Community Café Thursday mornings in the Community Hall at Rockingham Road Baptist Church. Please note that from 27th July to 31st August we will only be open 10am to 11am for tea, coffee, biscuits and cake. 7th September onwards we will be open 10am to 12.30pm with our full menu. There will still be a drop in for “Accommodation Concern”

See timetable below for other events. THE LINK is a drop-in, open to all of any faith or none. Here we provide free food, showers, clothing, recreation, use of phone for work/accommodation search and for £1 a bag of laundry. Users are registered and photographed so that they can be identified for collecting laundry etc. Support is available and our aim is to LINK folk who’ve dropped out, back into society. Our Leaders have been trained at and have served in the Step-up at Northampton Jesus Centre. 2 computers are also available (free) for work/accommodation search. The Link is only open to those over 16 years old. THE LOUNGE is again open to all of any faith or none. It is a place of relaxation with free tea, coffee and biscuits (a donation is invited). There are books to read and take away, jigsaw puzzles, board games to play and a corner for children (to be accompanied by parents at all times). It is a safe place for the lonely or needy. The INFO DESK can provide help and support, links to local services and referral to our LEGAL SIGNPOSTING (operated by a retired Solicitor) which aims to help people find the support they need. FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLED. The premises are not large but there is accessible limited wheelchair space downstairs and a small disability equipped toilet. There is a stair-lift to the first floor LINK but users must be capable of getting themselves back downstairs in the event of fire. REFERRAL. No referral is normally necessary but do please alert us to anyone with special needs or sensitivities. Please also check before referring people to our Everyday English Course (see over leaf). Our Safeguarders are Jo Murray (07508801619) and John White (07774581562) who will always be pleased to discuss any concerns with you.

OUR ETHOS The Centre is clearly Christian, but everyone involved will be expected to respect the beliefs and cultures of all and the Centre will be totally non-judgmental and open to all. Praying and/or sharing the Gospel with a visitor will only take place with the visitor’s clear consent. The broad range of services and activities at the Centre makes it relevant to many different kinds of visitors. OUR AIMS • To reduce the personal suffering associated with economic or social deprivation by meeting material, social and emotional needs on a holistic basis, without prejudice to any. • To build capacity on a non prejudiced holistic basis to help individuals to make significant progress in their lives including reduction of addictions and the rehabilitation of offenders. • To promote the advancement of the Christian religion by facilitating Church activities and by provision of appropriate spiritual services. • To increase social skills and cohesion through the provision of recreational and community facilities. • To operate as an effective and efficient charity, complementing and working constructively with other agencies, and benefiting volunteers by utilising and developing their skills and experience. A RESOURCE FOR KETTERING The Centre is financed by the Jesus Army Charitable Trust Ltd. and intended as a resource for Kettering for the benefit of all, of any faith or none. We want the Centre to take it’s place within the existing faith and other charitable networks and we welcome constructive guidance from them.

Other places to meet and chat Fuller Coffee House Fuller Coffee House operate a five day a week befriending service, mornings and afternoons offering a listening ear to anyone who wants to talk. You’ll find them on Newland Street, Kettering. The Salvation Army – Luncheon Club Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11am to 2pm (Except Bank Holidays). Tea and coffee, toast and cereal, plus food bank. Use the Regent Street entrance (red door). Tel: 01536 513 883. Four Seasons Breakfast Cafe A breakfast cafe is open Wednesdays and Fridays at the Four Seasons Centre from 8.30am to 10.30am. Come and enjoy a bacon or sausage baguette with a hot drink for only £2, or have a slice of toast and some fruit juice. You’ll find them on School Lane in Kettering. Tel: 01536 484 259. Thorpe Malsor Tea and Chat at Thorpe Malsor Social Club. Third Wednesday of the month at 10.30am. All welcome. Loddington Café St Leonards, held on the third Saturday of each month in the Village Hall, A warm welcome served with a hot drink, bacon buttie or a danish pastry. A great way to meet fellow villagers. Cransley Village Hall Andy’s Café Cransley Village Hall, held on the third Saturday every month from 10am to 11.30am. We serve coffee, tea and bacon rolls and it’s ALL FREE. Come along and read the papers and meet other villagers. This is provided by St.Andrew’s Church (hence Andy’s Café) to serve our community. Broughton Munch and Mingle, held on the second Saturday in St.Andrews Church. We serve coffee, tea and bacon rolls and it’s ALL FREE. Come along and read the papers and meet other villagers. Desborough Marlow House Coffee morning, held on the third Saturday each month, raffle, bric a brac, tea, coffee’s, cakes and cooked English breakfasts available, 9.30am to 11.30am.
