INTEGRATED COMMUNITY HOUSING Our world is changing. Globalisation has shifted cultural specificities. It has transformed communication networks and has radically changed the population density, diversity and economy of our cities. At the same time, modern advances in science, technology and industry have significantly influenced the way we live, how long we live and where we live. Many developing countries are experiencing rapid urban growth due to their high economic growth rate. Architects, urban designers, theorists and artists all over the world are responding to the explosion of urbanism. Some are examining how we live and the effects of our urban environments. Many are imagining new forms of cities, which are socially democratic, promote social cohesion and which respond to the urgent need to create sustainable environments.
Aim is to demonstrate design solution that generates the opportunities of ‘LIVE-WORK-PLAY’ model for integrated community living. LOCATION: SITE AREA: DATE:

A great city...but a terrible place, to an outsider. This city might seem a morass of chaos and decay but to us, it is the stuff that dreams are made of.

Community grows when people feel belonging within a group, in a place with a distinctive sense of place, among friends who look out for them, stimulate them and come to their rescue in times of need.

PROJECT 01/13
WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT Diu district is a small island of 40 sq. km situated at the entrance of the Gulf of Cambay near Veraval Port. At the present condition there are plenty of tourist spots in Diu. A lot of visitors tour around Diu throughout the year. Considering such potential as a vital tourist destination, Diu lacks development of infrastructure that can be sufficient for such a large number of tourists. There is no one public place as big as bunder chowk in diu so most of the public activity are happening here. The infrastructure of a place right now is extremely limited and surviving with limited facilities. So there is need to develop facilities such as information center, water side restaurant and bar, service apartment for tourists, water front area, amphitheater, shops and other common amenities. The aim of this project is to gain the image of the Bunder chowk, diu as a city junction and to identify and address the problems related existing settlement. LOCATION: SITE AREA: DATE:

MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT The aim is to build urban hybrid development proposal combines characteristics of city dwelling – privacy with the characteristics of suburban life, gardens, a neighborhood mixed-use community. Environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability are foundational elements of the project.
The project consist of 160 apartments of 4 different types and 720 twin bunglows. A cohesive landscaping plan foresees a wide variety of fruit trees in the courtyard, in both the private and public areas. An important aspect of the project is the high quality of construction in combination with relatively low prices. Clients will be able to buy a more or less finished house – comparable to the basic model of a new car – with options leading up to almost full fit and finish possible.
