MORTGAGE MASTER Loan volume: $273 million Number of loans: 627

Senior vice president of mortgage lending

Consistently recognized as one of the top originators in the business, Baret Kechian has evolved tremendously over his 20-year career to become a dynamic leader within the mortgage industry. Based in Hoboken, New Jersey, Kechian holds the record for the highest-priced condo ever financed in New Jersey. He has extensive local real estate market knowledge, which enables him to assist potential clients in finding the perfect financing options throughout New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He believes the key to succeeding in such a fast-paced real estate market is listening to borrowers to understand their needs and deliver quality service every time. Kechian says 2016 was “the perfect storm of activity” for him at loanDepot’s retail division, Mortgage Master. “With rates dropping to all-time lows, we found ourselves in the midst of a maelstrom where the frenzy of refinancing collided with a brisk purchase business,” he says. “Despite the dramatic increase in volume we were processing, it was crucial that we followed through on every detail.”

GUARANTEED RATE Loan volume: $231 million Number of loans: 708

Shimmy Braun was Guaranteed Rate’s top producer from 2008 to 2011, and he continues to rank as one of the company’s top originators. Braun and his team are highly respected by the real estate community for their high level of honesty, integrity and customer service. Thanks to that rapport, Braun has originated more than $1.5 billion worth of mortgages over the course of his 18-year career.
