I don’t have many close friends but I have noticed recently that one of my friends is saying negative things to me and I’m starting to feel depressed. I can hear you don’t have many close friends but sometimes it’s better to be surrounded with just one good friend rather than a group of friends who don’t have your real interests at heart. Friendships and relationships should always be based on mutual trust and respect. However, from what you’re describing sounds like bullying to me and this is having a negative impact on your day to day life. Who cares if you need to lose a little weight or don’t wear the latest fashion. You are an incredible and amazing women who can achieve anything. You deserve to be around true friends who don’t make judgements and love you for you as an individual; not based on material goods or looks. Focus on spending time with your other friends and talk to them about how you’re feeling. A true friend will always listen and support you. If you feel your depression isn’t improving, you should visit your GP and talk about how you’ve been feeling as they will support you.
