Excellent climate.
None.
Students involved, asking questions, and making comments. Teacher listening to each student. Lesson especially designed for these students reading at this level.
Clear behavior expectations stated at the beginning. When one student continues to talk when teacher talking, she gave a signal to be quiet and looked at the child. He immediately began to listen. Very productive lesson. No wasted time.
Reviewed lesson from yesterday, clearly stated objectives for today. Had students make predictions about chapter. Sugg. You are doing too much work. You might have let the students read the recipe, instead of reading it yourself. “What word would make me know he drank very fast?” “What’s really important to Andrew now?” Great questions. Suggestion: Provide more wait time. Excellent examples of feedback.

The book discussion was an excellent example of students and teacher talking about a book. Good job, Katherine. You know how to teach a guided reading lesson.
