DieselDrive - Toyota Hilux gets Xtra Cab option

Hilux gets XTra Cab option Toyota South Africa has filled the gap between the popular Hilux single- and double-cab bakkies with a new ‘Xtra Cab’ model. The Xtra Cab ‘stretched cabin’ layout is familiar to many owners and offers an extra 500mm of cabin space over the single cab, creating a storage area behind the two individual front seats for the safe and secure storage of valuables and equipment.

The extra space created by the 500mm cab extension is immediately evident once behind the steering wheel. Access to the rear storage space is easy, thanks to tilt and slide front seats. Interior luxuries, to Raider specification levels and mirroring that of the double-cab range, include a radio/CD player with MP3 functionality, Optitron instrumentation, height adjustable power steering with leather trim on steering wheel, cruise control, electric windows and tinted windows all round. Vehicle safety is well taken care of with the fitment of ABS, dual airbags and side impact protection. Both versions also offer remote central locking and an immobiliser as standard.
