When you ask our students what words they associate the most with Kents Hill, they say,
‘‘home away from home.’’
4D Learning is real and relevant. Our 4D Academic Curriculum builds a foundation of knowledge, skills, character, and reflection.
Project-based learning and independent studies give you a clear advantage over your peers in how you understand yourself and the world around you.
How do you understand your identity? How do you make a robot? What’s happening to the Great Barrier Reef? How can we address poverty in central Maine and beyond? Is nuclear
power a friend or foe?
How can we limit our carbon footprint? What does it really mean to be a good citizen?
Each week, small groups of students and faculty come together to participate in a PEAK Program (Principles, Ethics, and Action at Kents Hill) workshop. Together, they explore their own values, engage with people who think and believe differently, and begin to positively impact their immediate and larger community. Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Belonging is real. From the moment that they step onto campus for orientation, students and faculty have meaningful, complex, and essential conversations around race and issues of societal inequality while developing the tools to become part of an anti-racist school.
Are you stretched or stressed? We’ve designed our daily schedule to combine academic rigor and reflection. Classes start at 9 a.m. with one hour for lunch.
Three 30-minute long X-Block periods each week allow time to study and catch up, while three different club periods allow you to develop leadership skills and dive into what you really care about.

This year-long experience introduces students to the basic foundations of visual and performing arts, including Ceramics, Woodworking, and Drawing and Painting. From there, they have the opportunity to select from over 20 courses and electives to explore.
The Learning Skills Program combines curriculum-based tutoring with social-emotional awareness to help students thrive in all aspects of school life, ensuring that they are prepared to tackle college and beyond with self-confidence, selfdetermination, and self-advocacy.
Kents Hill students are empowered to
shape their own path and take advantage of learning opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. They learn to navigate through difficult
situations, take responsibility, and use their voice for good.

The faculty-student connection is one of the basic building blocks of a Kents Hill education. Faculty are advisors, coaches, dorm parents, mentors, and teachers. In this trusting environment, you’ll feel safe enough to be yourself. Our students often share that they feel accepted, seen, heard, and valued — sometimes for the first time in their school experience.

“One of my favorite things about
Kents Hill is being outside.” — Jackson M.
400 beautiful acres are yours to explore. Will you learn to kayak, swim, and paddleboard at our private waterfront? Discover miles of wooded trails on your mountain bike? Visit the on-campus ski slope to ski and snowboard? From outdoor classrooms to evening bonfires, we give students the flexibility to try new things and enjoy all that Maine has to offer.
Close your eyes.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years? We help our students focus on goals and growth. They leave Kents Hill prepared for the best colleges and universities. Even more importantly, for the world.
