The Art Of INSPIRATION
INSPIRATION BY LIFETIME LIGHTING SYSTEMS
A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER Thank you for choosing Lifetime Lighting Systems. The word lifetime is more than just our name, it’s our philosophy. Our goal is to provide you with a service and product that will last a lifetime. Whether you’re hosting a party, relaxing after a long day at work, or just want more security through lighting, our products will provide for a lifetime. With 30 plus years in the industry, I’ve had both great successes and the inevitable humbling failure. Regardless of the situation I learn from every experience and move forward. I’ve heard the naysayers, many have wondered why I haven’t retired from the industry. The reason is simple, my passion is lighting. This passion has grown beyond just creating the most innovative lighting products in the industry, it’s also sharing my knowledge with both homeowners and professionals alike. There’s nothing more disheartening to me than seeing a poorly designed lighting portrait. A product is just a product unless it is utilized correctly. We work with landscapers and construction professionals to insure proper design and installation.
Without Light...
There Is No Space
ILLUMINATION FOR VISUAL AWARENESS WHAT IS A LIVING LIGHT PORTRAIT? A lighting portrait is a comprehensive lighting design that includes: ‣‣Lighting enhancements from all viewpoints both inside and out ‣‣Creation of scenes through proper fixture placement ‣‣Highlighting focal points such as fountains or yard art ‣‣Increasing usable space ‣‣Levels of light ‣‣Fulfillment of night time outdoor enjoyment ‣‣Creation of visual transportation ‣‣Putting all of these together ultimately creates a Living Lighting Portrait. It highlights the focal points, creates space, is visually pleasing, and draws people outdoors after dark.
Proper Outdoor Lighting Is The Least Expensive Improvement That A Homeowner Can Do To Maximize The Overall Experience And Usability Of That Living Space.
BEAUTY - INVESTMENT - ENJOYMENT WHY LIGHT? Without light, there is no space. Imagine having rooms inside your home that had no lights. You would undoubtedly not enter those rooms. Proper lighting creates usable space indoors, and it does the same outdoors. For example, by properly lighting a barbeque, that space now becomes usable at both day & night, rather than just the day. No other investment to your home will increase prime real estate to the outside of your home like outdoor lighting. This ultimately leads to increasing the enjoyment of your home for both your friends & family.
Security A poorly lit home is more likely to be a target for theft, vandalism, or even worse. Lighting deters people seeking to do ill-will by eliminating the shadows and hiding spots. Lastly, by lighting properly, you can guide people through your yard safely by directing people to the proper pathways. Without light, people run the risk of tripping, falling, stepping on something they shouldn’t, and ultimately injuring themselves. Lighting in essence shows the way.
Charming, Compositions Of Contrast
GLARE ELIMINATION
GLARE Glare is the number one spoiler of a lighting portrait. The eye is automatically drawn to glare, thus taking away from the overall vision. Glare is easily eliminated with the proper fixture. Use a fixture that includes some sort of glare elimination device. These include a rotating hex louver, shroud, and lenses
that either eliminates glare or tone down the intensity. All of these are part of a Lifetime Lighting Systems fixture.

HOTSPOTS
HOTSPOTS Hotspots are similar to glare in that they draw the attention away from the overall portrait. Hotspots are created when a fixture is improperly placed and the light is focused intensely on one part of the focal point instead of softly illuminating the desired point. Many
LTLS
times the fixture can’t be relocated due to space. In this case, eliminating the hotspot has to be handled in the fixture. The Creator and Atlas ledge lights can rotate out, which allows the lamp to be lower into the fixture, thus trapping the light and eliminating the hotspot.

DESIGN STRATEGIES
DESIGN STRATEGIES Most lighting companies will tell you that it takes lots of different beam spreads, Kelvin temperatures, and fixture choices to create a lighting job. This complicates not only the design but future considerations and maintenance. For you the end-user, the right way is to use placement of the fixture to establish a relationship of brightness to achieve certain levels of light. Think of them as layers of light.
This technique will allow you to create: ‣‣ Focal Points ‣‣ Depth ‣‣ Vertical Elements ‣‣ Visual Direction ‣‣ Visual Transportation ‣‣ Define The Perimeter ‣‣ Sub Scenes
Awaken And Reveal Your Hidden Beauty
CREATING MAGIC
CREATING MAGIC Creating the magic of illumination requires more than just a design. To ensure that the design can be brought to life, it requires a fixture that has the ability to meet the design requirements. In short, a fixture needs to be precisely aimed. The placement of a fixture is imperative. If a fixture isn’t properly distanced from a focal point, it can create a hotspot or let off glare, which takes away from the overall lighting
portrait. The issue is that sometimes perfect placement isn’t always possible. In these cases, having additional adjustability is crucial. Most fixtures have 180° of up and down adjustability, but this may not be enough. LTLS fixtures have the same 180° adjustability, but they also have the capability of being rotated 360°. This 540° of adjustability guarantees that you will be able to precisely aim the fixture in any situation.
GREAT LIGHTING TRIGGERS GREAT EMOTIONS Creating a well designed lighting portrait awakens emotion. Stress is a daily occurrence. As you journey into your personal sanctuary, your senses and mood quickly awaken. Relaxation, comfort, peace, and harmony will be your new reality. The interaction of light blending into the sunset, silhouetting certain element is awe inspiring. Negative and positive space creates the contrast that only nature could replicate. Until now.

PHILOSOPHY
PHILOSOPHY Picasso once did a sketch of a woman which only took 10 minutes. “Wow, that only took 10 minutes?” Someone asked…Picasso replied, “No, that has taken me all of my life.” To master anything, it takes time. In lighting, it takes many years, and 10’s of 1000’s of lights installed to develop a philosophy. Having this many fixtures installed, it is a lesson learned that not enough fixtures creates gaps or black holes. Gaps in lighting cause strain on the eyes, and make the outdoors less inviting after dark. Too
many lights, create a washed out daytime effect. This kind of outcome is not inviting either. The beauty of lighting is the subtleness and the contrast between light and dark. Balance is the art, and cohesion is the key to visually connect spaces together with just the right amount of contrast. Just the right amount of light will create the perfect “Lighting Portrait.” Highlighting textures with light creates dramatic shadowing. When done right, perfect shadowing and areas of your living space will reveal themselves right before your eyes.

CONNECTING THE DOTS USING VISUAL DIRECTION
CONNECTING THE DOTS... Visual Direction is the idea of creating a safe passage throughout your yard. Whether the intended illuminating space spans an area as simple as the street to the front door or the back door leading to the fire pit, proper lighting makes it safe and easy to traverse. When creating Visual Direction, a common error is the placement of path lights. Often times they are placed in way that look like an airport runway and ultimately leave the surrounding landscape hidden in the darkness. Proper design strategy begins with prioritizing your visual objectives. This will
properly pinpoint your most desired destinations and hangout spots within the yard. To achieve your perfect lighting portrait, you will master a technique used in lighting, called Layering. Layering is the concept of incorporating various levels of lighting together. This layering effect helps create & navigate the traffic through the walkway, without creating the look of an airport runway at night. By placing a taller light 8 – 12 feet away, you will create a larger spread of light, keeping lights out of harm’s way, and will prevent the fixture from being the star of the show.
There are many things that will ruin a lighting portrait including:
‣‣Glare ‣‣Hotspots ‣‣Fixture Failure

HARSH CONDITIONS Outdoor lighting fixtures live in a harsh environment. They are susceptible to weather, animals, kids, and many other things. The bottom line is‌all fixtures will break eventually. When a fixture breaks, the lighting portrait is negatively impacted. When done correctly, every light in the design of a lighting environment serves a purpose. It creates cohesiveness, a smooth transition from one light to the next. Up until this point, it was simply just accepted that lights break, and when that happens the
fixture was simply just replaced. This cost has usually been pushed off onto the customer. Many manufacturers claim that they have lifetime warranties, but getting the warranty fulfilled is difficult, if possible at all. So, installers simply go buy the cheapest figure they can find and plug it in where the faulty light once was. LTLS is dedicated to keeping your lighting portrait intact. Our fixtures are field repairable. This means that if one of our fixtures have a failure, you don’t need to replace the entire fixture. You can simply replace the faulty part. Be it a stake, a knuckle, housing, shroud, lens, or even the lamp, it can be purchased and replaced.

COMMON PROBLEMS
BROKEN KNUCKLES
BROKEN KNUCKLES The knuckle breaking is one of the more common injuries that lighting fixtures face. Historically, you have to replace the entire fixture, or send it back to the manufacturer for repair. LTLS is the first company to have a replaceable knuckle. No more spending money on a new fixture or sending it for repair, LTLS saves you time and money by making the knuckle replaceable.
DIRTY & BROKEN LENSES
EASY STAKE REPLACEMENT
CRACKED LENSES
WOUNDED STAKES
It is almost guaranteed that over time lenses will build up calcium or debris that will hinder the lights performance. Much of this is caused by flat lenses that allow things to accumulate, and ultimately block the beam spread. LTLS uses a convex lens that draws moisture away thus slowing the corrosion process.
Ground stakes by far are the most common victims on a light fixture. They get kicked, ran over, hit by the gardener, and a variety of other ways. The normal process is that the line has to get cut in order to replace the stake. After you replace the stake, you then have to tie the wires back together, then put a stake in the ground. These additional wire connections are a new point of failure.
OUR SOLUTIONS
REMOVABLE KNUCKLE SYSTEM Replace broken knuckles on the fly. No more sending the fixture back to the manufacture and dealing with long wait times. Keep a few knuckles in your work vehicle to turn a once labor intensive process into a 30 second repair.
REMOVABLE LENSES Swap in, Replace, Clean and adjust your fixture optics all while in the field. No more getting stuck with permanent lenses. For hanging lights, pull out the lens to allow water to flow out uninhibited.
LOAD N’ LOCK MOUNTS AND STAKES Broken stakes = no problem. Fixture adjustment once the lights already in the ground = no problem. Quick, Durable and Easy.

AMBISONIC L-240 ALL WEATHER OUTDOOR AMPLIFIER
‣‣Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity ‣‣Eliminates the need to run wires from an amp (240 watts RMS) to outdoor wireless speakers. ‣‣No more issues transmitting a wireless signal from the house. ‣‣High Fidelity and Wireless, LAN, and Line-Level inputs
THE ENDURING ISSUE OF OUTDOOR AUDIO SYSTEMS Where to put the amplifier? Running speaker wires have always been extra work. Up to this point, amplifiers have always needed to be installed inside of the home. That entails mounting, cutting holes, running wire through the wall, etc... the margin for error is tight. Another common problem occurs with transmitting a wireless signal from the house.
CONNECTIVITY The IP65-rated outdoor audio solution features wireless network and bluetooth connectivity, enabling integrators to install outdoor audio zones without having to run wires, which saves their clients the time and added expense of burying speaker cables.
‣‣Incorporates Apple Airplay functionality to make it easier for Apple smart devices and computers to connect to the system ‣‣Can serve as a wireless access point (WAP) to extend wireless network connectivity, ‣‣Outputs 240 watts RMS and is stable down to 2 ohms to support its use with just about any loudspeaker to drive any two-channel stereo outdoor audio system.
POWER Getting enough power to run a wireless outdoor audio system has been an ongoing dilemma for installers. The AmbiSonic L-240 All-Weather Wi-Fi amplifier hopes to resolve that problem.
IP 65-RATING It addresses the primary problem that installers always have of “Where do you put the amplifier in an outdoor audio installation?” Typically, you can’t put an amplifier outside because you have vents that are susceptible to moisture and condensation. Then you have to run speaker wires at long distances from an inside the house where the amplifier typically resides. Then you also have to figure out how to get the signal from inside to outside, especially if it’s a wireless signal.
