As I was preparing for this CD, I knew I wanted to make it a mix of Pop and Country. And I wanted to choose from my list of favorites over the years. They needed to be songs I loved, that pulled at my heartstrings, brought a tear to my eye, or were just plain fun to sing! After I narrowed them down, I realized that although I hadn’t done it on purpose, if put in a certain order, the songs I’d chosen would, in a way, tell the story of a relationship... a love story in song... the beginning when your heart beats wildly each time they’re near you, cherishing all the moments and things you do together, unforeseen heartaches and doubts, breaking up, and getting back together, then accepting, sadly, that this time it’s just not going to work out, saying good-bye, thinking you’ll never love again (but of course you will!) and finally letting go.... If you’re one of those fortunate people who have found love of the true and lasting kind, how wonderful! And if you’re someone still searching for that elusive love, remember, with each new day comes the renewed possibility that at any moment that special someone may just walk in the room and your own love story will begin.... ....I hope you enjoy listening.

My deepest thanks to all those who helped in the making of this album. To the musicians who strived to give me what I wanted, I thank you so very much... Todd— what would I have done without you! Dale— I don’t know how I would have gotten through some days without your words of encouragement... Cathie— for patiently helping me narrow down song selections—so many to choose from! Donna— “D,” your phone calls meant so much when I needed someone to talk to... Chappy— thank you for sharing your talent and positive spirit. I love singing with you. Tim— thanks for all your input, and help through the set-backs. Very special thanks to Tony and Linda Schuler. I’m sure those Florida oranges helped me through my sinus issues! Most importantly, thank you my dear God, for granting me the fruition of yet another dream.

I recorded this in one take at the end of a long day and not feeling well (the good old “Ohio Valley crud”). While it’s rough, it is heartfelt. I’ve always loved the lyrics to this song and, unfortunately, can relate to them so very well. The sparseness of just the vocals and a lonely piano reminds me of those “3 O’clock in the morning pacing the floors” I’ve been through in my own life. Perhaps, you’ve had some yourself. So, I decided to go ahead and tag it onto the album, as a bonus and let’s have a good cry together.
