Fiona Shaw
Some might say there is something rather “old fashioned” about Fiona Shaw. She certainly looked good in a Victorian style pinafore, when as an emerging young thespian, she was caste in the eighties Sherlock Holmes drama “The Adventure of the Crooked Man” Even back then her cut glass vibe, self contained demeanour, transparent complexion and stunning interpretative skills drew the public's attention, however few could have imagined she would morph into the sensibly dressed, classy British Treasure she is today.
said daughter did end up being an esteemed Shakespearean actress! Even if said daughter compromised and studied a philosophy degree to calm mother and father down. Even if the whole family was shaken to the core when her brother was killed in a car crash and it seemed as if she would never act again. “When Peter died, it stopped me. I was just having my debut at the RSC. It was devastating.” A Walk to Fame
But her life mission won through all the challenge in the end. In fact, one A Unique Vibe could say Fiona is a “walk to fame” type of girl. Her gifts included strolling When one is born in County Cork, has a into the operatic version of “Cinderella” Roman Catholic upbringing and a at Glyndebourne and directing the Taurus earth sign hits one's moon for six, whole shebang, sauntering into the a little girl is sure to emanate a unique Olivier Award for Best Actress in “vibe” or two. Being an imaginative “Machinal”, and pacing straight into the Cancer, her day dreams might have title role in “Medea” in the West End included dancing at the ball with the and on Broadway. She also starred in princess in the palace. She tried not to “Hedda Gabler”, again looking totally lose herself in her imagination, in smashing in a pinafore. miss out on anything, she can hold forth on “all things civilised”. She apparently told the Guardian "she loves canals, but does not dig houseboats." Daaah! She also expounded on how working on “Killing Eve” was inspiring, and not only because she won a Bafta award for her role.
“I was frightened to do that role because it was a big departure. I was losing sleep worrying”. But she has overcome all that now, she can even giggle about those challenges.
A Hub of Insight Blame her thespian hilarity on Mercury in Leo; Mr L likes to think on his feet, draw on a hub of insight. Fiona's Mr Leo seeks an audience, glories in the applause, the approval ratings, if Fiona were not an actress she would be throwing a “larger than life” wobbly at least once a week, just for the fun of it. With Leo in Mercury she hates “predictable”, digs a bit of a noise and is naturally “theatrical”! Perhaps that Cancerian influence inspires her philosophical tendencies too, she certainly can surprise others with her insights; those “Ha Ha!” moments that will always save the day, and see her enjoying one of life's new rides yet again. Her career is stimulating, but it is Saturn in Sagittarius that helps her cross the t's and dot the i's, respecting the rules of working “on set” in the process, rules that also tell one that if one falls in love, it is deep and could be forever. Credit: BBC
Forever Fiona is married to Sonali Deraniyagala, a brilliant boxing day tsunami Survivor, a beautiful woman and professor at Columbia University, who is now her wife. Who would have ever thought so many dreams would come true when a little girl in Cork imagined being a princess in a ball room. “There is that sense of possibility about everyone." she once said. "It is like Simone De Beauvoir says, your life isn’t agreed until you come to the end of it. You don’t know what you are.” Perhaps Fiona likes not knowing who she is, that is until she stands on a set, or a stage, and enact parts of us, that want to know, but fear to.

When You’re Alone at Special Times of the Year
There are certain times of the year when being alone, perhaps without your children, can feel especially raw. Christmas Day, long Bank Holiday weekends, holidays and key social events can be a real struggle if you’re on your own, especially for the first year. Being separated from your children, when you’re used to spending lots of time with them, can be really tough.
Tips for being alone at special times of the year; Remind yourself that it's just one day. If you miss out on a Christmas or birthday together it can be easy to get caught up in a cycle of gloom and despondency. Try to detach from those feelings, arrange an alternative day to celebrate and really focus on making your times together special. Acknowledge that some time alone can be a great opportunity to catch up on chores and essentials, but also dedicate some time so you enjoy a few treats. Have a leisurely bath, light those lovely scented candles you've been saving, watch the match, read a book, listen to some good music, prepare your favourite food. Relish having the place to yourself. Relax, de-stress and treat yourself well over Christmas or the holidays.
Avoid guilt-tripping your children or regaling them with details of your distress. Children are not stupid, they're good at sensing how you're feeling and will usually be very aware of what's going on. Yes, they'll allow the other parent to bribe them with holidays and expensive gifts - why wouldn't they! But they'll also appreciate your daily efforts to feed and care for them, the things you suspect go largely unnoticed. Maintain an involvement in other areas of life so that you’re prepared for Christmas and significant times of the year. Keep your identity and establish interests away from the home. Keep up to date with the news, popular TV, what's happening in your neighbourhood, so you're confident enough to participate in conversations, build new social connections and be interested and interesting, so attracting new friends. Is it time to accept an offer from friends or colleagues to be introduced to someone they know? Might it be fun to meet someone new and take a chance on something different? Mixing and talking to new people, particularly potential dates, is a great way to improve your confidence and self-esteem, motivate you to dress up, look after yourself and remind yourself that you're more than 'just' a parent! Plus conversing socially with new people is an important skill, quickly lost if we're out of practice and haven't socialised independently in a while. Are you ready to consider dipping a tentative toe into the official dating scene again? Online dating sites are a popular way of meeting new people and also offer great practical safety advice. For example, be careful how much personal information you divulge, limit a first meeting to an hour and in a public place, and trust your gut instincts if you start to feel uneasy. Make invitations. Take charge of the parts of your life you have some control over, like your social life. Be proactive and join mailing lists for details of what’s on over the holidays. Source free exhibitions, two for the price of one offers and early doors specials on meals. Become the go-to guy for fun and also accept when
others reciprocate and invite you along. Keep in touch with what's happening around you. Provide reasonable options. Your friends and inner circle may wish to socialise but may need to be careful about their expenditure, especially over Christmas. You could suggest a pamper evening at home, or a supper party where everyone contributes a dish and/or bottle. Or retrieve your board games and have competition evenings; I know several people who started games evenings over the winter months and enjoyed them so much that they became a regular part of their calendar. Also, try to make time for some of the things that interest you. Volunteer, join a class, walking group or activity you enjoy. Many voluntary organisations are desperate for help, especially over Christmas. Maybe alternate child care with other parents and dedicate some free time to mixing and meeting people with similar interests to you. Enjoy sharing conversations, becoming friends and, who knows, maybe meeting a potential new love interest too.
Remind yourself that each situation has pros and cons. Being single isn't the end of the world! Alone doesn't have to mean lonely. In fact many people in unhappy relationships will envy you your freedom and the fact that you're now starting out afresh. Relax and enjoy your Christmas!

Stay Healthy this Winter
As the temperatures stop to drop this month the onset of Winter can affect your health, but this doesn’t have to be the unhealthiest time of the time. The NHS have suggested 5 simple ways of keeping fit and healthy throughout the long and cold months ahead.
Many people feel tired and sluggish during winter. This is due to the lack of sunlight, which disrupts our sleep and waking cycles. ● Get outdoors in natural daylight as much as possible ● Get a good night's sleep – go to bed and wake up at the same time every day ● De-stress with exercise or meditation – stress has been shown to make you feel tired
When it's cold and dark outside, it can be tempting to fill up on unhealthy comfort food. However, it's important to ensure you still have a healthy diet and include five portions of fruit and veg a day. ●If you find yourself craving a sugary treat, try a juicy clementine or satsuma instead. ●Winter vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, swede and turnips can be roasted, mashed or made into soup for a comforting winter meal for the whole family. Explore varieties of fruit and veg that you may not normally eat. Credit: NHS
You are more likely to get a cold in winter, so make sure your immune system is in tip-top condition. Milk and dairy products such as cheese, yoghurt and fromage frais are great sources of: ● Protein ● Vitamins A and B12 ● Calcium, which helps keep our bones strong ●Choose semi-skimmed, 1% or skimmed milk – rather than full-fat – and low-fat plain yoghurts.
Don't use the cold winter months as an excuse to stay in and lounge around. Instead, get out with the whole family to try out a new activity –maybe ice skating, or taking a bracing winter walk on the beach or through the park. ● Regular exercise helps control your weight, boost your immune system, and is a good way to break the tension that can build if the family is constantly cooped up inside the house.
Winter is the perfect season for porridge. Eating a warm bowlful on a cold morning isn't just a delicious way to start your day, it also helps boost your intake of starchy foods and fibre. These foods give you energy and help you feel fuller for longer, stopping the temptation to snack mid-morning. Oats also contain lots of vital vitamins and minerals. ● Make your porridge with semi-skimmed, 1% or skimmed milk, or water, and don't add sugar or salt. Add a sliced banana, berries or other fruit for extra flavour and to help you hit your 5 A Day target. For more advice, tips and tools to help you make the best choices about your health and wellbeing, visit the NHS website. Credit: NHS

Call The Midwife
Created and written by Heidi Thomas, Call the Midwife returns to BBC One for a Christmas special on Christmas Day 2019, with a ninth series in January 2020. Heidi Thomas (Creator, writer and executive producer) said “It was so magical filming the Christmas episode in the Outer Hebrides, it was possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been in my life. "The interesting thing about series nine is that our characters will challenge their own expectations of the jobs they do. Some of them have been working at Nonnatus House for years, with medical and scientific developments making life quite comfortable. I wanted there to be a challenge to their certainty which works so well in the Christmas Special. The Outer Hebrides didn’t immediately spring to mind, I briefly considered Hong Kong because our story could take us back there, but it wasn’t going to tick our magical Christmas box and in my research I discovered the role that triple duty nurses played in the Hebrides at that time. A triple duty nurse is a midwife, a district nurse and a health visitor all rolled into one which is exactly the skillset our midwives use in Poplar. Pippa Harris (Executive producer) added “I think the Christmas episode is a real treat this year, in the past, we’ve normally stayed in Poplar and once ventured further afield when we went to South Africa but this time, we’ve gone to the Outer Hebrides which I think is extraordinary. It’s an extraordinary backdrop and the cast really relish this new opportunity for them to do good in a different part of the UK.

December Horoscopes from Russell Grant
How will the stressful Full Moon change your life on the 12th..?
ARIES Upsetting news about a community issue will arrive on the 12th, due to a stressful Full Moon. Government officials have been cutting deals behind the scenes. These negotiations will have a negative impact on the people living in your neighbourhood. It would be wise to band together and devise a plan for defying these orders. There is power in numbers. A Solar Eclipse on the 26th highlights your leadership ability. You'll be asked to take the helm of an influential organisation. Your ability to fundraise and organise will cultivate success. Don't be surprised if you become something of a local celebrity as a result of this role. People will be impressed with your ability to spin straw into gold. You also command a loyal following, thanks to your ability to deliver on promises. The end of December will find your sphere of influence expanding. When you talk, others will listen.
TAURUS Payment for a job well done will be less than expected. An aggravating Full Moon on the 12th will trigger an angry exchange with a deceptive client or customer. If you loaned money to a friend, it will be difficult to be repaid. The person you helped will claim they were given this sum as a gift. Let this be a lesson about mixing friendship with finance. Combining the two is often disastrous. Things will start looking up on the 26th, when a Solar Eclipse invites you to expand your horizons. Going on an overseas trip, enrolling in an advanced academic programme or publishing a book are among the possibilities. It's also possible that you'll broadcast your ideas via a newspaper column, podcast or blog. Use the closing days of the year to build a reputation as a respected expert. Your services shouldn't come free, they have to be paid for, allowing you to travel in style.
GEMINI You'll be placed in an awkward position in the middle of December. Your boss may ask you to take the blame for their mistake on the 12th, when a Full Moon threatens to expose their ineptitude. It's better to walk away from a secure position than serve as a human shield. Tender your resignation or turn down a promotion. Being unemployed during the Christmas season is never a happy situation, but keep the faith. A Solar Eclipse on the 26th will reap handsome financial rewards. An inheritance, legal settlement or insurance refund will be unexpectedly rewarded to you. This windfall will greatly improve your lifestyle. Not only will you be able to cover your expenses, you'll be able to pay your debts and enjoy a few luxuries, too. This improved financial situation will take the pressure off an intimate relationship, paving the way for some passionate encounters at the end of 2019.
CANCER Troubling information will come to light on the 12th, due to a revelatory Full Moon. Someone who has been pretending to have expert knowledge will be exposed as a fraud. Let this be a lesson about putting your faith in others. When you are compelled by a charismatic figure, do some research into their background. You may discover their claims have no basis in reality. A Solar Eclipse on the 26th paves the way to an exciting relationship. Falling in love or forming a business alliance are distinct possibilities. You also might get engaged or married. Joining forces with someone else will have long term benefits. If you already have a romantic partner, they'll have wonderful career news. You might be accompanying your partner on a series of glamorous business trips. Seeing the world on an expense account will be the answer to a prayer. A special closeness will develop between you and your amour.
LEO Things will be tense on the friendship front in mid-December. The Full Moon on the 12th will fuel tempers. Resist the temptation to respond to an obnoxious or offensive remark on social media. You may feel compelled to defend a group who is being attacked. Injecting yourself into this conversation will be like pouring gasoline on a smouldering fire. Maintain a tactful silence and let the verbally abusive person fall on their own sword. A Solar Eclipse on the 26th invites you to launch a health regimen. Overhauling your diet, exercise and sleep routine will enhance your natural good looks. You'll turn heads wherever you go at the end of December. If you've been looking for a job, you'll land a position at a prestigious company. This role will involve extensive travel. Staying at the world's most luxurious hotels will be just your cup of tea. You'll be travelling first class all the way.
VIRGO A tense career situation will come to a head on the 12th, due to a powerful Full Moon. You may confront a rival who has been spreading lies about you. It's possible you'll employer will side with them instead of you. If this happens, stay calm. Don't quit in a huff. Begin looking for another professional opportunity. It's easier to find a position when you already have one. By the time the 26th arrives, the Solar Eclipse will reward your search. A position in a creative field will be offered to you. It will feel like you're getting paid a handsome salary for having fun. The final days of 2019 will have a karmic quality to them. The Universe will reward your patience, perseverance and superior talent. Don't be surprised when your work turns you into a virtual love magnet. You're never as attractive as when you are practicing your art.
LIBRA On the 12th, you might experience a series of frustrating travel delays. The more flexible you are about this situation, the better. If your flight is overbooked, it would be wise to accept a seat on a plane that leaves the next day. Relaxing in a hotel room will be much better than waiting in an airport terminal, waiting for a flight that will ultimately be cancelled. Hold out for a good deal that will properly compensate your time and aggravation. Exciting changes to your household will occur on the 26th, thanks to an expansive Solar Eclipse. You might move to an affluent area or buy a luxury home. It's also possible that a youngster or maybe an elderly relative joins your household, cultivating a joyous atmosphere. If you've been trying to sell a piece of property, you'll do so for a handsome profit. There will be cause for celebration at the end of December.
SCORPIO An unexpected expense could strain your bank account on the 12th. That's when the Full Moon will shed light on a shortage. You might have to buy additional memory for your computer or increase your router bandwidth. Although making this outlay will make you unhappy, it is necessary. Having reliable equipment that meets your needs is critical to your success in mid-December. Things will be looking up on the 26th, when a Solar Eclipse brings happy news. A cherished relative will come to visit or you could publish a book. If you've always wanted to study with a prominent teacher, you'll have the chance to do so in the final days of 2019. Don't hesitate to sign up for this course, as spots will fill quickly. Working with an accomplished teacher will help you realise your own potential. Cracking the books will seem more like a blessing than a burden; you'll love this learning process.
SAGITTARIUS A troubled relationship will reach the breaking point on the 12th. That's when the Full Moon will urge you to walk away from a manipulative friend, romantic partner or business associate. You once found their whimsical ways charming. Now you recognise their quirky behaviour as manipulative. Being constantly thrown off balance has stopped you from building a secure foundation. This relationship has also damaged some family ties. Take a deep breath and walk away from this union. A Solar Eclipse on the 26th will ease whatever heartache you've experienced. You'll be able to take a job or start a profitable business. Signing a contract with an international company will work out well for you. This agreement will relieve your financial burdens, paving the way to a luxurious and early retirement. If you run for political office, you will be victorious. The power and prestige of this position is considerable. Use this influence to benefit vulnerable people in your community.
CAPRICORN A health problem will demand your attention on the 12th, due to a disruptive Full Moon. If you're not satisfied with a doctor's prognosis, get a second opinion. It may be necessary to see a specialist to pinpoint a problem. Be patient and do everything in your power to cultivate wellness. If this means avoiding sugar, fat and alcohol during the Christmas season, so be it. The Solar Eclipse on the 26th marks an exciting beginning for you. It's possible you will earn an advanced degree, move abroad or start your own company. You will have the Midas touch during the final days of December. A small investment will have a huge return. If you've been thinking of changing your look, do so now; you will be delighted with the results and it will boost your confidence. Ring in 2020 by forging a brand-new identity.
AQUARIUS A romance will hit a rocky patch in December. The Full Moon in the middle of the month could reveal something troubling about your partner's financial situation. If you discover your amour has been less than honest about their income or debts, tread carefully. The last thing you want is to be implicated in their deceptions. If you're asked to co-sign for a loan or make an expensive purchase on their behalf, refuse. You're treading on dangerous ground. On the 26th, a Solar Eclipse will trigger a spiritual breakthrough. You may decide to get rid of material excess, leading a stripped-down life. It's also possible you'll go on a pilgrimage. This journey will open your eyes to fresh possibilities and new ways of being. It's very possible you'll adopt a sacred practice or have a religious conversion in the final days of December. Feeling a deep connection with your Higher Power will ease anxieties that have dogged you for years.
PISCES The Full Moon on the 12th will force a family confrontation. You've been turning a blind eye to a troubled relative's behaviour. It will be impossible to ignore these outbursts in mid-December. You will have to issue an ultimatum. Until your loved one gets treatment for an addiction or health affliction, you must withdraw your support. Friends will be supportive throughout the Christmas season. Spending the holiday with an affluent person you've known for years will be comforting. Be sure to pack a special outfit to wear at holiday parties. You'll make a great impression and meet someone special on the 26th, when a Solar Eclipse energises your social sector. Making an influential friend will open doors for you at the end of 2019. Who you know will be as important as what you know in the New Year. Whenever you need favours, ask for them. With the help of your companion, you'll realise a lifelong dream.
Plan for a Happy Christmas
Many of us get swept along by the magical notion of the perfect Christmas, but even religious leaders have expressed concern at the amount of financial pressure that consequently occurs, sometimes taking up to three years to repay. Gift shopping can be fraught with difficulties, but local markets and craft fairs often sell unique, attractive items with no discernible price. Interesting, locally sourced foods, jars of preserves, handmade pictures and crafts all make relatively inexpensive yet thoughtful gifts. Agree amongst adults that youยนre only giving gifts to children or commit to a price limit per gift or Secret Santa approach. Genuine offers of help could make a perfect Christmas gift; babysitting vouchers, making a cake, cooking dinner, painting a picture could be a real treat. Discuss present giving with children, especially older children and agree on one main present. Children often appreciate experiences and time spent together most of all; bird watching, scrap-booking or preparing and eating a picnic together. Fun times can be the most valued gift of all. Share the financial and catering responsibilities by asking guests to provide their favourite dish. Many people routinely bring a bottle, so simply extend the request. Plan family meals and prepare as much food as possible in advance, so avoiding unnecessary panic buying. Batch cook welcome winter staples like casseroles, soups and stews, often a pleasant alternative to heavy Christmas food.
Delegate some tasks and let others, including children help. Straightforward tasks like wrapping gifts, vegetable preparation, setting the table, washing up can be done by anyone. Let everyone feel part of the day’s success. Investigate free events like carol services, concerts and gallery shows. Some may need to be booked in advance. Plan a brisk country walk or outdoors ball game for another, or retrieve your board games and cards and enjoy the opportunity for conversation, fun and friendly rivalry.
If there’s dispute about where Christmas is being celebrated why not alternate plans between Christmas and New Year, or have Christmas dinner on Boxing Day or the weekend in-between. Remember to schedule some ’me¹ time to enjoy a relaxing bath and have a little personal space. Record your favourite programmes to watch when you’re free. And remember when things go wrong they’re often the things that people remember with affection, the special memories that make for the best kind of Christmas Day. Charlene asks “I always work very hard but I have never have anything to show for it. I can’t afford my own place to live and can’t afford to have a family.?” As a Piscean who has three planets in Aries and Jupiter in Aquarius, Charlene will pour so much energy into her work and into helping to make a difference in other people’s lives. It will have been important for her to have felt in charge of her life and destiny and she has achieved this by being a director of her own company. Charlene is a natural born leader and is used to having a lot of responsibility. Aries is an impulsive sign and Pisces isn’t particularly good at managing money. There is a distinct lack of Earth influence in her chart suggesting Charlene does not spend a lot of time dealing with the finer points of her finances. She is skilful and innovative and there’s every chance the money is there and it might help if Charlene sought the advice of a Virgo or Capricorn to help her manage her finances.
Kayleigh asks “Christmas has brought out the worst in my relationship, I'm torn between leaving and starting afresh..?” As a Cancerian, family is important for Kayleigh. She’ll have wanted Christmas to be perfect. Trying to get everything right can make this one of the most stressful times of the year. If their Christmas was far from merry and bright, this couple should give themselves a bit more time before doing anything drastic. With all the extra festive demands heaped on to Kayleigh, this in itself is likely to have created a situation that was far from relaxing. Kayleigh’s partner is a Taurus (his Sun is on the cusp of Aries and Taurus). He will be romantic, loving and loyal and although, due to his having three planets in Aries, he is more fiery and impatient than the average Taurean, there are aspects in Kayleigh’s chart that make her flexible, fun and sociable. There is compatibility and chemistry in this relationship and if she feels they are growing apart, they might book a romantic getaway to reconnect.
Doctor Who
With the countdown well and truly underway for the return of Doctor Who, television and film stars Goran Višnjić and Robert Glenister are set to appear in an episode of series 12 as the show makes an explosive return in early 2020. Christmas TV
It’s shaping up to be a great Christmas in front of the TV, with a schedule full of re-imagined classics, exciting new adaptations and specials of the country’s most beloved shows already announced, and lots more still to come. Here’s the pick of what we can reveal so far…
Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special – BBC One An n entire decade has passed since we were last treated to a new episode of Gavin & Stacey, so the return of the beloved English-Welsh sitcom for a one-off Christmas special is an undisputed highlight of the festive TV calendar.
Worzel Gummidge – BBC One The classic children’s sitcom is set for a festive reboot, with Mackenzie Crook replacing Jon Pertwee as the eponymous scarecrow who comes to life. Based on the classic children’s books by Barbara Euphan Todd, it will consist of two hour-long episodes.
A Christmas Carol – BBC One Few literary works have been adapted with quite as much regularity as Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, and with good reason – the 19th century fable remains the king of all Christmas stories. This time it’s Guy Pearce’s turn to follow in the footsteps of Albert Finney, Patrick Stewart and Michael Caine and declare “Bah, humbug!” The Australian actor is joined in this three-part special by Charlotte Riley, Stephen Graham, Andy Serkis and Vinette Robinson.
Mimi and the Mountain Dragon – BBC One Based on a popular Michael Morpurgo book, this animated children’s Christmas adventure looks set to be a real treat – and possibly something that could be mentioned in the same breath as The Snowman in years to come. Featuring a score by Oscar award-winning composer Rachel Portman and based on original illustrations by Emily Gravett, the 25-minute program tells the story of a shy girl who discovers a baby dragon in her family woodshed, and the journey she subsequently embarks on to return it to its mother. The Great Christmas Bake Off – Channel 4 Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will also be back in the tent to set the challenges and determine who wins. In The Great Christmas Bake Off, the traditional get togther will welcome back four past Bake Off head to head rematch. Joining them for the celebrations are Tom and Yan from 2017, and Briony and Terry from 2018, competing in themed challenges for the title of Christmas Star Baker.
The Trial of Christine Keeler – BBC One The a new prestige drama from the BBC is a six-parter, which boasts an impressive cast including Sophie Cookson, James Norton, Ellie Bamber and Ben Miles, focuses on the woman at the heart of the Profumo Affair – Christine Keeler. It tells a human story about the sexual and cultural politics of an iconic moment in history. Bancroft – ITV The festive period also marks the return of murder detective DCI Elizabeth Bancroft, for a second three-part series. Sarah Parish is back in the lead role, while the supporting cast includes Charlotte Hope, David Avery and Jacqueline Boatswain.

You and a partner or close friend aren’t spending a lot of time together. You both have other responsibilities and this is keeping you apart. You wonder how this might affect your relationship and it will all depend on how strong it happens to be. If you’ve been together a while, plans you are making for Christmas will give you both something to look forward to. If this is a new relationship and you aren’t able to find much time for each other, you could be looking for someone new, in the New Year.
You aren’t foolish. If someone is trying to charm you with expensive gifts and compliments, they don’t really know you. Once they start making demands, you will dig in your heels. Relationships with equal amounts of give and take are ideal for you. Life will be hectic, this Christmas and your family and friends will turn to you with their problems. They feel comforted by your calm and stable energy. In all areas, as the year ends, you will have a great sense of timing.
Sensitive information should be kept under wraps as the month begins. Friends know they can rely on you to keep their secrets. There is tension in a close relationship when you and a partner have different plans for Christmas. If you both have strong feelings for each other, this situation is only temporary. If one of you is making travel plans, it could be a case of absence making the heart grow stronger. Are you single? Going to a festive party will pave the way for romance.

Avoid impulsive moves early in the month. A cautious attitude will help you make the right decisions. Don’t feel obliged to accept every party invitation that comes your way. Choose the ones that fill you with excitement. A new love relationship or friendship will flourish, this festive season. You will be spending time with people you love and with such good vibrations around you, you feel encouraged to pursue opportunities for happiness. Your focus as the year ends will be on goals that will bring long-term security.
A group is relying on you to drive a team effort. As people meet you, hear you and see your passion, they also see your leadership qualities. You’re focused on a cause that is close to your heart and support will come from people you never imagined would share your aims. Confidence makes you glow and by Christmas you will be feeling optimistic, enthused and energetic. You have plenty to celebrate this month and champagne corks could be popping as the year ends.
Networking is important to your success. You won’t think twice about attending big parties and you will meet some important contacts at festive get-togethers. New creative and romantic opportunities are around you in abundance. You will enjoy this different pace of life and friendships begun now will bring you a lot of happiness in 2020. People want to please you and if you have some joint plans in mind for the future, the 31st would be a good day to reveal your thoughts.

Social, creative, romantic and business opportunities keep you on your toes. You aren’t used to such a hectic pace and you might feel that if you hesitate, an opportunity will be lost. Don’t feel rushed. Take your time in deciding which offers to accept and which to turn down. Helping people who need support will advance your goals. As the year ends you will be given an impressive promotion. A romantic relationship is heating up and your partner, too, has something special to celebrate.
Work and other responsibilities clash with social obligations. You are doing as much in your off duty ours as you are in your working time and you can’t fit everything in. Relationships are fun and harmonious but life is exhausting. You never seem to stop. Be sure to make your own choices as to how you will be spending Christmas. Choose people, places and activities that make you feel safe and loved. If you are single, romance will come to you when you least expect it.
Keep your hopes for a new relationship realistic. There’s a lot going on during this festive month and neither of you should be in a rush to make a commitment. Get to know each other first and allow romance to develop slowly. Love relationships based on friendship stand a better chance of working. Meeting up with colleagues outside of working hours will be fun as you discover you have more in common than you realised. If you’re planning the office Christmas party, everyone should get ready for an exciting night.
Reasons to go on a Ski Holiday
Ski holidays are an almost magical experience that everyone should try at least once. If you’re someone who needs a little convincing, then you’ll want to read these eight amazing reasons why everyone should go on a ski holiday; from the delicious après ski to chance to wear a fancy ski suit all day long. It’s closer than you think It’s a misconception that it takes forever to travel on a ski holiday. For example, here in the UK Mark Warner ski holidays have flights from Manchester and London that can get you standing by the Costa in departures one minute and navigating the hills in less than three hours. Just make sure you book a trip that includes resort transfers. Some of the ski resorts are based in villages that sit in a valley around mountains and driving there can be more confusing than trying to navigate out of the M25 on a Friday. The absolute scenes It may feel like the morning drags to go from breakfast to suiting up to getting equipment to hopping on a ski lift, but once you get to the top of a slope, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better view. Staying in spots like the Alps and France can see you popped right on top of mountains, while those lucky to be skiing in Canada are on some of the quietest slopes in the world. It’s hard to describe the vastness of the view when you’re up there, but anyone who’s been skiing before will know that almost overwhelming feeling of seeing everything looking so pristine. It isn’t always like the picture on a Toblerone bar, but it does look magical.
The food Possibly the only holiday where it’s pretty much mandatory to have fondue most days of the week, you can ditch a soggy burger and chips by the pool for a pot of gooey goodness with lumps of bread. You’d think staying in what feels like the middle of nowhere would mean poor food choices, but many resorts have a dedicated menu they stick to. Meats and cheeses are incredibly popular because of how easy they are to store in the cold. And if you see it at a bar, get a glass of ice wine, try it. It’s a delightfully sweet wine made from frozen grapes that is so delicious you won’t believe it’s just wine. The exercise Don’t go thinking a ski holiday is just a lazy way of sliding down a hill. Skiing allows you to get in a fantastic cardio session all day long. The amount of core strength needed to hold positions for prolonged periods puts planks to failure to shame. Even if you’re loading up at breakfast and après ski, you could see yourself coming home having lost weight and gained strength in the lower back and quads. The gear Getting suited and booted to get out there is all part of the fun, but don’t let yourself get in a blind panic when walking into the equipment room for the first time. Ski boots run on what is called a Mondopoint scale which works off of the length of your feet (in centimetres), but most resorts will have boots listed in European sizes. I recommend taking a second right now to take your shoe off and look at the European size and memorise it. Also, a little extra tip; there’s no such thing as half sizes in ski boots, and when resorts offer this, it means there’s just a heel shim or insole inside the boot. The après ski Sun, ski and all of the food and drink. While it’s all fun and games out there, it’s an understatement to say most people go on a ski holiday for the après ski. After exerting yourself so much to become a ski master, tucking into some nibbles, mulled wine and a few chocolates is absolute bliss. The Lifestyle Blogger UK
