fails to pay dues or any other obligation due the Club within 15 days after same are due and payable

Dues are billed a month in advance…i.e.; the statement you receive June 5 will reflect charges incurred for the month of May and dues for the month of June

Locker storage is $100 per year, and bag storage is $100 per year Junior bag storage for ages 13 years and older is $50 per year.

There is a $125 yearly activity fee billed to golfing members in March which provides funds for golf tournaments, tennis and swim programs, and 9 and 18-hole ladies golf associations If a member does not participate in ANY of these, they may opt out by emailing the Director of Golf.

If members are enrolled in the GHIN system, there is a $49/year charge and there is a $5 (men) -$10 (women) charge for each member’s Hole-In-One during the year

Payments can be made online through the Member Portal, through the mobile app, or in person
