Michael McIntyre

Intriguing! When Celia Walden met the comic who looks more like a private school sixth former rather than the type of chappie who reduces his audience to tears....of laughter..... she was intrigued. She wrote “Looks are a implicit part of McIntyre’s comedic routine. You can’t base your shtick on the travails of "everyman" and not look like "everyman." Michael says he is not an “everyman” at all, in fact he insists he looks like a banker! Many would insist he is “a man in his own right”, with his finger on the self improvement pulse. He told Celia “...when I found myself buying XXXL sized shirts in Zara, I decided I’d like to lose at least one of those X’s. It’s a weird one: nobody notices when a brilliant comedian is fat or has sweat marks under their arms

“Still,I like to feel like I’m transforming into something quite cool when I go on stage” “Straight to the Bone!” “Cool” is the operative word when talking "McIntyre!". But what are the origins of his “straight to the bone humour”? His grandma was a

Hungarian Jew, his dad a Canadian; some might say his laughter genes showed up trumps! To boot, he grew up in Golders Green, London, a place where all the fun started. Referring to his youth, he cracked “I became monstrously posh as a child. My dad, who was Canadian, would say: ‘You sound like an a******.’ And I’d just say: ‘Oh, Papa, why do you speak of me in such ill tones?’ He told Celia “I was only eleven, but I’d talk aloud, trying to make everything funny.” He insists he grew into “a normal, deranged, adolescent, hormonal person”, however when he realised he could make people laugh he was thrilled. “Somehow I hadn’t realised that it could be a job!” Out of this World “Wackiness!” Taking the above into consideration, the question one might well ask is did his Sun in Pisces, Moon in Scorpio astro combo have something to do with that “out of this world” wackiness, or was he hiding an ultra sensitive Piscean personality behind the smile of a clown? Like Robbie Williams he was probably a lonely child, like Williams he tried to look on the bright side of life even if there were probably aspects, that in his view,he could have well done without. School ,for example.

Credit: BBC

No worries, his “bright side of life” attitude always wins through, recently he landed a 2020 booking in one of the most famous showbiz venues in the world, the six thousand capacity Radio City Music Hall. US audiences simply adore him so he can expect a full house. To boot his BBC "Big Show" will be back in autumn! He did not win a Bafta for nothing! The "Powers that Be!" are bound to want him performing on the small screen again and again. After all he makes people laugh till they forget Brexit for a few mad minutes. He quipped: “The BBC have once again asked me to steal celebrities' mobile phones and break in to people’s houses in the middle of the night, and I couldn't be more thrilled. "The Big Show is back with all the audience's favourites!” “Send To All”, “The Midnight Gameshow” and “Unexpected Star Of The Show,” plus big new ideas. I can't wait!”

Who's Waiting? His Jupiter in Aries probably can not wait either, in fact the generous planet ensures he enjoys fabulous luck. Some might say without that particular astro on his side our fave comic would probably never have reached such praiseworthy heights; well that is Jupiter's story and the big planet is sticking to it. One is not contradicting Mr J of course, nor is one saying the guy was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Few could bet his Sun is in the tenth house, which attracts success like "bees to honey" without a time of birth. But certainly the mood is upbeat, so much so he can quip about being “robbed of a Rolex watch by men on mopeds while parked outside his children's school" without turning a hair. Saying that one would have to insist that a “mooney” Scorpio ensures he is philosophical about the darker side of human nature Method to Madness “So what is the method behind this comedic genius's madness?” One could hazard a guess, and say Mercury in Aquarius? That unique combo means the mind is switched on to higher logic "twenty four seven", in plain language the guy thinks and talks faster than sound. This is the type of guy who can get away with saying "I’m glad Carol Vorderman has left Countdown, I mean it’s not like she did much. She was effectively just an autistic shelf-stacker.”

Getting Away with It Perhaps “getting away with it” is this amazing jester's secret. In short, he knows he can say what he wants when he wants, because he charms his audience "Venus in Aquarius style"; a combo that ensures his “social butterfly personality” will hit you for six in the “laugh a minute” department. "Anything not to be bored, anything that gets an audience surprised and amused" could be his motto. He is as unpredictable as his humour! Who could not love a guy who says; "See, you learn about humans when you have a baby. Like girls. Girls are so much more advanced than boys. I seriously think that girls are born in conversation. Like, they come out of the womb, talking: 'Are you my mother? Lovely to put a name to a face'." Well, we have certainly put a name to your face Mr Michael McIntyre. Or at least, we think we have, laughs and all!

Practising Self Love

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Or perhaps a more relevant question is, 'who's the most important person in your life?' Some people will regard their boss or work as their top priority, and of course earning money, supporting their family and having something, hopefully fulfilling, with which to occupy themselves is important. For others relationships are the answer; their children, friends, family or partner top their list every time. Then of course, we all know someone rather smug who says without a second thought that they are the most important person in their life! They'd buy tickets to see themselves in concert! Today, though, we're reflecting on the type of self-love which recognises that making decisions to look after ourselves means taking responsibility for our own health and happiness. When we do that, everyone in our lives also benefits. I'd like to share some tips to help you manage the negative events, hurts and disappointments that happen in life which impact on our expectations and influence our view of the world. Introduce 'reasonable' affirmations. Saying 'I'm gorgeous/beautiful/perfect' is enough to give many people a bad case of indigestion, but being reasonable in our self talk enables us to say something like 'I am taking positive steps everyday', 'I am moving towards my goals and feeling good about myself'. Find something positively phrased, that sits well with you and repeat it daily. This practise can help to change your mindset and overcome years of unfortunate conditioning.

Do things that you do well. Even, in fact, especially, in a busy life, it's important to schedule time for things that you're good at, so that you remind yourself how capable you are. Playing sport, baking a cake, doing some handiwork, even helping someone out are all ways to boost your self-love and bolster your confidence and self-esteem. Encourage others to be appreciative of you. Self-love can benefit when others show that they value you, the help you've given them or the ways you've supported their lives. Be okay about drawing their attention to your endeavours and training them to be appreciative. Be gracious in accepting praise. So many of us are embarrassed or uncomfortable about praise or compliments. Instead of shrugging it off smile, be gracious and absorb it. That way everyone concerned feels good. Tackle the overwhelm and break tough tasks into bite-sized chunks. Self-love can suffer when we feel swamped or don't know where to start. Could fear or perfectionism play a part in this state of mind and, if so, start to address those issues. Build your team. Delegate, even to children at home. Let them feel involved and responsible for chores like setting the table or folding the laundry. At work encourage people to improve their skills - they may even come up with good ideas and better ways of doing things. Consider hiring help so that you get the best person to do the job, like your accounts, social media, PR or marketing. Then you can feel self-love as you do the tasks you're uniquely equipped to do. Learn to say 'no' well. No can be the most positive word in your vocabulary when used in the right way, at the right time, with the right person. Without it you can end up running yourself ragged, feeling used, resentful and stressed out.

Ask for help. Do you expect other people to be psychic and know what's going on in your mind, how you're feeling, what you need? Practise self-love and communicate what you need from others. Communication is also about listening well. So be interested and attentive in your relationships and allow them to thrive. Take time out. Breaks are an important part of managing stress and learning to love and respect yourself. Identify the times when you typically start to feel unwell, tense, edgy and find ways to take breaks before this occurs. Go outside for a walk, enjoy some fruit, read a book, listen to music, take a relaxing bath. Maybe even put yourself in your diary like you would an important client, and honour that appointment!

Learn to say 'yes' too at times. Self-love is about stepping outside your comfort zone and occasionally scaring yourself a little. And often when we say 'yes' to seemingly impossible opportunities it's amazing how doors start to open to support those situations. Keep a 'happy' or 'success' book and record those mini-triumphs. Then you'll have a log which supports you in more difficult times. Self-love engages all the different elements of your life. When you establish strong roots the tree will grow confident and firm, able to weather the storms that come its way. Then, when you look in the mirror, you'll see a positive reflection that's vibrant, joyous and ready to break out of the limits of its frame. Flavia Cacace

Over the last 10 years, Flavia has become one of the nation’s favourite dancers and personalities. From her Glitterball-winning exploits on BBC one’s Strictly Come Dancing to her formidable dance partnership with Vincent Simone that saw them sell out theatres around the UK with their unique brand of dance theatre for a consecutive 8 years. Along the way they both managed to garner rave reviews, pick several award nominations, appear on numerous TV shows and even make special appearances on prestigious shows like the Royal Variety and the BBC Proms. Alongside her glittering dance career, Flavia’s other passions include animal welfare, dog behaviour, food and drink and taking long walks in Cornwall with her husband, Jimi and their two cockapoos, Pablo and Zak. A little known fact is that Flavia is also a qualified dog groomer.

Recently Flavia has branched out from her known background of dance and taken a step into the world of fitness. For many years of being a dancer, Flavia has had a keen interest in Health and Fitness and has previously released several dance fitness DVD’s, but her passion runs much deeper than that. Flavia’s belief is that Total Fitness is not only about the physical side but also about your mind, body, and soul. A positive outlook can go a long way! With this drive, Flavia recently went back to school and studied with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) gaining her Level 3 diploma in personal training and nutrition. With this, she has started her new venture FCMFIT, a health and fitness brand that encompasses Flavia’s beliefs and provides programs for all levels to get fit and be the best person they can be. Alongside this, Flavia has also created “DanceHiiT the Workout”, which is a fun dance-based aerobic workout for all ages and abilities where she runs weekly LIVE online classes through the website that anyone can subscribe to. As well as her new direction into Fitness, Flavia is still enjoying dance tuition and conducting dance workshops and masterclasses. Flavia has a fellowship qualification with the UKA. Flavia hopes that with her new website and her versatility she’s able to offer something for everyone. Flavia has said that the best piece of advice anyone has given her was from one of her early dance teachers who said: “Be the best version of you”. She now hopes she can inspire others to do the same.

Preparing for Flu Season

It’s been a horrendous flu season in Australia this year. There were more than a quarter of a million (266,780) laboratory-confirmed cases up to the start of September, with more than 300 deaths. To put that into perspective, 2018 saw 58,000 cases for the entire calendar year. That’s a four-fold rise. The good news is that the World Health Organisation (WHO) made a last-minute change to this year’s flu vaccine to factor in the main strain that’s circulating in Australia. However, there is a chance this year’s flu jab might be delayed until November, as the last-minute change has impacted the supply chain. A spokesperson for Public Health England (PHE) said “while there have been concerns raised about the Australian flu season, what happens in Australia, is not a clear predictor of the UK’s flu season”.

Who should get the flu vaccine? The national flu immunisation programme aims to protect those at risk of becoming seriously ill from flu over winter. It is offered free of charge (on the NHS) to the following groups: ■ ■

adults aged 65 and over,

people with certain medical conditions (including children in at-risk groups from 6 months of age), ■ ■

children aged two and three on 31 August 2019, ■

children in primary school,

close contacts of immunocompromised individuals, ■

pregnant women,

frontline health or social care workers.

Members of the public can also get this vaccine at their local pharmacy but will have to pay.

The best time, according to the NHS, is from the beginning of October to the end of November. However people considered at-risk might be invited to attend flu clinics before then (in September). The vaccine can be offered throughout the winter, so you won’t miss out if you haven’t had it by December.

#ShareTheOrange

Alzheimer’s Research UK has joined forces with Samuel L. Jackson to battle the serious misconception that dementia is an inevitability of old age. The ‘#ShareTheOrange’ campaign highlights that physical diseases cause dementia, most commonly Alzheimer’s using an orange to symbolise the weight of matter lost in the brain as the condition develops. In the film, Samuel explains: “The damage to a brain with Alzheimer’s can leave it weighing 140g less than a healthy one. That’s about the weight of an orange…this shows us it is a physical disease…” Samuel’s family has been impacted by Alzheimer’s more than most, having had six relatives diagnosed with the disease. “I’ve been surrounded by Alzheimer’s most of my life. My grandfather was my best friend growing up, so it was heart breaking for me to see him not know who I was. The same happened with my mother soon after she was diagnosed. Her mother had it, her brother had it, her sister had it, and so did my aunty on my father’s side. It is so cruel having someone who has nurtured you and taken care of you reach a point where they can’t even recall your name. “It’s been proven from other diseases throughout history that where there is research, there can be a cure. Where there is research, there is hope. By sharing the knowledge that diseases like Alzheimer’s are not simply part and parcel of old age, we have the power to push research forward and put an end to this devastation. We must act now to speed up research towards breakthroughs.” Despite dementia now being the UK’s leading cause of death, a recent poll has shown that 22% still incorrectly believe that dementia is an inevitable part of old age.

Hilary Evans, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Research UK, said: “Samuel L. Jackson’s role in our #ShareTheOrange campaign will put a global spotlight on the seriousness of dementia and the huge impact it has on society. Dementia is caused by physical brain diseases, most commonly Alzheimer’s disease, and is not an inevitable part of ageing.” “Research has made major breakthroughs in other disease areas in recent years and we can do the same for the diseases, like Alzheimer’s, that cause dementia. Our scientists are already making vital discoveries and with more support for their work, we can turn discoveries into life-changing breakthroughs more quickly.”

Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity and last year pledged to commit a landmark £250m of funding towards pioneering medical research into the condition by 2025. Dementia is the world’s greatest medical challenge, not only for the individuals affected and their families, but for society as a whole. Over 850,000 people in the UK have dementia, and the condition has an economic impact in the UK of over £26bn a year – more than cancer and heart disease combined.

October Horoscopes from Russell Grant

How will the Full Moon on the 13th change your life?

ARIES You'll be coming into your own on the 13th, thanks to an empowering Full Moon. Take this opportunity to command the spotlight. Instead of deferring to others, march to the beat of your own drummer. Promote your agenda, challenge rivals and satisfy your urges. In the past, people have accused you of being selfish, implying this was a character flaw. That's not the case in mid-October, when you've earned the right to satisfy your needs. Although you'll want to achieve intimacy with someone special on the 28th, this will be easier said than done. The object of your affection will question your motives and pull away at the critical moment. Don't let the forbidding New Moon stop a promising relationship from getting off the ground. If you're already in a serious relationship, an argument about joint finances could cause a headache. If this talk gets tense, back off and take deep breaths.

TAURUS Hidden information will come to light on the 13th, due to a revelatory Full Moon. Now that you understand a loved one's past, it will be easier to achieve intimacy. Do your best to ease their fears and encourage their dreams. Knowing how to support your best friend or romantic partner will strengthen your bond. It will also dissolve any hidden resentments that have been building up for years. The New Moon on the 28th will pave the way to a partnership. This alliance won't be entirely easy. It will be difficult to satisfy your unusual tastes and sensibilities. At times, your other half will have difficulty anticipating your needs. Try not to subject them to wild mood swings. The more considerate you are, the easier it will be to use this association to your advantage. When you argue, don't make personal remarks. Stick to the subject and don't say anything you might live to regret.

GEMINI The Full Moon on the 13th is an ideal time to attend a social gathering. If you're single, you will meet someone who makes your pulse pound. Throw caution to the wind and get romantically involved; you won't be sorry. If you're already in a serious relationship, your amour will enjoy showing you off. Wear something special that draws admiring glances. You'll have fun being the centre of attention and making your partner proud. On the 28th, the New Moon will mark a difficult work assignment. This job will command every ounce of your energy. Working with a group of highly eccentric people will be both amusing and frustrating. The final days of October will sap your energy. Try to rest at every opportunity. Eating nutritious meals on a regular schedule will keep your system strong and repel illness. The last thing you want is to get sick when you're facing a tight deadline.

CANCER The Full Moon on the 13th trains the spotlight firmly on you. You'll enjoy showcasing your talent and working before the public. Instead of trying to blend in with the crowd, emphasise your differences. This will allow you to land the creative assignments you enjoy. Travelling for work will be both intellectually stimulating and spiritually rewarding. On the 28th, the New Moon could mark the beginning of a passionate romance. You'll be irresistibly drawn to someone who belongs to an unusual social circle. Although you'll have lots in common with the object of your affection, it will be difficult to fit in with their friends. Instead of ingratiating yourself to this social set, be true to yourself. If this relationship is meant to be, it will take flower. If not, you will have learned a valuable lesson about yourself. Are you already in a relationship? Your amour may take up an unusual hobby that gets on your nerves.

LEO Taking an ethical stance will be rewarded on the 13th, thanks to a satisfying Full Moon. You may prevail in a legal matter or vanquish an immoral enemy. Give yourself a reward for putting personal interest aside for the sake of principle. If you've been engaged in a course of study, you'll graduate with honours. As a result, you'll have a choice of excellent job offers. Being paid to travel the world will be a dream come true. The New Moon on the 28th will mark a professional opportunity that shakes up your domestic life. This job will require you to move far from home. Living in an unusual part of the world will be challenging. At times, you'll feel isolated. It's important to develop coping strategies and relaxation techniques to deal with this transition. Immersing yourself in unfamiliar surroundings will be a wonderful growth opportunity. Release the familiar and embark on an adventure.

VIRGO On the 13th, an enriching Full Moon will put more money in your bank account. An inheritance, refund or settlement will allow you to make some extensive home improvements. If you've always wanted to buy your own place, you'll be finally able to do so. Any place that has special accommodations for your pets is worth checking out. Have you always wanted a cat or dog? This will finally be your chance to get one. A course of study could be overwhelming on the 28th, thanks to a tense New Moon. You'll be expected to process enormous amounts of information in a short amount of time. The results of a test will be less than spectacular. Don't let this result deter you from your studies. By refusing to back down from this subject, you will eventually master it. An erratic teacher who rubs you the wrong way at first will eventually worm their way into your heart.

LIBRA The Full Moon on the 13th is a great time to strike a compromise with your best friend, romantic partner or business associate. Instead of clinging stubbornly to a particular point, be willing to negotiate. You can back down from your position without losing respect. If you've been collaborating on an original project, you'll bring this work to its satisfying conclusion. Word of your talent will spread like wildfire. A moneymaking opportunity is worth pursuing, but don't spend your first paycheque on luxury purchases. Instead, use this income to satisfy debts. It may take a few months before you're back in the black, so be patient. Achieving economic independence will make your confidence soar. The New Moon on the 28th invites you to practice the power of positive thinking. Instead of staying awake nights worrying about money, you'll be able to drift into a deep, satisfying slumber. There's no better gift to give yourself than peace of mind.

SCORPIO You'll see the results of a health regimen on the 13th, thanks to a gratifying Full Moon. Your efforts to eat well, be more active and get more reset will pay off handsomely. Give yourself a handsome reward for your diligence and sacrifice. If you've been working on a cuttingedge project, you'll bring it to a successful conclusion in mid-October. You can expect a big cheque from this job. On the 28th, the New Moon will tempt you to change your appearance. Don't undergo any radical transformations at this time. You'll be displeased with the results. Temporary alterations can satisfy your urge to experiment without causing despair. Don't rush to colour your hair, get a tattoo or undergo a cosmetic procedure. Instead, borrow clothes from a stylish friend. Taking on a whole new image or look is a great way to have fun without falling victim to serious regret.

SAGITTARIUS After a long period of drudgery, you'll be able to relax and have some fun on the 13th. That's when an uplifting Full Moon invites you to come out and play. If you've been yearning for romance, you'll find it with a wild rebel. The two of you share a love of adventure; lots of far-flung trips are in the cards for you both. Are you already in a relationship? Your amour will give you an extravagant token of their affection. Accept it with a grateful heart; there are no strings attached to this tribute. You'll want to retreat from public view and develop an independent project on the 28th, but the tense New Moon won't allow you to do so. An annoying colleague will continually bother you for information they should already possess. It may be best to turn off your phone and hang a 'do not disturb' sign on the door.

CAPRICORN Home, family and real estate command your attention on the 13th. That's when a stimulating Full Moon draws your attention to domestic life. If you've been trying to wrap up the purchase or sale of property, mid-October is the time to do so. It's also possible that one of the family will leave the nest or you'll finish a home improvement job. On the 28th, the New Moon pushes you into an unfamiliar environment. You'll feel like a fish out of water in this group. Fight your instinct to flee the scene. It's much better to stay and make new friends. Certain people in this crowd will rub you the wrong way. You'll find their tastes pretentious. If you force yourself to stay on the scene, you'll find someone else who finds these attitudes equally absurd. At that point, a dreadfully boring gathering will become lots of fun.

AQUARIUS The Full Moon on the 13th invites you to clear your desk and finish tasks. The middle of the month is the ideal time to process paperwork, tackle correspondence and pay bills. Fill the pantry, clean the bathroom and clear out clutter. These tasks will be time consuming but satisfying. Signing official paperwork will be especially fortunate for you at this time. A financial deal will put extra money in your bank account. Buying a travel package will be worth its weight in gold. On the 28th, the New Moon warns against accepting a career opportunity that has lots of strings attached. If the initial terms aren't favourable, negotiate for better ones. If you can't reach a satisfactory agreement, turn away this job and wait for a better one. Don't back yourself into a corner at the end of October. It's important for you to have enough free time to spend with your family; an all-consuming position isn't suited to you.

PISCES Don't hesitate to ask for what is rightfully yours on the 13th, when the Full Moon sheds lights on your material needs. Demand payment for services rendered, ask for a loan to be repaid or indulge in a luxury purchase. There's nothing shallow about loving luxury and comfort. If you've been trying to improve your income, you'll have a good chance of landing a lucrative job in mid-October. Apply for a position that appeals to your sense of adventure. The New Moon on the 28th invites you to expand your horizons. The thought of earning an advanced degree is daunting; you're not sure if you can compete with students who have quick minds and sharp insights. Don't worry about the competition; seek to satisfy your own goals. Instead of taking up a subject in a practical subject, choose a course of study that is off the beaten path.

2019 Resolutions..?

How are you getting on with your New Year's resolutions? If you did decide to make some this year chances are they're a long distant memory by now. Why do you think that is, why do so many resolutions fail within the first month? It's often the case that people set goals and resolutions for half-baked or even unhelpful reasons. They may think they should use New Year as an opportunity to improve. They may see others looking to make positive changes to their business or personal life, so why not join in. Surely everyone could work together and motivate each other. Then there are those suggestions for resolutions and improvements that may have come from 'well-meaning' people, suggesting we learn a new skill, make forward-looking plans, set exciting challenges which please/impress/satisfy our family and friends! With three months left this year there's still time to re-evaluate, start again and find goals and success for 2019 that sit well and are a more appropriate fit for us. There are four good questions it's important to ask when deciding on any resolutions or changes you may be considering. These questions can help you determine whether you're really sufficiently motivated to commit yourself fully. Are you doing it for you? The best motivation comes from doing something which enthuses and energizes you, which makes you determined to stay the course. Motivation comes from aiming for something that's brings something important into your life. If other people are forcing, guilt-tripping or demanding you change that's rarely enough to keep you going on the tougher days. Are you prepared to pace yourself? You may want to stop smoking or drinking, be determined to lose weight or change a bad habit. Some people succeed in achieving their goal all in one go, but others need time to cut down, make adjustments and get used to the new regimen. Pace yourself and do it in the best way for you.

Do you give yourself credit? Each success, each 'no' to a cigarette, drink or bag of sweets, each visit to the gym or time when you turn your phone off or finish work a little earlier are all successes. Give yourself credit and savour the different mindset you introduced at that time. Enjoy how good that feels.

How do you treat yourself if you fail? Don't be too hard on yourself if you slip up sometimes. Treat yourself with the same kindness you would another person, and simply re-start. There's no need to wait for New Year or even the next new day. Commit to immediately getting back on track. It can sometimes be tempting to tell ourselves 'it's not worth it', 'it's too hard', 'I can't do it'. But these four questions can be great guidelines to remind ourselves that we're worth it. And we still have three months left in which to make 2019 a positive year in which to achieve our goals. Susan Leigh, Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Relationship Counsellor

John asks “My wife talks about moving abroad but I think we're too old now to start over.?” John has a lot of the Fixed sign Scorpio in his chart with his Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars being in this sign. This does not and should not prevent him from moving abroad should the opportunity present itself, but it does take a lot of time for him to get used to the idea of change. He is not ruling it out entirely as he is wondering whether it is a future possibility and this will help him prepare for changes to come should it actually happen. As a Gemini, his wife is more adaptable, more restless and more likely to take such a move in her stride. If John talks himself around to the idea that this could be a good move and an exciting one, his chart shows a strong possibility of a life-transforming move in 2020. His Gemini wife is not be so keen at the practicalities but this will help them make an informed choice, together.

Ruth asks “When will life get better..?” Cancerians are security conscious and they need their lives to feel as safe as possible on every level: their home, work, social life and relationships. When things become out of balance, this can make them feel anxious, confused and uncertain. One thing in life that is guaranteed is that change is inevitable and being able to adapt to the changes going on around her will help Carrie cope more effectively. Carrie will be learning more about herself through the changing patterns of her life and as 2020 begins, she will also be seeing some very positive developments as a result of the shake-up that is currently occurring. It is time for her to embrace the opportunities the Universe is bringing her way. If she needs signs that she is on the right path, all she has to do is ask her angels for their guidance and be open to how these might appear, such as finding feathers or coins, or seeing images in clouds.

Hanna Sillitoe

Hanna Sillitoe has struggled with Psoriasis since she was 15 years old. Psoriasis manifests itself as an overproduction of cells on the surface of the skin. Hannah said “My body hurt, I was physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. I’d become tired of constantly being sick and tired. And above everything, I was fed up of the way I looked. I tried everything the doctor offered me. Steroid creams, emollients, creams that burned, coal tar solutions - nothing ever offered a permanent fix. Besides conventional medicines I experimented inconsistently with acupuncture, Chinese medicine and so called 'miracle cure' creams I found online. Nothing offered decent results.” “Eventually four years ago I went back to my Doctor. I was desperate. I'd had the worst flare ever. Psoriasis covered my body, eczema tightened my eyelids, my skin was painful and itchy and I hated it. This time my Dr suggested a medication called Methotrexate. This is a chemotherapy drug. Had my health and skin deteriorated to such an extent that I needed cancer meds to make me well again? I panicked at the side effects and decided there and then I had to do something about it.” Hanna released a book in 2017,Radiant:Recipes to your heal your skin from within, and more recently her Vegan skincare range which was boosted with a £50,000 investment from Peter Jones and Tej Lalvani from the BBC TV series Dragons Den. Hanna created the all natural, vegan skincare range formulated specifically for people with skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema and posriasis.

Speaking of her time on Dragons Den, where Hanna received an offer from all five dragons, she said “I was in the den for over two hours. I was so nervous and deciding on my Dragons was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make!”

Be true to yourself and others. Admit it if you aren’t in the mood for plans made for the start of October. Don’t feel guilty about pulling out of arrangements you aren’t keen on. Something you and a partner began together seems to mean more to them than you. If they want to continue, suggest they do so without you. Going out with friends will bring you joy late October. Even if you’re struggling to make ends meet, entertainment plans don’t have to cost a lot to bring you pleasure.

You’ve always had high standards & expectations from your relationships. You long to establish a soul connection with someone you recently started dating but these things take time. Remember that everyone has their flaws and accepting this will help you show more compassion and understanding towards others. You will know, in your heart, when you find your dream lover. A situation around the 20th will cause some confusion. When you feel the urge to talk, confide in someone you trust.

If there’s something bothering you about a relationship, get it off your chest as October begins. Something someone tells you around the 4th will be a very pointed message and they expect you to take them seriously. A strong emotional attachment is developing and this is a bond that makes your eyes sparkle with happiness. Later in the month, someone in your social circle will have heard of an opportunity that would be perfect for you. Strike while the iron is hot.

Love Horoscopes

Cancer

Virgo

Love is intense and you and your amour could be sharing some fascinating and almost mystical experiences. Are you single and hoping to begin a new relationship? When it comes to making the first move you may have a few romantic ideas but you can be a bit shy. If you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity, ask a friend to say something on your behalf. Your fantasy life may be rich but you want reality and you long to be in the arms of someone who will love you forever.

Social activities will be expensive early on. It might be a good idea, around the 11th, for you and a partner to review joint finances. Check you both contributing regularly to your bank account. You will need some variety to stop you from getting bored mid-October. Remember, you can still play the romantic, even when in a long-standing relationship. Plan something fun, different and exciting to do together. Are you single? You and an admirer will enjoy exchanging playful remarks as the month ends.

You may have to postpone some joint plans for a few weeks much to a partner’s disappointment. Sometimes duty must come first. Work will be fulfilling but relationships are important too. Try to find a balance between the two. A little spice will be just what your love life needs around the 17th. Take this opportunity to sneak off to a private hideaway with your amour. Sharing secrets is a strong feature of the latter half of the month. This will help build stronger bonds between you and another.

Philip Garcia’s L

Libra

Scorpio

Sagittarius

You don’t have to spell out what you want for your partner to understand. It might seem as if they can read your mind. Finding ways to spread your happiness would be a great use of your energy, mid-October. Don’t be surprised if someone tells you that happy times are made even more joyful because of your presence. Are you single? You could be weaving some magical hopes for the future around someone you meet as the month ends.

Venus moving into your sign early in October ushers in a new era of love and romance. This will be a positive and passionate month with lots of fun and playful diversions. You prefer to cultivate a harmonious environment and recent arguments can be put behind you now. You’re more in tune with your partnership responsibilities and others, too, are making more effort. Friendships will flourish because of all the time and energy you are putting into your social life.

It will be easy to fall head over heels in love with a dynamic person who is always in the spotlight. Whether this is infatuation or fascination doesn’t seem to matter to you. You admire their skills while they are enchanted by your interest. Don’t hold back from revealing your deepest thoughts. By the 24th your most cherished hopes will be established on an upward spiral and this will make you confident about your romantic future. Life is looking fantastic.

Love Horoscopes

Capricorn

Aquarius

Pisces

You could be in contact with someone who was special to you in the past. This brings back mixed memories. Some happy, some sad. Whatever caused you to go your separate ways, there still seems to be a tinge of regret or remorse. You accept that you will never get back together again but this does not stop you from remaining good friends. A romantic partner who is loving, loyal and supportive will provide the stable future you dream of.

Someone you meet around the 3rd will have a big impact on your life and equally, your future. It will feel as if the consequences of joint negotiations will be either the make or break of you. Although this won’t be entirely so, your mood, outlook and happiness will depend on how everything goes. A close friend will reveal information that helps ease your mind of a worry you have secretly been harbouring. Your lifestyle will become more active as October ends but you know your limitations.

Make the most of a chance to demonstrate a special skill that’s presented to you early in October. Someone who doubted your abilities will now be full of admiration for your talent. Pull out all the stops if you’re doing some home entertaining around the 11th. You’re likely to be mixing with some influential people connected with your work. If you are single, everyone senses the chemistry between you and a colleague and it seems inevitable that very soon, you will be a couple.

Korean 10-Step Skincare Routine

The Korean 10-step skincare routine is known all over Korea. Koreans teach this routine to their teenagers to have supple and healthy skin. Because of its popularity, this coveted skincare regimen is done by men and women all over the world. The products don’t need to be from a single company like The Face Shop; they can be a combination of products from other skincare manufacturers.

1. Do a double-cleanse First, you need to cleanse. You have to have a clean face before you apply any products. If you’re going to do a double cleanse, make sure that you use the oil cleanser like Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil before the water cleanser. An alternative to double cleansing is using a cleansing foam such as Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam. 2. Tone your skin with a toner After cleansing, you need to apply a toner like Yehwadam Pure Brightening Toner. The toner is a third cleansing step, that allows you to remove the dirt you may have missed with your cleansers. The toner also balances the pH level of your skin so that it’s not too acidic before other products are applied. 3. Exfoliate your face at least once a week Your skin needs to be exfoliated to retain its soft texture. After toning your skin, you can use a mud mask or exfoliator like the Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Scrub Foam. Make sure that you do this at most twice a week or thrice if your skin is oily 4. Apply an essence After toning or exfoliation, you should apply an essence as a prelude to other skincare products. There are several essences available in the beauty market today. 5. Pat on an emulsion After using essences, pat an emulsion like the Rice & Ceramide Moisture Emulsion to fortify the essence. An emulsion can add another layer of moisture and hydration on your face.

6. Add a few drops of serum on your face After putting on an emulsion, pat on your desired serum such as the White Seed Brightening Serum. The serum allows you to add essential nutrients on your face and enhance your skin texture. 7. Put on a sheet mask and relax for a few minutes After you’re done with the serum, put on a sheet mask like The Solution Mask Sheet. Most sheet masks have instructions on the packaging, and they could take as short as 10 minutes or as long as 30 minutes. 8. Remove the sheet mask and apply an eye cream After removing the sheet mask, you should pat the leftover essences and serums from the mask into your face. Then you can use eye cream like the Yehwadam Revitalizing Eye Cream in a circular motion around your eyes. The eye cream is crucial, especially when you’re in your 30s because it’s a preventive measure from eye wrinkles. 9. Apply a moisturizer Seal your entire routine with a moisturizer like the Mango Seed Silk Moisturizing Facial Butter. A moisturizer locks in all the nutrients and hydration from the products you previously applied on your face. Make sure that you use a moisturizer after all the other products. 10. Sun Screen for daytime and night cream for nighttime After the moisturizer, add sunscreen like the Natural Sun Eco No Shine Hydrating Sun Cream SPF50+ PA+++ for day use. The sun is harmful on your skin, so it’s vital that you don’t miss this step, especially if you’re going out into the sun.
