What Key Club Has Done for Me By Hailey Morrison I've changed quite a decent amount during these past 4 years, and for the most part I have Key Club to thank for that. Key Club became my favorite part of the week and become somewhere I felt safe being who I wanted to be. My freshman year, I wasn't comfortable being in large groups unless I had someone to follow around that I was really close with and even then I couldn't full enjoy what I was doing. But coming into my senior year, I'm able to enjoy the events I'm at even if I don’t have a friend attached to my hip (although I'd prefer if someone was). Thanks to Key Club I've done things I never expected to do, I didn't come into the club thinking I was going to become anything Continues on the next page

more than a member. But my junior year, I was the treasurer of our club and I was part of the spirit committee for our division. Both of those things were so much better than I could have ever expected, the spirit committee became a group that I loved and would anxiously wait for the next meeting just so I could see them again. I never could have gotten to that point if it weren't for this club, I never would have signed up for anything during my freshman year because I didn't believe in myself. But throughout high school I've been able to come to accept who I am and who I want to be, and I'd be lying if I said that Key Club wasn't a major factor in shaping my high school life into something meaningful.
