How to Play an Electrical Guitar Fast Without a Pick - Easy Guitar Tricks You don't need a pick to play fast electric guitar licks, just borrow some tricks from flamenco and classical guitarists and use your fingers. Flamenco and classical guitarists use a technique that involves arpeggios. Arpeggios are notes played in succession with the fingers of the right hand. You form a chord with the left hand, and pluck the strings individually with your right hand one-by-one. Arpeggio's are fun, add depth and speed to your guitar playing. Start by playing an arpeggio in the key of D.

1 Form a D chord. Place your index finger on the third string at the second fret. Place your ring finger on the second string at the third fret. Put your middle finger on the first string (the smallest string) at the second fret.

• 2 Place your thumb of your right hand on the fourth string. Place your index finger on the third string. Place your middle finger on the second string, Put your ring finger on the first string.


• 3 Pluck the strings in succession, thumb, index, middle, ring. Thumb, index, middle, ring. This is a D arpeggio. Play these notes for three minutes over and over or until you can play them faster and faster.

• 4 Play the notes in a descending pattern. Ring, middle, index, thumb. Ring, middle, index, thumb. Play them for three minutes in this descending pattern or until you can play them fast.
