GRAYMARKET DESIGN graymarketdesign.com
Handmade by Many Hands Although these beautiful napkins, pillows and scarves are assembled in Graymarket Design’s Louisville studio, the material is handmade in Asia. A team of artisans in Jaipur, India, create the hand-drawn designs, which are then carved into a teak wood block. After the cotton is dyed and the inks are created, the block is used as a stamp to transfer the pattern onto the fabric. The final gorgeous and high-quality product is the work of many hands.

SMOKE & SPIRITS
shopsmokeandspirits.com
Bring More Bourbon into Your Life Making home décor, jewelry and barware from reclaimed wood is a great idea … but what if that wood comes from used bourbon barrels? Sounds like every Kentuckian’s dream. Smoke & Spirits owners Matt and Chrissy Rippetoe use the charred oak barrels to produce wall décor and create earrings from staves and barrel lids. If you breathe in deeply, you can still smell the wonderful aged bourbon in the wood grain.

A MATTER OF LIGHT The Ar t of Andre Pater The first comprehensive overview of the works of Andre Pater, who is considered the finest sporting artist working today, has just been published. Titled A Matter of Light: The Art of Andre Pater, this 240-page coffee table book includes more than 200 selected paintings and drawings, along with writings, musings, observations and essays about Pater’s life and work. In 11 visually powerful chapters, A Matter of Light: The Art of Andre Pater shines light on the artistic periods of this artist and how his style and technique evolved with a gamut of subjects from equestrian, historical and genre paintings to his recent Native American portrayals. With a foreword by the Duke of Devonshire and an art essay by Lorian Peralto-Ramos, the book is interwoven with lively pieces by former President of Keeneland James E. Bassett, Ambassador William Farish, Jockey Ramon Dominguez and others who add their voices and colorful memories, painting an intimate portrait of Pater’s life and journey as an artist. “A Matter of Light: The Art of Andre Pater” $85.00
